Reading is one of the basic communicative skills, but it has very complex process. It can be said that reading is a process in which the reader gets message from the author in the written from. The objectivities of this research entitled “Teaching Reading Comprehension Using Previewing technique” was to find out whether or not the previewing as pre reading technique can improve students’ reading comprehension. The population was all the students grade XI of Ma Muslimin Cijenuk in the academic years 2017-2018,while the sample of this research was 34 students of XI science established through random technique. The Research used quantitative method. The instruments used in this research were pretest and posttest. The techniques in analyzing the data were using SPSS version 21. The result of data analysis showed that the value of the t-value is 21.185 is bigger than t-table at level 5% 2.042, it means that the hypothesis null is rejected. The results of the study show that teaching reading using previewing technique in second grade of MA Muslimin Cijenuk is able to improve students’ reading comprehensions. TThe purpose of this study is to identify the techniques that lecturers use in assessing a conversation. Then to discover how the English lecturer makes conversation judgments using pragmatic techniques. several video conversations were selected as data in this study. The data obtained from the results observed a video on gossip tv shows and then in transcript and reported descriptive. The results of this study showed in a tv show there are several violations of maxim according to pragmatic techniques. This research entitled “Improving Students’ Reading Comprehension Through SQ3R Technique”. This research has purpose to figure out the use of SQ3R strategy in improving students’ reading comprehension. The population of this research is students of SMA Negeri 1 Cipongkor including eleventh grade of IPS class and IPA class. The number of population is 60 students. The sample of this research is only one class that is IPS class consists 30 students. The quantitative research method is used in this research, and specifically the one group pre-test post-test design as research design. The instrument of this researches is pretest and posttest and the writers also use t-test formula for collecting data. The result of the research shows that tobs is 2.42, the ttable with degrees of freedom (df) 29 and level of significance at 0.05 was 1,69. Based on the data, the t-test result was 2.42, it was higher that t-table (2.42 > 1.69). It means the alternative hypothesis was accepted. According to the data analysis which is collected, it can be concluded that the test is reliable. And the research showed that teaching students’ reading comprehension using SQ3R technique is very useful. That is why, the SQ3R strategy is suitable in improving students’ reading comprehension.Keywords: Reading, Reading Comprehension, SQ3R Strategy

This study is aimed to investigate the influence of scrabble game in teaching vocabulary mastery at tenth grade students of SMKN 7 Pandeglang. This research used randomized matched subject pretest posttest design control group.Seventy students were appointed as the representative sample of this research. Samples were taken by considering students’ English score. The resulted data analyzed and compared by using comparison technique, whether the researcher compared the results of pre-test and post-test of both different groups, average score pretest and posttest of accountancy class (did not use scrabble) is 41.74285714 average score pretest and posttest is 49.37142857 (use scrabble game). Based on analysis of data, this research showed that students who are taught by using scrabble game got higher score than students who are taught without any teaching technique.Keywords: Teaching Vocabulary Mastery, Teaching Vocabulary’s Game, and Scrabble Game

Language is the most important aspect in human interaction. People communicate and interact with other using the language. In global community, English has become an international language that is used by many people around the world. Reading is one of English language skills and it is one of the ways to learn English. Reading activity should get more attention. It is because there are many students who get some difficulties in understanding a text. In this research inform the using of talking stick in teaching reading. The objective of this research was to find out whether there was any significant difference in improvement the reading ability of recount text of the tenth grade students of SMK Rosma Karawang in academic year 2018/2019 by using talking stick method. The method used was quantitative method. In this research the writer used pre-experimental design of one group pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed by using paired sample test and processed by using SPSS 23 for windows. The results of the research showed there was significant increase of student’s reading ability.Keywords: Teaching, Reading, Talking Stick

Teaching English for Young Learner is not easy for several students. They face the obstacles in applying the science of pedagogy for Young Learners. The also have barriers to interact with children. However the teaching learning process may enjoyable if both of teachers and learners get fun together. This research examines what obstacles faced by several students when teaching English for Young Learners. This study also aims to explore the phenomenon of how reducing these anxiety. This research uses descriptive qualitative. There are seven persons as participants in this research. The result shows that they feel dizzy, anxious, and various other anxiety symptoms. They are anxious about lack of focus of young learners, mispronounce, inappropriate action, and unruly learners. The copping strategies are : prepare and understand the material correctly, find out students’ characteristics, take a breath, and drink. They reduce the anxiety while teaching English for young learners with well prepare and the result are tranquility, believe, and pleasures. Languange is important for all human beings in the world, we can communicate with each other from around the world..The main objective of this research entilted “The Correlation between Reading Habit and Translating Abiliy ” is to know whether there is correlation between reading habit and translating ability at the eleventh grade student senior high school This research used quantitative method. The sample in this research were 30 students of class eleventh grade senior high school. The instrument used questionnaire about reading habit and translating tests, then they are calculated by using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). With no significant level robs = 0.119, the result of the test shows that there is negative correlation between reading habit and translating ability with correlation value r is 0.533. It can be concluded that there is a no significant relationship between reading habit and translating ability of the eleventh grade students of senior high school with low level correlation. This means that reading habits no effect for translating ability.Keyword : Correlation, Reading Habit, Translating Ability

This study was conducted to improve speaking skill of the first grade at SMP N 1 Pangkalan. The game was proposed in the teaching of speaking, because that is attracting and interesting, especially for students' speaking skill. The improvement of the students' score can be seen in the increased of the students' speaking from the preliminary study (pre-test) and the score after the implementation (post-test) of the teaching speaking using shake chopsticks game. This research used a pre-experiment method by using one group pre-test and post-test design. The subject of this research were VII students of SMP N 1 Pangkalan of the 2017/2018 academic years. The finding showed that the students' score of speaking increased after being taught by using shake chopsticks game. This indicates that the use of shake chopsticks game is effective in improving students’ speaking ability. Keywords: Speaking skill, game, shake chopticks game

This research is classroom action research that was done in two cycles. The data was gathered through test, observation and interview. This research was conducted in SMPLB-B Prima Bhakti Mulia at Cimahi Utara. The respondents of this research was the eitht grade students. Furthermore, the data from observation and interview showed that there are some benefits, those are the increasing of students’ participation in the class, increasing of students’ writing interest and fun learning’s atmosphere. With the used of pictures series make easily understand and write the descriptive text for the deaf and hard to hearing learners. The findings showed that In Cycle 1, there were 5 students (74%) of 7 students who achieved the minimum passing grade and the remaining 2 students (26%) who had not achieved, the highest score research is 80 and the lowest score achievement is 55. This cycle is not successful because it does not reach the success criteria. In Cycle 2, there were 6 students (82%) who achieved minimum passing grade and there were 1 students (18%) of the students who did not pass the minimum passing grade, the highest achievement score in this cycle is 90 and the lowest achievement score is 60. This indicates that picture series had significance improve on students’ writing ability for deaf and hard of hearing learners.

Listening is skill that seem very difficult to be mastered, because it needs more attention and concentration to comprehend the sounds (listening material).Teachers always uses their students, they may become interesting for one of the teaching which can make the students milirtes in studying is listening to song’s. They will not understand what they study wel as a result, the use of song is impelemented in this research to improve students’ listening skill. The researcher uses classroom action research method with 2 cycles at seven grade Students of MTs Nurul Wahab. Pre test is given to students before treatment while post test given in each cycle. The data analysis is conducted by calculating the mean score of each post test and compare it with minimum standard score (KKM).As the result, the pre test mean score is 59.3. The post test cycle 1 is 69.4 and the post test 2 is 77.5. The data shows students’ improvement in each cycle, There are 42% of students who pass KKM in pre test, 66% students pass KKM in post test 1 and 87.5% of students pass KKM in post test 2. By calculating the percentage of each test, 75% of students pass KKM. Key Words: Song, Listening , Classroom Action Researchl
