Abstract

Background : Agility is defined as a fast movement of the whole body with a change of speed or direction in response to a stimulus. It is an important motor skill in sports that involve multi-directional changes. Methods: This research is an experimental study using a quasi-experimental design using the pre test-post test two group design method. This study aims to determine the differences in the effectiveness of zig-zag running training with shuttle run training on agility in soccer players. The number of samples was 24 people using total sampling which were divided randomly into 2 groups, namely treatment group 1 which was given zig-zag running training, as many as 12 people and treatment group 2 which was given shuttle run training as many as 12 people using the Illinois agility run test measurement .Results: Based on the analysis of the Wilcoxon Test, it shows that zig-zag running practice can produce significant agility changes with an average increase of 1.14 seconds and p value = 0.002 (p <0.05), while shuttle run training also produces changes in agility which is significant with an average increase of 0.50 seconds and a value of p = 0.002 (p <0.05). Based on the analysis of the Mann-Whitney test, it was found that there was a significant difference in effectiveness between the zig-zag running exercise and the shuttle run with a value of p = 0.001 (p <0.05), seen from the mean value indicating that the zig-zag running exercise was more effective than the shuttle run practice. Conclusion: The zig-zag running exercise is more effective than the shuttle run exercise on the agility of football players at the Makassar Kebatakan Sports High School. Keywords : Zig-Zag run, Shuttle run, illinois agility run test, agility

Abstract

Background: Osteoarthritis of the knee is a degenerative disease associated with joint cartilage damage. In general, people with osteoarthritis of the knee experience pain when supporting their weight, especially when walking and going up and down stairs. Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental study with a randomized pre test-post test control group design, aiming to determine the difference in effectiveness between the combination of Microwave Diathermy (MWD), Strengthening Exercise, Functional Exercise and the combination of Microwave Diathermy (MWD), Strengthening Exercise for functional improvement of the knee in patients with knee osteoarthritis, carried out at the RSU Physiotherapy Poly. Dr. Tadjuddin Chalid Makassar with a sample of 16 patients who fit the inclusion criteria, were randomly divided into 2 groups: the treatment group was given MWD, Strengthening and Functional exercise and the control group was given MWD and Strengthening. Results: Based on the analysis of the paired sample t test, the value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05) was obtained in the treatment and control groups, which means that the combination of MWD, Strengthening, Functional Exercise and the combination of MWD, Strengthening Exercise can provide significant functional improvement of the knee in knee osteoarthritis sufferers. The results of the independent sample t test obtained a value of p = 0.008 which means that there was a significant difference between the two sample groups in functional improvement of the knee. Conclusion: It can be concluded that the combination of Microwave Diathermy, Strengthening and Functional Exercise is more effective than Microwave Diathermy and Strengthening Exercise in improving functional knee in patients with knee osteoarthritis. Keywords: Microwave Diathermy, Strengthening Exercise, Functional Exercise, Knee Functional, Knee Osteoarthritis

Abstract

Background: Explosive power or power is a combination of two biomotoric elements, namely speed and strength combined to produce power. To increase power, the training provided must pay attention to the elements of speed and strength in order to get maximum results. Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental study using a two-group pre test and post test design, aiming to determine the difference in the effect of knee tuck jump training and skipping on changes in leg muscle explosive power of basketball players at furry ball clubs Makassar. This research was conducted at the Makassar furry ball club with a sample of 12 people who fit the inclusion criteria, divided randomly into 2 groups, namely the treatment group 1 which was given knee tuck jump training and the treatment group 2 which was given skipping practice. The measuring tool used is the vertical jump test. Results: Based on the Wilcoxon test analysis in treatment group 1 and treatment group 2, a value of (.028) was obtained (.028) p <0.05, which means that there was a significant effect in treatment group 1 and treatment group 2 on increasing the explosive power of the limb muscles of basketball players in the club Makassar furry ball. The results of the Mann-Whitney test obtained a value of (.179) p> 0.05 which means that there was no significant difference between the two sample groups, but seen from the mean value it showed that the knee tuck jump exercise resulted in an increase in muscle explosive power that was greater than skipping exercise. Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is no significant difference in effect between giving knee tuck jump training and skipping to changes in leg muscle explosive power in basketball players at the Makassar furry ball club. Keywords: Muscle explosive power, Knee Tuck Jump, Skipping, Vertical Jump Test

Abstract

Background: Preschool age is a golden age for the child's development process where at that age the cognitive, physical, motor and psychosocial aspects of a child develop optimally, but a lack of stimulation in the form of physical activity and media can cause children's fine motor skills to fail. perfectly developed. Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental study with a pre test – post test with control group design, aiming to determine the difference in effectiveness between the combination of brain gymnastics and groove board maze educational games, brain gymnastics alone, and placebo (without intervention) on improving fine motor skills in Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Kindergarten, Malimongan Tua branch, Makassar city, carried out at Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Kindergarten, Malimongan Tua Branch, Makassar City, with a sample of 30 children who experienced delays in fine motor development according to inclusion criteria, divided according to randomized into 3 groups: the treatment group was given brain gymnastics and educational maze board game tools, the control group was given brain exercises, and the placebo group (without intervention). Results: Based on the Wilcoxon test analysis, p <0.05 was obtained in 3 sample groups, which means that the three sample groups produced a significant increase in fine motor skills. Based on the results of the One Away Anova test, a p value <0.05 was obtained, which means that there was a significant difference between the combination of brain gymnastics and the groove board maze educational game tool, brain exercise alone, and without intervention on improving fine motor skills in kindergarten children. Conclusion: the combination of brain gymnastics and the groove board maze educational game tool is most effective than brain gymnastics alone and without intervention in improving fine motor skills in Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Ranting Malimongan Tua Kindergarten children. Keywords: Brain gym, educational game tool maze groove board, fine motor skills, preschool age children

Abstract

Background: Ischialgia is pain that is felt along the sciatic nerve and continues along the leg. Ischialgia can be caused by a herniated nucleus pulposus which causes radicular pain due to disc pressure on the nerve roots exiting the intervertebral foramen. Ischialgia can cause functional lumbar barriers in carrying out daily activities, especially sitting for a long time, walking long distances and standing for a long time. Methods: This study was a pre-experimental study with a one group pretest-posttest design, aiming to determine the effect of TENS and McKenzie Exercise on improving lumbar function in patients with ischialgia due to lumbar HNP. This research was conducted at Pangkajene and Kepulauan Hospital, with the sample being ischialgia sufferers due to lumbar HNP who fit the inclusion criteria. The number of samples was 28 people who were given treatment in the form of TENS and McKenzie Exercise 12 times. Lumbar functional measurement using the Oswestry disability index. Results: Based on the descriptive test in this study, the mean lumbar functional value before treatment was 44.839 to 29.336 with a difference of 15.504 after treatment. The statistical results using the Wilcoxon test show that p = 0.000 is less than α = 0.05 (p < α) which means that the working hypothesis is accepted. Conclusion: TENS and McKenzie Exercise have a significant effect on improving lumbar function in patients with sciatica due to lumbar HNP.Keywords: Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation, McKenzie Exercise, Lumbar Functional, Lumbar HNP
