Abstract

In the rapidly evolving digital era, the demands of modern life necessitate that parents be more productive. Busy daily lives often make it difficult for parents to directly monitor their children's activities, especially when they are at school. One of the main concerns is pocket money management. In this study, the DevOps (Development and Operations) method was used because its development cycle is easier to control, faster, and more flexible in detecting errors. Meanwhile, RFID is used to help facilitate digital transactions. As a result of this system, transactions are recorded in real time, and parents can monitor the use of their children's pocket money through the website, thereby increasing transparency, reducing waste, and facilitating financial oversight. This system also includes transactions that can be integrated with digital payments through a virtual account, allowing parents to top up their balance from home. It is hoped that this system can be an innovative solution for managing children's pocket money in educational settings.

Abstract

This study presents a critical evaluation of Bootstrap and Tailwind CSS as front-end frameworks for developing modern, adaptive, and structured web interfaces. The research background highlights that previous studies have primarily focused on Bootstrap, whereas Tailwind CSS has received relatively limited academic attention. A descriptive comparative approach was employed by developing a simple web prototype using both frameworks. The analysis focused on several aspects, including lines of code, maintainability, design flexibility, responsiveness, and development time. The findings indicate that Bootstrap excels in rapid implementation and consistent design, making it suitable for beginners and projects requiring uniformity. In contrast, Tailwind CSS demonstrates efficiency in code utilization and provides higher design flexibility, though it requires more time and expertise in the initial phase. In conclusion, framework selection should be context-driven: Bootstrap is more suitable for projects demanding speed and consistency, while Tailwind CSS is preferable for projects requiring unique and adaptive design.

Abstract

The Information Technology Division of PAM JAYA faces challenges in asset management due to the continued use of manual, spreadsheet-based methods, which lead to tracking difficulties, data loss risks, and delays in reporting. This study aims to design and develop SIMASPAM (Sistem Informasi Manajemen Aset PAM JAYA), a web-based asset management information system, to improve efficiency, accuracy, and integration in asset administration. The system was developed using the Agile methodology, which supports iterative development and flexibility in responding to changing user needs. It is built with the CodeIgniter 3 framework using the Model View-Controller (MVC) architecture, integrated with the SB Admin 2 template, and uses MySQL as the database. Key features include asset recording and monitoring, maintenance and disposal management, asset tracking via QR Codes, report generation in PDF format, and automated email notifications for maintenance reminders. The system was tested using the Blackbox method, and results showed that all functionalities performed as expected. SIMASPAM was implemented locally using XAMPP and is designed to be further developed, including the potential for integration with other systems. This study demonstrates that SIMASPAM has the potential to improve work efficiency and data accuracy in asset management for the Information Technology Division of PAM JAYA.

Abstract

The development of digital image processing technology enables automatic object identification with high accuracy. This study aims to classify images of musical instruments, namely maracas, guitars, and drums, using a combination of K-Means-based color segmentation and Gray Level Co-Occurrence Matrix (GLCM) feature extraction. The process begins with converting RGB images into the Lab color space, followed by object segmentation using the K-Means clustering algorithm to separate the main object from the background. Subsequently, shape features (metric, eccentricity) and texture features (contrast, correlation, energy, homogeneity) are extracted using GLCM. The extracted features are then compared with a feature database using a distance-based approach to determine the object class. Experimental results show that the system can successfully recognize maracas, guitar, and drum images with a satisfactory accuracy level. This research demonstrates that the combination of K-Means and GLCM methods can serve as an effective approach for musical instrument image classification and has the potential to be further developed for object recognition in other fields

Abstract

The development of computer hardware requires appropriate automatic identification methods to assist in inventory, maintenance, and learning processes. Manual identification methods for hardware such as RAM, SSD, and webcams are often ineffective due to the difficulty of distinguishing their visual forms, especially for those who are unfamiliar with them. This study aims to apply image processing techniques using the K-Means clustering method to identify these three types of devices. The system was created using MATLAB with a graphical user interface (GUI) for ease of use. The process begins by capturing images in RGB format, which are then converted to Lab* color space. Segmentation is performed using the K-Means clustering method, which divides objects from the background into two clusters. The segmentation results are then refined using morphological operations. Next, shape features and texture features are extracted using Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM), which includes contrast, correlation, energy, and homogeneity. The features obtained are compared with the database using Euclidean distance to determine the type of hardware. The test results show that the system is able to accurately distinguish between RAM, SSD, and webcams. In conclusion, the use of K-Means clustering, GLCM, and distance-based classification can be an effective solution in identifying computer hardware through images.

Abstract

Digital image processing is a branch of computer science that plays a significant role in automating object identification processes. This study presents the implementation of the K-Means Clustering algorithm for detecting the shape and material of drinking glasses based on digital images. The research methodology involves several stages, including image data collection, color space conversion from RGB to Lab, image segmentation using K-Means Clustering, and feature extraction of shape and texture. The K-Means algorithm is employed to cluster image pixels into multiple groups according to color similarity and texture patterns, thereby enabling the classification of glasses based on their material (glass, plastic, or clay) and shape. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves a high level of accuracy in object identification and can be effectively implemented within a Matlab-based system. Consequently, this approach offers a potential solution for the automation of drinking container identification in various industrial and research applications.

Abstract

Advances in digital image processing technology and machine learning, such as clustering, have contributed to increased efficiency in various sectors, including marine and fisheries. Octopus, lobsters, and shellfish are high-value fishery commodities that have traditionally been classified manually, with the potential for subjectivity and inefficiency. This study aims to develop a digital image classification model for marine biota using the K-Means Clustering method equipped with image processing techniques. The methods applied include converting the RGB color space to L*a*b, segmentation with K-means, shape feature extraction (metric, eccentricity) and GLCM texture (contrast, correlation, energy, homogeneity). The results show that this method is effective in identifying the three types of marine biota with an average accuracy of 95% based on testing on 30 images. The implementation of K-means Clustering has been proven to be accurate and consistent in the automation of marine biota classification.

Abstract

In higher education, the undergraduate thesis represents a tangible contribution of students to the development of scientific knowledge. In the field of Environmental Engineering, student research often focuses on issues that are closely related to both local and global environmental challenges. This study aims to analyze the main themes of undergraduate theses written by Environmental Engineering students in East Java using the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) method. The research data were collected from thesis titles and abstracts obtained from several universities. Through the application of LDA, several dominant themes were identified, including waste management, water quality, air pollution reduction, and the application of environmental treatment technologies. The results indicate that LDA is capable of uncovering research patterns and clustering topics that reflect the primary concerns of students in this field. These findings not only provide insights into the current research trends among students but also serve as a reference for curriculum development, research planning, and academic decision-making. Thus, this study contributes to improving the quality of education while mapping future research directions in Environmental Engineering.

Abstract
