Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the critical thinking skills of junior high school students in solving mathematical problems in terms of their learning styles, especially the two-variable linear system material. This type of research is qualitative research. Data collection techniques used critical thinking tests, interviews, and field notes. The subjects of this study were 2 class VIII students who were selected purposively, namely students with visual and auditory learning styles. The research instrument that became the main instrument was the researcher himself who was supported by a critical thinking test instrument for two-variable linear system material. The results of this study indicate that (1) The ability to think critically in solving mathematics problems in visual learning style students has met all the FRISCO critical thinking indicators (focus, reason, inference, situation, clarity, overview) in doing tests and interviews, because of the characteristics of this type. visual learning styles are better able to interpret mathematical objects visually before solving mathematical problems. (2) The ability to think critically in solving mathematical problems in auditory learning style students using the FRISCO critical thinking indicators (focus, reason, inference, situation, clarity, overview) two indicators are not met in the reason and overview indicators. Students with auditory learning styles still have the potential to develop their critical thinking skills, they just need a different treatment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk etnomatematika pada makanan tradisional sekaligus meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada siswa. Disisi lain penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan modul dari segi kevalidan, kepraktisan dan keefektifan. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model Borg and Gall. Hasil penelitian ini berupa modul matematika berbasis etnomatematika makanan tradisional dengan dua tahapan uji yang memenuhi kriteria valid dengan rata-rata 3,04 dan kriteria praktis dengan rata-rata skor 3,5. Begitu juga dengan kriteria kefektifan, modul ini, telah mencapai tujuan pembelajaran setelah dianalisis dengan statistis uji t berpasangan yang hasilnya mengalami kenaikan secara signifikan. Dari data yang telah dianalisis, modul yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria kelayakan untuk digunakan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation abilities of SMP IT Permata Bunda Islamic Boarding School Bandar Lampung students in terms of their learning styles. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out by means of a learning style questionnaire, written tests, and interviews. The subjects to be observed were carried out through a purposive sampling technique so that 6 students in class IX were obtained, each of whom had a visual learning style, auditory learning style, and kinesthetic learning style which would then be analyzed using technical triangulation based on the results of representational ability tests and interviews to draw conclusions. of this study to answer the formulation of the problem. The data will be arranged sequentially using data analysis techniques carried out through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions/verification. The analysis was developed based on indicators of representational ability by taking into account the learning styles of students. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that students with a dominant visual learning style with visual representation abilities, students with a dominant auditory learning style with verbal representation abilities, and students with a kinesthetic learning style are more dominant with their visual representation abilities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan desain instrumen tes berorientasi HOTS yang valid, praktis, dan memiliki efek potensial terhadap kemampuan berpikir tinggi siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalan penelitian ini adalah design research tipe development study yang terdiri dari dua tahap yaitu tahap preliminary dan formative evaluation. Dari hasil komentar validator pada tahap expert riview dan uji one to one diketahuui bahwa instrumen tes berorientasi HOTS ini telah valid dari segi konstruk, konten, dan bahasa. Valid dari segi konten adalah instrumen yang dibuat telah sesuai dengan karakter soal HOTS, Capaian Pembelajaran (CP), dan Alur Tujuan Pembelajaran (ATP). Instrumen yang dibuat sesuai dengan level kemampuan siswa yang terefleksikan dengan CP dan dengan dimensi HOTS yang artinya valid dari segi konstruk. Sedangkan penggunaan EYD, komunikatif, dan artikulatif pada instrumen merupakan aspek yang telah terpenuhi secara validitas bahasa. Dari hasil angket respons siswa pada tahap small group diketahui bahwa soal mudah dimengerti, mudah digunakan, dan dapat diadministrasikan serta diinterpretasikan oleh siswa dengan baik dan memilliki tingkat kepraktisan sebesar 79% atau berkategori praktis. Sementara efek potensial yang muncul pada tahap field test berupa kemampuan menganalisis (C4) dan mengevaluasi (C5).

Abstract

The structure of the mathematical connection is an illustration the students' steps in building mathematical connections. This study aims to analyze the structure of the mathematical connection of climber students in solving the problems of the Linear Equation System Three Variable. This research is a qualitative research. The subjects of this study were 2 students of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Salaman. The technique of taking the subject is using purposive sampling. Data collection techniques used mathematical connection ability tests, field notes, and interview. The instruments used mathematical connection ability test, and interview guide. The results showed that the mathematical connection structure of climber students in solving LESTV problems fulfilled four components in building mathematical connections, namely starting with mathematical understanding where climber students were able to recognize mathematical ideas by understanding information from the questions. Both mathematical representations, by being able to represent in the form of a linear equation of three variables by connecting between mathematical ideas. The third is mathematical connections, where climber students can connect ideas from linear equations of three variables to get a solution. Fourth, there is mathematical reasoning, with climber students being able to relate and use concepts in LESTV material that are interconnected to produce a coherent whole.
