Abstract

This study aims to determine students creative thinking skills in solving arithmetic progression and series problems with the open-ended method. The research method used is a qualitative method with a case study approach. The selection of subjects uses a purposive technique that is based on certain characteristics. The subjects in this study were 3 junior high school students selected in the category of high matematical abilities. Methods of collecting data using tests, interviews, field notes, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used the triangulation method to gain deeper understanding of the subject under study. Based on the results of the study show the ability of creative thinking of students because it meets the three indicators of creative thinking, namely fluency: students are able to calculate smoothly and solve problems correctly, flexibility: students are able to find other ways to find the same results, novelty: students are able to think in new ways and different from other subjects.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the influence of 1) motivation on mathematical problem solving skills with TTW strategy, 2) skills of understanding of mathematical problem solving skills with TTW strategies, 3) motivation and skills understanding of mathematical problem solving skills with TTW strategies. Data collection techniques using tests, questionnaires, and observations. The test instrument for problem solving ability amounted to 10 items, the questionnaire amounted to 30 items, while the observation instrument amounted to 15 items. Test instruments and questionnaires were first tested in the trial class to determine validity and reliability. Data analysis using a simple linear regression test and multiple regression, with a significance level of 5%. The results were obtained 1) motivation influences the ability of mathematical problem solving with TTW strategy with a degree of influence 60.59%, 2) comprehension skills affect the ability to solve mathematical problems with TTW strategies with an effect of 59.3%, 3) motivation and comprehension skills affect the ability to solve mathematical problems with the TTW strategy with a 65.99% effect.Keywords: Motivation, Understanding Skills, Mathematical Problem Solving Ability, Think Talk Write Strategy

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a culture-based mathematics learning model through traditional Javanese games and find out the feasibility so that it could be used for elementary school students. This development research uses the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Through these stages of development, it  produce culture-based mathematics learning model through traditional Javanese games products with the main products in the form of model books, student books, teacher books, syllabus, lesson plans, and student worksheets. The research subjects were 19 fourth grade students at Klegenwonosari Elementary School. The data collection techniques in this study were carried out test and non-test. The data analysis technique in this study was in scores and percentages. Starting from the needs analysis of learning models, culture-based needs analysis, and curriculum analysis it is known that the use of mathematical learning models through traditional games has been done but outside learning, students were lack of knowledge about the traditional Javanese culture games that were Gobag Sodor and Engklek. Based on the results of the study, the mathematical learning model through traditional Javanese games fulfills the valid criteria with an average score of 3.79 from the model expert's assessment. Fulfill the effective criteria by obtaining the results of completeness of students 84.21% and get very positive students responses with a percentage of 90.90%. Therefore, Culture-based Mathmatics learning model through traditional Javanese games is suitable for elementary students. Keywords: traditional Javanes games, mathematics models, ethnomatematics

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui level penalaran aljabar siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini 3 siswa kelas V sekolah dasar di Purworejo. Teknik pengambilan subjek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah snowball. Pengumpulan data menggunakan aktivitas pembelajaran dengan media pendukung berupa Lembar Kerja Siswa, lembar obser-vasi, catatan lapangan dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dari Miles & Hubermen yang meliputi tiga aktivitas yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat aktivitas pada pembelajaran matematika yang belum masuk pada level penalaran aljabar yang dikemukakan oleh Godino yaitu level 1,5. Tahapan tersebut terlewati secara bertahap dari level 0 sampai level 3 dan melewati level 1,5 yaitu mengaitkan konsep bangun persegi dengan simbol aljabar sebelum sampai pada level 2. Aktivitas subjek yang dilakukan pada level ini lebih pada pengkaitan objek dengan konsep lain dalam pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the mathematical connection in problem solving. Metode of qualitative research. The subject of this study were two ninth graders of junior high school in with a purposive technique. The research instrument was a mathematical connection test problem. The data analysis technique uses three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that students complate aspects of mathematical connections, namely: Aspects of mathematical connections in mathematical problems such as: Students understand the relationship between existing mathematical topics by writing down the equation model as ideas of the problems. Students are able to find the relationship between existing procedures and other procedures in representation with the equivalent concept shown by writing the two-variable linear system material equation. Students apply the relationship between mathematics, and between mathematical material with mathematical material by finding the value of equations. Students are able to use mathematical connections with mathematics or other fields of science using mathematics with economics to determine the number of purchases with capital, and aspects of mathematical connections with everyday life, namely; Students use procedures and concepts from one another according to the question data. The ability of students to use mathematics in everyday life in the context of buying and selling using capital, amount, profit. So, as a whole the mathematical connection ability of junior high school students complate the indicators and into the high connection category. Abstract

This qualitative research aims to describe activity of students mathematical combinatorial thinking in constructing of the opportunity concept. The subject of the study is two students of Junior High School who had the ability in constructing concept. Data collection was obtained at the time of learning carried out based on learning plan as research instruments. The results showed a combinatorial thinking activity in constructing concepts. Counting processes are showen by students identifying dice and coins, solving theoritical opportunities problems with tables or diagrams, and solving empirical opportunities problems. Formulas/exspressions are showen by students being able to construct sampel points and sample space, construct theoritical opportunities concept, and make mathematical formulas of opportunities. Set of outcomes is showen by students being able to find the results of solving theoritical opportunity problems of one/or more dice and coins as well as the results of solving empirically opportunity problems.Keywords: combinatorial thinking, constructing concept, opportunity

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi pada siswa introvert dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII A SMPN 2 Sruweng tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 berjumlah 2 siswa dengan teknik pengambilan subjek menggunakan purposive. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan 3 metode yaitu tes penyelesaian masalah matematika, catatan lapangan dan wawancara. Instrumen penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti, tes penyelesaian masalah matematika dan pedoman wawancara. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi tiga langkah yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian yaitu menunjukkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa introvert pada aspek menganalisis mampu menguraikan informasi dan menggunakan strategi yang tepat sehingga memperoleh suatu jawaban yang benar. Kemudian, pada aspek mengevaluasi mampu menilai dan menarik sebuah pendapat atas keputusan yang diperoleh dari hasil menyelesaian soal

Abstract

The learning mathematics to students will be easier to master and understand the concept of linear equation material of one variable through the ROPES learning model. This study aims to determine that with the application of ROPES learning model on linear equation material of one variable can improve students’ learning result, students’ activities, and teachers’ performance. The subject of this study is the students of class VII B in the first semester at MTS Matholiul Ulum Banjaragung, Bangsri, Jepara in 2019/2020. Instruments were tests sheet and questionnaires. The type of this research is a classroom action research with two cycles where each cycle there are two meetings. The stages include planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The results showed an increase in student's ability to solve problems about linear equations of one variable. Based on reflection results in cycles 1 and II, it showed: 1) Students’ learning result is increased, in the cycle I the average result was 64.90 and in cycle II reached 73.18. 2) In cycle I of the first meeting was 59.67% categorized ‘enough’. The second was 6601% categorized ‘good’, and in the cycle II reached 81.15% categorized ‘very good’. 3) Increased teacher performance in the first cycle was 60% categorized medium, the second meeting reached 70% categorized high, and in cycle II reached 80% categorized very high.Kata kunci: Mathematical Learning Result, ROPES Learning Model.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to get results of interactive CD development valid, practical and effective statistical material. The type of this research is development research which refers to ADDIE (Analysis, Desigh, Development, Implementation aand Evaluatin). The subject of this research is xi grade of SMK Bhakti Praja 2 Batang. The instrument used in this research is (1) media expert evaluation questionnaire (2) material expert evaluation questionmire (3) student response questionnaire (4) student evaluation questions. The method used in gathering the data is, by doing observations, questionnaires, tests, and documentation. The results of this study show the validty quality of the interactive CD meetr valid criteria shown by media experts who obtained and average score of 3,8 from maximum score 4 which is good, while material experts get 4,1 from maximum score 5 which means good. Quality of practicality of learning devices practical criteria indicate by the average score of student 4,01 from maximum score 5 which means good. Quality of effectiveness of learning devices in terms of students’ mathematical communication skills meet practical criteria shown by the percentage of students completeness 87,5% which means good. Of the 32 student, there are 28 students who had completed grads.Kata kunci: Development, Interactive CD, ADDIE model.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fakta belum tersedianya bahan ajar yang sesuai dengan latar belakang budaya yang ada pada siswa di Indonesia.Oleh karena itu, hasil akhir dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan produk yang berupa Lembar Kerja Siswa matematika yang menggabungkan materi dan nilai budaya khususnya Candi Borobudur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kevalidan produk LKS Sekolah Dasar berbasis Etnomatematika dengan setting Candi Borobudur pada materi bangun datar. Model pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Pada penelitian ini  hanya meliputi tahap analysis, tahap design, dan tahap development. Penelitian ini telah menghasilkan Lembar Kerja Siswa yang mengintegrasikan Etnomatematika Candi Borobudur pada materi bangun datar yang valid. Kriteria kevalidan diperoleh dari penilaian 6 validator yaitu 2 ahli media dengan rata-rata 3,3, 2 ahli materi dengan rata-rata 3,4 dan 2 ahli pembelajaran dengan skor 3,5. Rata-rata dari keseluruhan penilaian yaitu 3,4 dengan kategori valid.
