Abstract

Introduction: Uric acid is a normal substance found in the body and is the end result of purine metabolism, namely the result of the degradation of purine nucleotides which are important ingredients in the body as components of nucleic acids. The nursing problem that arises in elderly gout patients is chronic pain. The aim of this scientific work aims to explore nursing care for chronic pain in elderly gout patients with warm water compress therapy using lemongrass and ginger at RAAL Griya Asih Lawang. Methods: Using a case study design with nursing care. The subjects of this research were 3 elderly gout patients with chronic pain nursing problems for 3 days, with pain measurement using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and SLKI. and the targeted outcome criteria include the ability to complete activities, complaints of pain, protective attitudes, grimacing, restlessness and difficulty sleeping. The instrument used was the UNITRI gerontic nursing care format. Data was analyzed using the SMART method (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time). Results: From the actions carried out on the three patients for 3 days, it was found that the chronic pain nursing problem in 3 patients was partially resolved with the following criteria: ability to complete activities increased, pain complaints decreased, protective attitude decreased, grimaces decreased, anxiety decreased, difficulty sleeping decreased. Conclusion: Due to limited time in conducting this research, which was only carried out for 3 days, it could affect the results of warm compresses using lemongrass and ginger which could only partially reduce pain complaints. Keywords: chronic pain, gout, warm water compress using lemongrass and ginger.

Abstract

Introduction Indonesia is ranked fifth among countries with the highest burden of stunting children. The role of families becomes very important in understanding and responding the nutritional status of children from the various risks of nutritional problems. This study was aimed to understand caregiver perceptions of child’s stunting. Methods: A qualitative phenomenological approach was conducted. Eleven primary caregivers of stunting children aged 24-60 months were interviewed individually. The recorded interviews were transcribed verbatim and were analyzed using thematic analysis. Results: Two major themes were identified: (i) family perceptions of children’s linear growth; and (ii) family responses in dealing with the growth statusConclusion: Families perceive stunting as a condition of failure to thrive which is characterized by short stature compared to other children of the same age. Families also reported emotional and attitude response upon learning the growth status of toddlers identified as experiencing stunting. The role of health workers is needed to provide emotional and informational supports to families in trying to fulfill nutrition in stunting childrenKeywords: Caregiver Perceptions, Linear Growth Faltering, Nutrition Fullfillment, Stunting

Abstract

Introduction: Cosmetics are a primary need for women to help them appear more attractive, one of the lip coloring cosmetics that is currently in great demand among consumers is lip cream. Lip cream is a liquid lipstick preparation that can moisturize the lips for a long time compared to solid form and produces a more even color on the lips. Lip cream coloring ingredients can be obtained from synthetic dyes and natural dyes. The coloring (pigment) found in red beets is betalain which can be used as an antioxidantMethods: The research method is experimental. This research was carried out to formulate beetroot (Beta vulgaris L.) extract as a natural coloring for lip cream preparations. The independent variable in this research is beetroot (Beta vulgaris L.) extract as a natural coloring and the dependent variable is the physical characteristics of lip cream including organoleptic (shape, color and odor), pH, homogeneity and spread ability. Data analysis is descriptive. Results: The results of this research show that the lip cream preparation has the characteristics of being in a semi-solid form, with a purplish red color, and a distinctive rose smell. The color and smell did not change until day 7. The pH test showed a pH of 3.39 on day 1 and 5.49 on day 7. The homogeneity test showed it was homogeneous until day 7. The spreadability test showed that it could be spread with an average spreadability of 5 cm.Conclusion: This research shows that the lip cream color is dark or thick red in the preparation, organoleptic test, pH test, spreadability is in accordance with the desired design.

Abstract

Introduction: The high commitment of nurses in providing optimal health services to patients is an illustration of the seriousness of nurses to maintain the quality of services provided by hospitals. The aim of the research is todetermine the relationship between motivation and performance commitment of nurses. Methods: The research design used cross sectional. The research population was 65 nurses with a sample size of 56 nurses. Samples were taken using simple random sampling technique. The independent variable is motivation, the dependent variable is nurse performance commitment. The instrument used was a questionnaire. Data analysis used Fisher's exact test. Results: The results of this research show that the majority of respondents have motivation in the good category, some respondents have performance in the good category and there is a relationship between motivation and the performance commitment of nurses with a value of p value = ( 0.018) < (0.05). Conclusion: There is a relationship between motivation and performance commitment of nurses. Factors that affect motivation and performance, namely workload and length of work can be used as topics for future researchKeywords: Motivation, Performance Commitment, Hospitals, Nurses.

Abstract

Introduction: Mechanical CPR mitigate rescuer fatigue and ensure adherence to guidelines, potentially enhancing overall survival rates. Contrarily, manual CPR relies on human skill, presenting challenges in maintaining uniformity and endurance. Unveiling the complexities within this juxtaposition becomes imperative in shaping future resuscitative paradigms. The purposeof studi is to determine the effectiveness of mechanical CPR in cardiac arrest management compared to manual CPRMethods: Database used were Pubmed and Proquest using the keywords "Mechanical CPR", "Automatic CPR Device" and "Cardiac Arrest". The inclusion criteria were last 5 years published, analyzing the effect of automatic CPR devices on cardiac arrest management, as well as full text articles. The inclusion criteria are literature review, systematic review or is not original research. The number of articles eligible for review is 10 journal articlesResults: The use of automatic CPR equipment is still inferior compared to manual CPR during cardiac arrest with the use value being 4-5% of all cardiac arrest patients. There are 4 journals that state that ROSC in cardiac arrest management using automatic CPR devices is higher than manual, but there are 2 journal articles that report the opposite. Automatic CPR device is very vulnerable to injury with fractures reaching 85.5% of total injuries compared to manual CPR which does not experience injury. Conclusion: The use of automatic CPR device does not produce better results than manual CPR overall for ROSC, but is very useful and meaningful in certain conditions such as during the transportation process, therefore, the automatic CPR device is more meaningful for pre-hospital useKeywords: Manual CPR; Mechanical CPR; CPR; OHCA
