Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes Mellitus is a condition when blood sugar levels are in the high category or commonly called hyperglycemia, high blood sugar levels can cause several problems that often arise and can cause several complications that occur. The limited implementation of non-pharmacological progressive muscle relaxation therapy is the basis for the implementation of this research. The purpose of this study was to analyze the management of hyperglycemia in patients with Diabetes Mellitus. Method: Case study design method was used in the study with three clients, namely patients with Diabetes Mellitus. The action given to overcome this with progressive muscle relaxation therapy given 3 times for 3 consecutive days t. This study was conducted at Aisyiyah Hospital Bojonegoro in September 2023. The analysis was carried out using the SMART method (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound goals). The FIKes UMLA Medical Surgical Nursing Care format was used in the data collection process to action evaluation. Results: The results of the case study showed that on the first day of the assessment of the three patients, blood glucose was found to be in the high category. After 3 days, nursing problem of blood glucose instability was resolved, blood glucose levels improved , drowsiness decreased sufficiently, dizziness decreased , fatigue/lethargy decreased sufficiently and complaints of hunger decreased . Conclusion: Progressive Muscle Relaxation Therapy is effective in lowering blood glucose levels. This therapy can be combined with pharmacological therapy such as insulin and oral medications and other treatments needed by patients with diabetes mellitus so that it can help medical personnel in stabilizing blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Introduction: GERD is also called a disease that appears in the stomach and causes gastric disorders. The most common symptoms of GERD are a burning sensation in the throat and chest area, a bitter taste on the tongue, and pain in the heart area. The limited implementation of non-pharmacological deep breathing relaxation therapy using Al-Qur'an murotals is the basis for carrying out research. The purpose of this paper is to analyze acute pain management in patients with GERD Methods: A Case study design was used in this study with a sample size of three patients, namely patients with GERD aged 40-65 years at 'Aisyiyah Bojonegoro Hospital with acute pain nursing problems. The action given to overcome this acute pain by using a combination of deep breath relaxation with Qur'anic murotal given for 3 consecutive days and the pain scale is measured by a numerical pain scale. Data analysis used uses the SMART method (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound goals) Results: The results of the case study on the first day of the three patients felt pain in the abdomen with moderate pain category. The planned nursing intervention action is pain management with pain levels as an outcome criterion. Implementation was carried out for 3 days, the results showed that the patient's pain level decreased with a moderate level of pain scale. Conclusion: Deep breathing relaxation therapy with murotal Al-Qur'an can reduce pain levels in patients with GERD. This can happen because deep breathing relaxation can reduce muscle tension and listening to Al-Qur'an murotals with clear rhythm and intonation can foster a feeling of calm and coolness in the heart so that it can reduce stress that has arisen from pain in GERD patients.

Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is a non-communicable disease and a leading cause of mortality worldwide. One of modifiable risk factor is excess body mass as it is known to facilitate a series of metabolic disturbances. This study aims to determine whether there is an relationship between fat consumption frequency and body mass index with hypertension. Methods: This cross-sectional study, conducted in Dusun Ampel Gading, Mulyoarjo Village, Lawang District, Malang Regency, minimal 44 respondents determined using a two-proportion comparison formula. Participants were selected through convenience sampling. Independent variables included the frequency of consuming foods containing fat and body mass index measured by Food Frequency Questionnaire, while the dependent variable was blood pressure. The Spearman Correlation test was used to analyze the relationship between these variables and hypertension. Results: A total of 50 respondents were obtained. The respondents were predominantly female and adults. Most of them did not have a family with hypertension. Spearman correlation analysis revealed no significant relationship between fat consumption frequency and hypertension (p > 0.05) or between BMI and hypertension (p > 0.05). Conclusion: Effective prevention requires addressing multiple modifiable risk factors beyond fat consumption frequency and BMI, as their interactions are complex. Comprehensive strategies targeting these factors simultaneously are essential.

Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is a non-communicable disease (NCD) which is a severe health problem. This disease is categorized as a silent disease because sufferers do not know they have hypertension before having their blood pressure checked. Checking blood pressure in the elderly, especially in blood pressure sufferers, is one of the routine treatments for preventing the severity of hypertension. And Compliance with blood pressure checks is an important factor in controlling the severity of hypertension. So it is important to check the level of compliance in the elderly. Methods: This research uses an observational approach with data presentation using quantitative descriptives. Checking blood pressure in elderly people with hypertension using a Tensimeter. The number of subjects in this study was 40 elderly people who suffered from hypertension. The level of complience will be checked using a likert scale. The research was conducted in Semangkak village, Klaten district. Results: The level of compliance in the poor category was 40%, in the fair category was 42.5 %, and in the high category was 17.5 %. Conclusion: Based on the results it shows that the level of compliance of elderly people with hypertension in carrying out blood pressure checks is on average in the medium and low categories Keywords: Compliance, Hypertension, Elderly
