Abstract

This Research is based on the difficulty of implementation of the hole installation centered in the middle column. The influence of shifting the hole to column capacity reduction occurs when the hole is shifted towards to the compression area. This study analizes the effect of shifting the hole in rectangular reinforced concrete column against capacity of the column structure decrease. This calculation consists of 144 samples with different compression strength (fc’),reinforcements area, hole area, and dimensions of the column. The analysis is based on the assumption of linear strain distribution in cross section with appropriate stress-strain correlation using Hognestaad equation. Reinforced concrete structural element were analyzedonly experiencing a combination of uniaxial bending moment. The results of the analysis effect of shifting the hollow in rectangular reinforced concrete column decreased capacity of the colomn. The largest decline of the column capacity occured on 100% the shift column holesfrom the hole centered in the middle column on dimension of 600 mm x 600 mm with fc' 30 MPa, reinforcement quality (fy) 400 MPa, reinforcement extensive of 1%, and holes extensive of 7% is 10.38% of axial forces (Pn) and 9.06% of Nominal Moment (Mn). The effect of shifting the hole towards to the compression area is affecting the capacity of hollow in rectangular reinforced concrete column centric decreasing.

Abstract

This research give solution about problem superficiality on port Tapak Paderi, Bengkulu's city. Tapak Paderi porting Bengkulu's city is finished to be built year-end 2008, but condition now was really concerns where port pool was fraught boggy and sand, port entrance was full boggy and sand. Port auxiliary building uncompleted, eventually to build that porting deplete APBN'S fund that by dozens. Process this sedimentation begets to be troubled its city coast regiongrowing Bengkulu already dicanangkan by Bengkulu's Province local government in render Bengkulu's City as “Turism's city”. On this research is assessed how to settle superficiality causative sedimentation on port entrance. Of this research, wave high break average = 0,39 m, perioda undulates average = 8,78 seconds, corner of wave break average = 0,75 degrees, undulate speed average = 0,020 m/dt, current speed average = 0,035 m/dt, Undulate energy average = 190,79 N/m, Flux is energy average = 4,63 j/m, transport is ranging sediment average = 15,75 m3/days. Current aim of north to the south. Of this research is acknowledged that aught sediment on port entrance comes from Water river sediment Bengkulu, effect erosion and effect Stone mining smolders on river upstream. Solution that is given for about problem this is: to settle sedimentation at port entrance therefore on port entrance front assembled by upright Groyns building beaches. Groyns this will prevent its happening sedimentation on portentrance. This Groyns's building functions as building of capturing and keep all sediment who will come in to porting. Cause of in height sediment content on Water river estuary Bengkulu is because mark sense changing manner bring off forest on river upstream and marks sense upriver river coal mining.

Abstract

The Compressed bar at the frame, columns, and other structures is always probably happened buckling. The experiment is conducted to investigate the behavior of buckling at the bar of lath shaped bamboo petung and the buckling strength of  the experiment result with the theory result (the equation of tetmayer and euler, proposal of morisco, and atrops (D/T=0)). In the research, it is conducted testing of the mechanic character of bamboo and wood specimens, testing of resin, and buckling testing  with the compressed testing principle. The testing result showed that buckling happened at the lath shaped bamboo petung is influenced by the length of bar, the resin strength, and the quality of work.   The buckling stress of the experiment result was higher than  the result of  morisco proposal, but it’s less than the result of tetmayer and atrops (D/T=0), so that  the equation of  morisco proposal is safe to used at the compressed bar design.

Abstract

Flash flood is a process flow of heavy water and massive load concentrated is accompanied, also rock chunks, soil and logs (debris) from the upstream. Flash flood’s triggered by climatology and geological factors, landslides and natural damming at the upstream. The rising of water discharge flood process occurs suddenly and rapidly. The research in the Lawe Liang Pangi Watershed, Leuser Sub-district, Southeast Aceh Regency. Based on information, there are heavy rains occurred during the 3 days before the flood. Flooding occurred on Friday evening, August 17, 2012 at 22:00. Occured landslide at 15 locations. The most substantial damage is Naga Timbul, Suka Damae, Sepakat, Gaya Sendah, Punce Nali, and Bun-bun Indah villages. Liang Lawe Pangi watershed topography is mountainous, moderate to steep slope. The soil type is a little fine sandy silt loam and dark brown, and the soil type is erosion susceptible. The river bank stability test results for the two sampling locations, the safety factor in extreme conditions (flooding) is smaller (1,34) than the standard value (1,50). The flood conditions (inundation) is not secure against river bank scour. It is certainly more dangerous when taken by flash floods at a large velocity and followed by massive load. Recommendations for prevention and  mitigation of flash flood disasters in Leuser Sub-district, the disaster prevention and mitigation in the structural measures that to typical flood prone locations and non-structural measures including vegetation and public education work for the land management.

Abstract

Bengkulu province lies on earthquake hazard zone where light and moderate earthquake often occur in relatively high frequency, due to geographical position of the province which is between 2 earthquake belts, Mentawai fault in Indian Ocean on Indo Australia tectonic plate and Sumatra fault around Bukit Barisan. Building failures due to earthquake mostly occur on residential structures. Although failures and damages due to earthquake generate major impact on residential structures, no lesson on the importance of mitigation by applying earthquake resistant structures on residential buildings is learned yet. Typical residential structures failures or damages that occur in Bengkulu city is mostly on engineered and non engineered brick wall. Since no available method of earthquake event prediction, hence mitigation is more important in order to prevent major loss and disaster any further. Hence socialization on earthquake and earthquake resistant structures/houses particularly on structural failure and damages that occurred in Bengkulu to the community is needed, also to transfer knowledge to the community about how to prepare residential buildings in earthquake hazard zones. By providing practical guidance about earthquake resistant residential buildings, socialization and technical training for construction workers, it is expected that the actions are able to assist the community to construct their residential buildings that comply to earthquake resistance standards and suits the particular needs of local residents, hence minimizing the effect of loss due to earthquake, usually defined as earthquake mitigation. Earthquake resistant residential buildings must comply standards ofmaterial and construction method.

Abstract

Tapak Paderi Beach have got many damages, such as abrasion, and sedimentation by waves. This research was made to find out wind effect as the secondary within significant wave height (Hs) and the structure of breakwater design at Tapak Paderi. This research used secondary data from the last ten years wind circulation (2002-2012) and a rising-subsiding data (May as the strongest one in 2009). The resources of data come from Meteorology and Geophysics Corporation (BMKG) II class Pulau Baai and Waskita Karya Manufactory for a dimensional data includes an illustration of breakwater construction. Also, primary data involves a report survey of wave height directly to Tapak Paderi location, Bengkulu. In accordance to the analysis, those data were obtained through the calculation of breakwater within sideway type. The calculation process resorted to worksheet program, 2,832 meters for significant wave height (Hs), and 8,399 seconds for significant period (Ts). The other calculation result is a set of wave condition which devised in the breakwater field will get breaking wave because of db>dLWL>dHWL, 5,385 meters for the peak of breakwater elevation, 6,435 meters for breakwater height, 3,867 tons for stones weight (W), 3,913 meters for peak width (B), and for the thickness of shelter layer (t) which made from three layers, 2,609 meters t1, 1,211 meters t2 ,0,446 meters for t3, and total of stones for each 10 m2 (N) is sixteen grain of stones. The last, these value have been used for redesign of sideway type.
