Abstract

Cananga flowers can be taken cananga oil and ornamental flowers. Cananga can be reproduced generatively. Vegetative propagation is still difficult, both with cuttings, grafts, grafting and tissue culture. Plant propagation by cuttings, a problem that is often faced is the difficulty of cuttings in forming roots, to overcome this problem can be used to grow stimulants that can stimulate rooting cuttings. Hormones are growth stimulants which naturally occur in plants both in leaves and fruit, one of which is in coconuts. The purpose of this study was (i) to determine the effect of various natural hormone ingredients on the growth of cananga cuttings, and (ii) to obtain the best natural hormone ingredients that influence the growth of cananga cuttings. This research was carried out on STIPER Amuntai land and greenhouses from July to August 2012. This experiment used a single randomized block design (RBD), grouping based on plant sires. The factors studied were various natural hormone ingredients (H), consisting of 4 levels, namely: h1 = old coconut water, h2 = young coconut water, h3 = red onion and h4 = cow urine. Each treatment consisted of 4 treatments and 6 groups, so that there were 24 experimental units. The experimental results show that the application of various natural hormones is not able to increase the growth of cananga cuttings. The best natural hormones are not obtained even though by observation of natural hormones that are able to maintain vigority cuttings better is young coconut water (h2).

Abstract

The research aimed to examine food consumption and nutritional status in the household of indigenous people “Dayak” which resided at the low line of Mahakam river, and to conduct the study on social, culture, and economic factors which affected the food consumption. The research result showed average energy and protein consumption per person was 2.000,7 kcal and 71,0 gram which the actual energy consumption level was 100,04 % and actual protein consumption level was 136,5 %. The value of actual energy consumption level was in the good category ((>100% of RDA) and actual protein consumption level was in the good category (>100% of RDA). When the nutritional status of children under five was related to energy consumption level of household, the prevalence of malnutrition was in the low and deficit category for energy consumption level of household; and the good nutritional status tended to be in the sufficient and good category for energy consumption level of household. The estimation was also supported by the Pearson Correlation of p=0.0001 and r=0.692. It could be understood their was highly significant relationship of nutritional status of children under five and the energy consumption level of household. The socio-culture, economic factors which affected food consumption of household were : nutritional awareness of mother (p=0.016), food preference (p=0.023), food avoidance (p=0.000), inequality of member in the household (p=0.000), and income level of household (p=0.001)

Abstract

One type of pest damage is the armyworm (Spodoptera litura F.) which is quite significant in attacking many vegetable plants. To be able to control armyworm pests in vegetable crops, it is necessary to experiment with controlling armyworm pests using local entomopathogenic nematodes Steinernema spp. Isolates. The use of nematodes proved to be able to kill target pests. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of entomopathogenic nematodes (Steinernema spp.) local isolates of Hulu Sungai Utara Regency in the control of armyworm (Spodoptera litura F.) The study was conducted at the STIPER Amuntai Laboratory and in peanuts planting Pinangkara Village Amuntai Tengah District of Hulu Sungai Utara Regency to obtain armyworms. The study was conducted in January - March 2008. Analysis of the data used in this experiment was Annova RAL analysis followed by DMRT test if the treatment had a significant or very real effect. The results showed that the entomopathogenic nematode Steinernema spp. significantly affected the mortality of Spodoptera litura larvae. The results showed that the symptoms of Steinernema spp. Nematodes. against S. litura larvae 24 hours after application found larvae that were no longer actively involved.

Abstract

Peatlands have the potential to be used as agricultural development even though a number of obstacles are encountered, such as the chemical, physical and biological characteristics of the soil. Chemical constraints such as low pH, high C / N ratio, low P, K, Ca and Mg content. Efforts to increase soil pH and soil fertility by fertilizing. Bokashi is an organic fertilizer made using effective microorganism technology. The aim of the study (i) is to know the effect and (ii) to get the best dosage of sawdust bokashi on the growth and yield of Japanese cucumber plants on peat soil. Implemented in the Greenhouse Faculty of Agriculture Unlam Banjarbaru in March - June 2002, using a single Randomized Complete Design (CRD) factor. The factors studied were the treatment of sawdust bokashi dose (B) as many as seven levels, namely b1 = 2.5 t.ha - 1, b2 = 5 t.ha - 1, b3 = 7.5 t.ha -1, b4 = 10 t.ha -1 and b5 = 12.5 t.ha -1, b6 = 15.0 t.ha-1, b7 = 17.5 t.h-1. The variables observed were plant height aged 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 days after planting (DAP), the age of the first flowering, when the first fruit was formed, at the first harvest, fruit length, fruit diameter, number of fruits per plant and weight per fruit. plant. The treatment had no effect on plant height variables at ages 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 DAP, when the first flowering, when the first fruit was formed, at the first harvest, fruit diameter and number of fruits per plant. But the treatment affected the fruit weight per plant and fruit length, with the best treatment 12.5 t.ha-1 yielding the best fruit weight per plant and fruit length.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategy of developing tilapia agribusiness in Babirik District, North Hulu Sungai Regency. Sampling was done by multi stage sampling and the selection of sub-district locations was carried out by purposive sampling method, namely the sub-districts which most cultivated tilapia in karamba, namely Babirik District. Fish farmers as samples were selected by stratified proportional random sampling, as many as 8 people (30% of 27 UPP group members), and 57 people (30% of 191 were not UPP group members). The number of samples is 65 people. Collector samples (collectors) were selected by snow ball sampling, which was 20 people (30% of 65 collectors). The sample of retailers was chosen by accidental sampling in the fish market in North Hulu Sungai Regency, as many as 5 people. The selection of Fisheries UPP internal factor samples was 8 people (30% of 27 people), and the sample selection of non Fisheries UPP internal factors was 20 people (30% of 191 people), while 2 external factors were selected from the relevant institutions. The results of the internal factor evaluation matrix are 3,163, while the results of the external factor evaluation matrix are 2,538. The results of the internal external matrix are in cell IV, namely in the growth and building position, and the indigo agribusiness strategy in karamba in Babirik District is a market development and production strategy.
