Abstract

One of the biggest factors causing traffic accidents is a violation committed by drivers who are less orderly in traffic. This research was conducted on Jalan Kapten A. Bakarudin Simpang Mayang, Jambi Town Square Mall (Jamtos mall). The research objective is to find out how much the traffic sign violations at the Intersection of Jamtos mall. The results show that the highest traffic sign violations occurred on Sunday, August 16, 2020, with 1996 vehicles : 1494 two-wheeled vehicles and 502 four-wheeled vehicles. Meanwhile, the vehicles that enter Jamtos mall consist of 519 two-wheeled vehicles and 237 four-wheeled vehicles with the highest violation rate of two-wheeled vehicles at 19.00-20.00 WIB totaling 145 vehicles and 52 four-wheeled vehicles at 13.00-14. 00 WIB. The largest percentage of traffic violations to the Jamtos mall destination occurred on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, amounting to 41%, hereby stating that there was a large turn-around traffic sign violation.

Abstract

This research aims to reduce waste and process it into briquettes so that it produces energy that can be utilized by many people. Bottom ash from the rest of coal burning for PLTU, used paper from offices and education activities and sawdust along the banks of the Batanghari river, especially across the city of Jambi, are waste that will be utilized. The three initial compositions are determined to obtain the calories produced from the briquettes made. From the laboratory test results, it is obtained that heating values are in the range of 2500 to 2800 kcal / kg. These results are not satisfactory and still need to change the composition between sawdust, coal ash and waste paper in order to obtain a calorific value that corresponds to the calorific value produced by LPG gas.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the vehicle speed due to side friction with the MKJI 1997 method and the analysis of the cumulative distribution of speed using statistical methods. This research was conducted on Jalan Mayor Abd. Karta Wirana Jambi City around Lippo Mall. The results show that the total side friction for events per day on Wednesday is 1175.34 with the lowest incidence of resistance on pedestrians at 48.39 and the highest incidence of friction on incoming and outgoing vehicles of 790.32. Side friction class on Jalan Mayor Abd. Karta Wirana, according to MKJI 1997, is in a high class (VH) with a frequency of weight events exceeding > 900 events per day. While the speed when disturbed is obtained an average of 11, 56 km / hour is at the lowest speed interval 10 - 11 km / hour and the highest speed is 12 - 13 km / hour. The average of undisturbed speed of 30.32 km / h at the lowest speed interval of 20-24 km / hour and the highest is 36-40 km / hour. The difference between these two speeds states that the side drag has a very large effect on speed (a very significant decrease in speed is 61.87%)

Abstract

Peat soil is a type of soil that is formed from the accumulation of plant debris which undergoes a decomposition process. This is why peat soil contains high organic matter and is acidic. Peat soils will affect the parameters of a surrounding aquatic ecosystem, such as the Rasau peat swamp ecosystem in the village of Rantau Panjang. Peat swamp water parameters are influenced by substances stored in the peat such as having a low pH, high heavy metal content, and having high TSS, TDS, BOD and COD values. The water parameter of peat swamp with mangrove vegetation is better than that of peat swamp that does not have mangrove vegetation. This can be seen if the peat swamp water parameters are laboratory tested. The physical parameters of water, namely temperature, TDS, DHL, color, and turbidity were lower in the Rasau peat swamp with mangrove vegetation compared to the non-vegetated ones. The chemical parameters of the Rasau peat swamp with high density mangrove vegetation such as higher pH, and lower BOD, COD, and iron (Fe) when compared to peat swamps without mangrove vegetation. However, the physical and chemical parameters of vegetated and non-vegetated peat swamps are still above the PPRI No. 82 of 2001.

Abstract

Arsenic is a dangerous compound that accumulates in nature as a result of anthropogenic activities, one of which is gold mining. Effluent originating from the remaining mining is simply abandoned even though it contains Arsenic which is above the threshold set by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to analyze the ability of palm shell fly ash to remove arsenic in the residual gold mining effluent. The technology applied in this study was absorption by direct mixing followed by settling and filtering. The maximum arsenic removal efficiency achieved in this study was valued at 81.98%. The longer the contact time between the palm shell fly ash and the waste sample, the less the amount of Arsenic in the waste water will be. The results of this study indicate that the method of removing arsenic from wastewater using palm shell fly ash is very effective, easy to apply and cheap in terms of the cost required.

Abstract

Occupational Health and Safety really needs to be a consideration for industry in order to avoid work accidents. Accident prevention can be done by analyzing existing risks, one of which is the HIRADC method, namely identifying hazards (Hazards Identification), assessing risks (Risk Assessment) and controlling risks (Determining Control). This study aims to conduct a risk assessment in the Zone B Phase II project of the West Sumatra Cultural Building. As a managing contractor for the project, PT. X, which is a company in West Sumatra engaged in construction, has tried to prevent work accidents from occurring. However, in the implementation of this project, 12 work accidents were recorded for each of the three types of work, namely ironwork, formwork, and scaffolding. The results of the assessment obtained in the West Sumatra Zone B Phase II Cultural Building construction project have a significant risk. Significant risks need to be considered by contractor management and take corrective action. Recommended improvements are engineering, administrative controls, and use of Personal Protective Equipment.
