Stainless steel passenger coach is the most operated passenger coach in Indonesia. Because it has better facilities, cheap, and offering more operation hour. Stainless steel passenger coach fabricated by PT.Industri Kereta Api (PT.INKA) and always improve and keep innovate from generation to generation. At this time, This passenger coach being upgraded to reach the speed more than 120 Km/h and keep the ride quality and ride comfort index and called as stainless steel new generation (SS-NG) passenger coach. To reach the target one of the method is re-design the structure of bogie. The purpose of this research is to analyzing design of the SS-NG bogie, on SS-NG passenger coach using multibody dynamic simulation to studying rolling stock dynamic and compare it with existence bogie dynamic of SS-2018 passenger coach. The result of the simulation show the SS-NG bogie design give vertical and lateral ride comfort index appropriate to Sperling comfort index on center of carbody, center of front and rear bogie while operating at 240 Km/h.

This study discusses the visual impression of the interior design of the new generation train compartment based on user preferences by using the Kansei engineering method as a form of innovation that is continuously being pursued by PT. INKA (Persero) to accommodate the high public interest in rail transportation. The purpose of this study is to determine the items and categories of interior design compartments based on user preferences. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires and then analyzed using validity and reliability tests, as well as multiple linear regression tests. The results obtained are 6 kansei words, namely comfortable, luxurious, pleasant, unique, simple, and modern. While the results of the regression test indicate the influence of the independent variable simultaneously on the dependent variable. The most popular design is the D03 design which has the visual impression of a minimalist theme, a green color palette, painting decorations, glossy, and HPL wood motif dominant finishing.

The Sembawa-Betung double rail track is one of the planned routes of the Trans Sumatra Railways project in Sumatra Island dedicated to passenger and goods transportation. This study aims to analyze the train operating systems of Sembawa - Betung double rail track, that consist of the effective length and the typical layout of rail track, train traffic management, the potential of train travel routes that can be formed, used and conflicted, and the calculation of routes loading level on the train frequency. Based on the analysis conducted using the Conflict Rate method, it can be summarized that the route utilization along with trains frequency served at Sembawa Station, Pangkalan Balai Station and Suak Tapeh Station almost reaches the maximum level of allowable conflict so it may increase the probability of train accidents if there is an additional number of trains served without the construction of additional rail track at the station. On another side, the route utilization, along with the frequency of the trains served at Betung Station, is still far below the maximum limit of allowable conflict, so that there is a possibility to increase the frequency of the trains without the need for additional rail track at the station.

Inspection lorry very important role in the maintenance of railway infrastructure. Technological modifications in the development of inspection lorry at the Madiun Indonesian Railways Polytechnic are continuing. Development of inspection lorry wheels using composite materials using nylon fiber and hemp fiber as reinforcement and epoxy resin as the matrix. This research was conducted to reduce the load of the third generation inspection lorry which initially used wheels made of nodular cast iron. In designing the wheels of inspection lorry made from composites, this must be taken into account properly so that they do not drop or skid while walking and comply with the main requirements for lorry that are easy to lift and move. The method of making inspection lorry wheels made of composites uses the hand lay-up method. The initial steps taken in this study were designing, determining materials and conducting functional tests. Testing the mechanical properties of the lorry wheel composite materials by diametral tensile strength test with ASTM D695 standard specimens. From the results of the diametral tensile strength test conducted, it was obtained that the specimen had the highest diametral tensile strength value, namely sample 1B of 76.88 MPa and the lowest strength was sample 2B with a tensile strength of 22.73 MPa. The diametral tensile strength value is influenced by the volume of reinforcing fibers, the volume of the binding matrix and the press mold load given to the molding of the composite. Function tests on straight tracks, points, level crossings and curved tracks can run smoothly without any derailments occurring. Noise test wheels made of composites have a lower noise level compared to lorry wheels using nodular cast iron

Corrosion is the process of material damage that occurs due to the surrounding environment. One way to control corrosion of metal is by coating the surface of the carriage wall consisting of anti-rust paint (epoxy), putty, and color paint. This study aims to determine the effect of coating treatment and the effect of initial treatment on the corrosion rate with the salt mist test. Coating is one method that can inhibit corrosion of metal materials. The salt mist method is used to determine the level of resistance of metal materials to corrosion under certain conditions according to the ASTM B117 standard. Weight loss is one of the methods to determine the corrosion rate by calculating the difference between the weight of the specimen before the test and the specimen after the test. From this test, information will be obtained on the effectiveness of the coating in restraining the corrosion rate. From the test results, it was found that the initial wetblasting treatment with coating and wetblasting without coating had the highest corrosion rates of 0.00054 mmpy and 0.2190 mmpy. While the results of the initial treatment of sandpaper with coating and sandpaper without coating were lower, namely 0.000274 mmpy and 0.00192 mmpy. From the calculation results, it can be concluded that the sandpaper treatment is better than the wetblasting treatment in overcoming the corrosion rate of the galvanized material.

Surabaya City as one of the metropolitan cities in Indonesia, serves as the centre of social and economic activities in East Java. The problem of housing makes these workers choose to live in satellite areas. In addition to road transport, movement from satellite areas such as Sidoarjo to Surabaya also uses rail transport. This study aims to determine the expected value and reality value of passengers on the Minimum Service Standards (MSS) of Diesel Train (KRD) Surabaya - Sidoarjo Line. As well as knowing the condition of SPM Diesel Train (KRD) Surabaya - Sidoarjo Line based on the dimensions expected by passengers. In this study using the servqual method obtained from surveys on passengers to optimise the level of public satisfaction. The result is that the measurable evidence dimension indicator has an expected value of 3.64 while the reality value is 3.32. In the reliability dimension, the expected value is 3.60 while the reality value is 3.48. The dimension of responsiveness has an expected value of 3.55 compared to the reality of 3.21. The guarantee dimension has an expected value of 3.64, for a reality value of 3.33. Finally, in the empathy dimension, the expected value is 3.45 while the reality value is 3.19. The Actual Servqual Score figure is 92%. This shows that the overall fulfilment of the Surabaya-S Sidoarjo KRD service has met 92% of passenger expectations compared to before using the train.

Occurrence of transaction that utilize online media to improve communication between buyers and sellers is one of the indicators of technological progress in business field. With the advancement of internet technology, consumers now have instant access to all their needs, making online transactions. a necessity for many people. Transportation today can be seen as effective in limiting distance and time constraints. By allowing people to travel in greater numbers and regularly or continuously and more frequently, the advancement and development of transportation in the modern era can drive an increase in human needs. Kereta api Indonesia or known as KAI (Kereta Api Indonesia) is one type of land transportation in Indonesia.This train ticket booking application known as KAI Access was developed and released by PT KAI (Kereta Api Indonesia). To accommodate the requirements of long-distance, medium-distance, and local/commuter train passengers, PT KAI launched an official application named KAI Access. The motivation behind this examination is to ascertain the impact service quality, promotion, and convenience of using the KAI Access application of customer loyalty through PT Kereta Api Indonesia's customer satisfaction. This study employs a quantitative approach. This study discovered that PT Kereta Api Indonesia's customers are significantly more loyal to the company due to the service quality, promotion, and convenience of the KAI Access application.

As a means of transportation, trains can transport large quantities of goods and are very beneficial to society, so it is very appropriate to support their development. Transportation development is reflected in passenger satisfaction with the restoration of rail transit. Therefore, this study examines railway passenger satisfaction and impact on passenger loyalty. The variables used in this study are Tangible (X1), Reliability (X2), Assurance (X3), Empathy (X4), Responsiveness (X5), Passenger Satisfaction (Y) and Passenger Loyalty (Z) . The method used in this study uses a structural equation modeling (SEM) program using the smart-PLS 3.0 tool. Structural equation modeling is a multivariate statistical technique that combine factors analysis and regression analysis (correlation analysis) to study the relationship between variables in the model. This study identifies the variables that are significant for passenger satisfaction (Y) and passenger loyalty (Z). Based on the results of this study that there are three variables that are significant for passenger satisfaction (Y) and passenger satisfaction (Y) that are significant for the loyalty of passengers (Z).

Railway track is important component in the operational of railway. Railway track structre consist of layers of ballast, sub-ballast, and subgrade. Subgrade located at the bottom of railway track structure thus make this layer hold the whole structure above. In case of damage to the subgrade, then there will be a lot of mismatches in the structure of the overlying layers and reduced stability of the railway track structure. One way to prevent damage on the subgrade is by doing maintenance berfore reaching its service life. This research aims to find out the effect of ballast thickness to subgrade service life. The Analysis was performed numerically using ANSYS 2023 software to determine vertical compressive stress used in the service life calculation. At a ballast thickness of 200 mm the subgrade service life is 43.7 years. Based on PM 60/2012, the minimum ballast thickness is 300 mm. At this thickness, the subgrade service life is 62.7 year, while at the ballast thickness of 500 mm the subgrade service life is up to 98.99 years.

Railway infrastructure assets are key components in the railway transportation system. Optimal asset management is essential to improve the efficiency and productivity of the railway system, as well as help prevent unnecessary costs in the asset life cycle. Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) and Life Cycle Cost (LCC) methods can be used in managing railway infrastructure assets. RAMS is a method used to assess the performance of high-complexity systems such as rail infrastructure systems. In contrast, LCC is used to evaluate the overall cost of a system or asset over the life cycle. Integrating RAMS and LCC concepts can help plan railways' design, operation, and maintenance. This integration is very flexible as it can be done from the life cycle's design, operation, and maintenance stages. Research shows that using the integration of RAMS and LCC can lead to better strategic decisions in the life cycle of a railway. In selecting assets to support design and maintenance, for example, there are two high-speed rail double-track alternatives of ballasted and ballastless track, with results showing that ballastless track has higher RAMS performance and lower maintenance cost but higher construction costs, so ballasted track solutions are preferred for short-term construction and the ballastless track is preferred for long-term.
