Al Mishbah Jurnal Ilmu Dakwah dan Komunikasi is an academic peer-reviewed journal that publishes the latest issues in the field of dawah and communication, including areas of dawah discourse, such as Islamic counseling and the development of Islamic societies. Since 2012, the journal has been published regularly twice in one year June and December. The primary audience of Al Mishbah Jurnal Ilmu Dakwah dan Komunikasi is academics, students, practitioners, and those who have an interest in the field of dawah and communication.

<![CDATA[There are three social levels of Islamic preacher in Palu, ulama, ustaz and guru mengaji. The emergence of 'ulama (muslim scholars) on the political stage is an epicenter of social, cultural and economic dynamics. 'Ulama felt that they must interfere to guide Muslim community in politics in order to implement Islamic shari'a according to the Quran and Hadith. Political communication of Muslim preachers in Palu includes three steps: negotiation of political opportunity, consolidation of supports for candidates, and image building of da'wah message. Muslim preachers such as ulama, ustaz and guru mengaji are always drawn into politics at the season of political glamour, because they are considered as having loyal and pious mass basis.]]>

<![CDATA[Beberapa PAUD di karisidenan Surakarta merupakan PAUD yang memposisikan diri sebagai PAUD dengan menyediakan layanan rutin konseling berbasis perilaku (behaviour) bagi Anak dan wali murid. Layanan konseling rutin ini bertujuan untuk menemukan perilaku maladaptif anak, baik disekolah maupun di rumah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas pelatihan konseling behaviourterhadap tingkat pemahaman konseling behaviour pada guru PAUD di Kecamatan Jaten, Karanganyar. Hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini adalah ada pengaruh yang signifikan pelatihan konseling behaviour terhadap tingkat pemahaman konseling behaviour pada guru PAUD di Kecamatan Jaten, Karanganyar. Metode pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan metode quasi eksperimen, dengan menggunakan desain eksperimen berbentuk one group pre test-post test design, yang dikenal juga dengan eksperimen semu. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan konseling behaviour secara langsungkepada guru PAUD di Kecamatan Jaten, Karanganyar. Berdasarkan hasil analisis paired sample t-test, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan hasil yang signifikan antara pretest dan posttest (65.44<86.56, sig. 0.000<0.005). Hasil tersebut membuktikan bahwa pelatihan konseling behavior yang dilakukan efektif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konseling behavior guru-guru PAUD di Kecamatan Jaten.]]>

<![CDATA[Prophets and messengers have the same role, that is, to bring the teachings of monotheism. However, their exposure of tawhid varies, adjusted to the level of thinking maturity of their people. Hud is a prophet and messenger sent to the people of ‘Ad. They lived in Al-Ahqaf (the Sandy Plains) and built countless buildings that had never been before. They had superior civilization and skills in such fields as agriculture, livestock breeding, and architecture. The arrival of Hud was not appreciated, but insulted and mocked. They are repeatedly reminded to return the Oneness of Allah and to abandon idolatry, but only a few of those who accept it. Finally, they were persecuted, and their civilization was destroyed. An archeologist did the research in 1990 and found the ruins believed to be the pillars of building that was formerly owned by the people of Aad 'and Iran. This story has been told in the Quran in several Surah, its substance and value are permanently maintained. However, its impression and lessons are different.]]>

<![CDATA[This paper argued that da’wah activities in social counseling foster adaptability of students in school as mad’u (object of da'wah). This is conducted by the teacher as a da’i or preacher (the subject of da’wah, social communicator and guide). Social counseling is a field of social life service for students, which helps students assess and build an effective and healthy social relationship with their peers or with the wider social environment. Social counseling is a field service required to help students adjust themselves in school, in this case the students’ relationships with students and teachers in school. Da’wah communication is used to deliver the kind of service appropriate to the student’s social counseling; such as the introduction of the school environment, curriculum, teacher characteristics, so that students do not have difficulties in adapting to the social environment in school.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to find out the strategy of Nahdlatul Ulama da’wah to religious tolerance in Jepara. In this study, the strategy used by Nahdlatul Ulama is based on the theory of change, which means striving for a space for strengthening and accepting local religious and belief groups that receive discrimination, and intolerance through early conflict warning and response systems, strengthening mediation capacity and fulfilling efforts economic empowerment. The form of activities in campaigning for religious tolerance carried out by Nahdlatul Ulama is to use participatory strategies through educational, cultural, mediation, policy advocacy and mentoring approaches to the Women’s Light Mandiri Group. In the program method, Nahdlatul Ulama prioritizes discussion, and collaboration between wisdom and kind preaching (mawi§ah ¥asanah), meaning that it adapts to the conditions of the times and is packed with motivating efforts, aiming to achieve common goals with the methods and approaches used.]]>

<![CDATA[The development of science and technology supports human beings in meeting their needs, and solving the problems they encountered in their daily life. However, on the other hand, people have to be aware of various possible threats that result from this. Participatory approach requires the targets of Islamic preaching involved in the planning of Islamic preaching, even in searching problems and needs. The achieve da'wah success, the effectiveness and efficiency in carrying out Islamic Islamic da'wah should be paid attention and processe through an established da'wah strategy. Development of Islamic da;wah is the intercation of a series religiousity. The equality includes the understanding of Islam completely, religious insight, appreciation and experience. As a process, the basic claim is a change in attitude and behaviour to be oriented towards the source of Islamic values.]]>

<![CDATA[This paper deals with the use of music as media of preaching in empowering the students of Tuna Grahita Nipotowe Palu. The questions are what kind of music is it? How to use music as media of preaching? The result showed that music as media of preaching has great benefits for the students. The benefits include making them comfortable, motivated, cheerful, and happy. Music makes them active in every activities given by the instructor. Music also improves their memories and influences their psychology. Furthermore, music helps to empower the students, makes them have effective communication, and can be made as therapy for the students.]]>

<![CDATA[This paper examines the pattern of Muhammadiyah’s preaching in Banjarmasin. Of Islamic organizations in this city, Muhammadiyah has a large base of masses since dakwah has been carried out consistently and continuously. Muhammadiyah of Banjarmasin has two models in doing da’wah activities. First, internal da’wah model, which is done in a various ways such as verbal (bil lisan), writing (bil kitabah) or behaviour (bil hal), directed to a group of people belong to Muhammadiyah. <![CDATA[LDK Jundullah is organization of da’wah (Islamic preaching) in IAIN Palu that has concerned with Islamic studies. Therefore, students and also community can understand Islam as a religion that is able to form a good character. In addition, Islamic studies can be alternative to relieve a boredom for society due to the emergence of new schools in Islam that are in contradicton with the Quran and Sunnah. This organization carry out activities such as organizing seminars, training of preacher, weekly meeting (liqo), two-level training (daurah) for new comers, female Muslim activities, and economic empowerment. The activities done by the activists of LDK Jundullah are focused on good character and exemplary in campus and society.]]>

<![CDATA[The paper deals with the question of how the Islamic world fcaes the issue of global communication affecting the develpment of religions in the world, especially Islamic tradition in the third countries. The target is the theories of the functions of communication that occur situationally, including those contained in the Quran and the Hadith which give an idea of the values and traditions of communcation in Islam. Ibn Khaldun said that Islam has the concept of tabligh as theory of communication and ethics, since in this concept there are some principles such asonotheism, enjining good and prohibiting evil, Islamic community and piety, while the word (qawl) and writing (qalam) is a timeless tradition in Islamic communication. It is these principles and values that become the basis for Muslim community to determine their position and steps in global community to determine their position and steps in global communitications arena to socialize, mantain and enhance the role of religion (Islam) in the life of mankind.]]>
