Abstract

This study aims to determine the chemical quality (water content, protein content and fat content) of South Kalimantan swamp buffalo meat in different ecosystems. The research was conducted using survey and laboratory methods. Meat samples were taken from three Slaughterhouses (RPH), RPH Basirih, RPH Martapura and RPH Pelaihari. The samples were then taken to the laboratory to test the chemical quality of buffalo meat. The sample of swamp buffalo meat used was the Longissimus dorsi muscle. The resulting data were analyzed and tabulated based on the maintenance ecosystem, namely the swamp buffalo kept in the swamp ecosystem and the swamp buffalo kept in the terrestrial ecosystem. The data obtained were then grouped and tested using the Independent Samples Test. The results showed that the difference in the buffalo rearing ecosystem did not affect the protein and fat content but had a very significant effect on the water content of the buffalo meat produced (P<0.01).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the dose of corncob compost on the growth and production of shallots. The research was conducted in Pateguhan Village, Pasuruan Regency from January to April 2021. The soil used had a pH of 5.8 with a c-organic content of 2.41%, N-total 0.17%, P2O5 38.46 ppm, and K2O 0.80 ppm. This study was arranged in a one-factor randomized block design (RBD) with six replicates with the following treatment with doses of corncob compost: P0 = control, without corncob composting P1 = treatment with compost at a dose of 10 tons.ha-1 P2 = treatment giving compost at a dose of 15 tons.ha-1 P3 = treatment with compost at a dose of 20 tons.ha-1. The data obtained from the study were analyzed using analysis of variance (F test), if there was a significant effect, then continued with the 5% level BNT test. The results showed that the dose of corncob compost treatment had an effect on the growth and yield of shallots. Treatment of corn cobs compost at a dose of 20 tons.ha-1 gave the highest yield on the observation of growth components, growth analysis and yield components. Treatment of corncob compost at a dose of 20 tons.ha-1 produced a tuber weight of 8.74 tons.ha-1, at a dose of 15 tons.ha-1 corn cobs compost treatment produced a tuber weight of 6.49 tons.ha-1, at a dose of 10 ton.ha-1 corn cobs compost treatment yielded tuber weight of 5.26 ton.ha-1 and the lowest yield was found in the control treatment with yield of 4.17 ton.ha-1.

Abstract

Banjar Regency in South Kalimantan is the center of jasmine production. The productivity level of the province of South Kalimantan cannot make a large contribution to national jasmine production because the harvested area of South Kalimantan is less competitive than Central Java, this is unforgettable because there are differences in agronomic actions and soil chemical properties. This study analyzed the relationship of agronomic actions and soil chemical properties and the dominant traits affecting the productivity of jasmine in the Banjar Regency. This study adopted survey methods and field observations. The survey method included determining the sampling locations and interviews with jasmine farmers. The selected villages were determined by purposive sampling method by deliberately choosing villages that were dominant in cultivating jasmine plants, namely Labuan Tabu village, Jingah Habang Ilir village, and Pandak Daun village. The results revealed that the agronomy action and soil chemical properties simultaneously had A significant effect on the yield of jasmine. Each of the treatments of nitrogen application, potassium application, and pruning frequency significantly affected the yield of jasmine. The dominant agronomic actions on the yield of jasmine were nitrogen application, pruning frequency, and potassium application, with the contribution of 46.51%, 17.72%, and 17.14%, respectively. The indirect effect of nitrogen fertilizer application channeled through the pruning frequency contributed 18.19% higher than the direct effect of the pruning frequency alone. The indirect effect of potassium fertilizer application through the pruning frequency contributed 16.33% to the jasmine productivity. The application of N fertilizer and the pruning frequency showed a very significant and positive linear relationship to productivity with regression equations of 5.173+0.01526 N and –0.194+3.587 Fpks, respectively.

Abstract

The development of the Agroindustrial Area is directed to Dua Koto District, Pasaman Regency. Dua Koto Subdistrict has superior commodities to be developed for food crops, horticulture, plantations, and industrial plants. Potato plants are horticultural crops and are able to live well in highland locations (>800 m asl), as well as coffee plantations, areca nut, and citronella can grow well from the middle to the highlands. Oil palm and rubber plantations turned out to be unprofitable. The purpose of the activity was to analyze soil and environmental conditions on the potential for the development of biodiversity for several superior products to reach the agro-industrial area. This research activity was carried out using survey methods and interviews with the community and village officials. From the results of the discussion, it was concluded that Oxisol and Ultisol soil types in the Cubadak village, Dua Koto sub-district, which are in the highlands (> 800 m asl) is suitable for potato development with the addition of sufficient organic matter and artificial fertilizers. Oil palm and rubber plants will be not recommended to be planted or included in the agroforestry pattern in the highlands, because they are not suitable for agro-climatic conditions. It is necessary to develop coffee plants in an agroforestry pattern as well as intercropping with potato plants. Planting distance of 50 x 50 cm citronella plants, with a selling price of Rp. 165,000/kg of fresh material, Feasibility reaches 18.68, with an average profit of Rp. 7,808,333,-/month/ha. There needs to be an efficient spacing of citronella plants with cutting slope planting techniques, so that the production per hectare can exceed the average product in Indonesia, to reach an agro-industrial area.
