Abstract

Research has been carried out on the effect of adding CaCO3 as a filler in OPC cement (Ordinary Portland Cement) on setting time performance and compressive strength. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding CaCO3 as a filler on the compressive strength and setting time of OPC cement. The principle of this experiment is the addition of CaCO3 to each of the OPC cement samples, after which the paste is tested for setting time with the Vicat tool. Mortar samples were made to be tested for compressive strength using a compressive strength test equipment. The results of the addition of CaCO3 as a filler in OPC cement include, the optimum value was obtained when the addition of CaCO3 was 5.5% based on the results of linear interpolation with a blank ratio. However, it is safer if the optimum value used as a reference for PT Semen Indonesia (Persero)Tbk is 5.4%. The addition of CaCO3 to OPC cement can save production costs in making OPC cement. The value of setting time and compressive strength obtained still meet the standards set by PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of thickness variations on the sound absorption coefficient of acoustic material from corn stalks. The study was conducted by making acoustic board samples from corn stems with Polyester Resin adhesive. In this study the thickness of the acoustic boards used were 0.7 cm, 1 cm, and 1.5 cm. The amount of frequency used is 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, 2000 Hz. Based on the results of the research, the absorption coefficient value is proportional to the thickness, where the greater the thickness of a material, the lower the coefficient value produced. In the thickest sample with a thickness of 1.5 cm for a frequency of 250 Hz, the absorption coefficient value is 0.177, while at the frequency of 2000 Hz the absorption coefficient value is 0.084.

Abstract

Biodegradable plastics are plastics that will decompose  in nature with the help of microorganisms. The use various of starch as the main material of plastic manufacturing has great potential because in Indonesia there are different starch crops. To obtain bioplastics, starch is added to the plasticizer glycerol, in order to obtain a more flexible plastic and elastic. This study reviews  the  use  of starch to obtain good mechanical properties of biodegradable plastics. Addition various of starch affecting the mechanical properties of biodegradable plastics. But, addition of plasticizer  glycerol on many kinds of starch lower the value of tensile strength and raising the value of elongation. But, when added chitosan and glycerol, increasing the value of tensile strength and lower the value of elongation.

Abstract

Solar still design and construction have been carried out with two models, namely the pyramid model and the prism model. The prism model is proposed as a new model that is easier and cheaper in the construction process as a potential replacement for the previous model that is more complicated. While the pyramid model is a control model. The size of the container or raw water bath used is 75 cm x 75 cm x 10 cm. the results showed that the volume of water evaporated pyramid model more than the control model, efficiency also gave a better value of 27.55% compared to 24.10% for the control model.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of fiber size of the sound absorption coefficient of acoustic material of banana. In this study, the size of the fiber used is 10 mesh, 20 mesh, and 40 mesh wi th a board thickness of 1cm. The value of the frequency used is 125 Hz, 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz. The result showed that the smaller the size of the fiber, the more high sound absorption coefficient is generated. Good sound absorption coefficient is the mesh size of 40 with a frequency of 125 Hz at a thickness of 1 cm is equal to 0.255. This suggests that the acoustic boards made of banana can be used as a silencer because it meets the ISO 11654 standard.

Abstract

This research was conducted Alla district, Enrekang regency. This study aims to isolate or zoning areas prone to landslides using GIS software and identify the causes of landsileds using the wenner-schlumberger configuration geoelectric method in Alla District, Enrekang Regency. Data processing method used is res2dinv software for geoelectric data and arcgis software for mapping and required parameters such as rainfall, slope, geomorphology, soil type and geology. Based on the results obtained by using GIS application by overlapping land type map, geology, slope slope, geomorphology and rainfall, then obtained landslide inecology rate in the research area namely for low inecology rate with an area of 12% spread percentage, for moderate inewanity rate with an area of 57% dispersal percentage and for high inwant rate with an area of 30% spread percentage. Results obtained using geoelectric methods found the discovery of a potential landslide slip field. This guessing is due to the three layers in the research area there is a slip field with a resistivity value of 29.7 Ωm – 37.9 Ωm. The data of the research results using GIS application is reinforced by the data of previous research by using geoelectric methods in Pana village of Alla District Enrekang Regency Keywords: SIG, Landslide, Geoelectric, Software Arcgis.

Abstract

Fever was a condition where the body temperature was above 37,5oC. Fever was also part of the immune process that was fighting infections due to viruses, bacteria and parasites. Fever was considered very high and potentially dangerous if the temperature reaches 39oC. This research used experimental of temperature Cobra3 method. The research showed  thermophysical values of kapok leaves, red betel leaves and hibiscus flower leaves as ingredients for fever compresses. The results of kapok leaves were the average specific heat value of 45.07 (J/groC), and heat capacity value of 901.30 (J/oC). For the sample of red betel leaves, the average specific heat value were 72.50 (J/groC) and heat capacity value 1,540 (J/oC). Sample of hibiscus flower leaves were the average specific heat value 96.30 (J/groC) and the heat capacity value 1,925.3 (J/oC).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of high voltage usage and standards on the quality of radiographic imagery produced on X-ray aircraft. Data retrieval was obtained by conducting testing in the Radiology Installation room of the Makassar Public Lung Health Center by using an X-ray aircraft of thosiba brand type with drx-1824B model unit. The result obtained is the voltage of the tube gives an influence on the quality of radiography imagery where for the use of standard tube voltage provides good radiographic imagery quality results with a graph reading histogram voltage of 50 kV with a distance of 100 cm and a time of 10 mAs with a black background image starting at the position of 16 to 36 and the position of the object is 37 to 79 which is then able to provide information because the edges of the object and background can still be distinguished clearly and for the high voltage used the result is less tub because it can reduce the contrast value of objects and background is indistinguishable, this is seen in the histogram readings voltage of 90 kV and distance of 100 cm and the time of 10 mAs has a gradation of gray color that dominates compared to the black background whose position starts from 10 to 132 which can not provide information on the edge value between the background and the object phantom water because both seem to be fused so that it is indistinguishable and causes an inadequate image contrast Not good enough.

Abstract

Port construction at Pantoloan has influenced the condition of port and its environment. The hidro-oceanography process has influenced the condition of water, especialy to the wind and wave condition. This research was aimed to know wind condition and wave characteristic at Pantoloan, Palu, Central Sulawesi. The method used in this research was the measurement of wave current using quantitative data processing from the ECMWF (European Center For Medium-Range Weather Forecasts) website for 10 years. The study results showed that the highest wind speed is the wind blowing from the northwest at 1.34 m/s. Wind directions that have potential to generate waves are wind from the north, northwest, west and southwest. Meanwhile, deep sea waves that occurred most frequent on study location were waves from the north (23.92%), followed by the Southwest (35.70%), the Northwest (3.70%) from the West (4.65%), and the Northeast (18.83%), the South direction is (8.08%), the Southeast direction is (2.61%), and the East direction is (2.50%) with a wave  length interval of 0-0.3 m and a period of 5 - 7.5 seconds.

Abstract

The use of quadrotors in various applications has made development and research in the field of drones grow rapidly. In the research and development process, a testing phase is needed to determine the flying attitude of the quadrotor. Live testing can be risky if something goes wrong. With Hardware in The Loop Simulation, it can be used as a way to minimize the occurrence of these errors. Hardware in The Loop Simulation is a combination of software and hardware simulation. The jMAVSim simulation software is connected to the Pixhawk autopilot and ground control station. The simulation results that have been obtained make it possible to carry out direct testing on the Pixhawk autopilot. From this study, the results of the quadrotor flying attitude during take-off and landing simulations show that the quadrotor is still in a stable condition with changes in pitch and roll angles of less than 1 degree.
