Abstract

Port construction at Pantoloan has influenced the condition of port and its environment. The hidro-oceanography process has influenced the condition of water, especialy to the wind and wave condition. This research was aimed to know wind condition and wave characteristic at Pantoloan, Palu, Central Sulawesi. The method used in this research was the measurement of wave current using quantitative data processing from the ECMWF (European Center For Medium-Range Weather Forecasts) website for 10 years. The study results showed that the highest wind speed is the wind blowing from the northwest at 1.34 m/s. Wind directions that have potential to generate waves are wind from the north, northwest, west and southwest. Meanwhile, deep sea waves that occurred most frequent on study location were waves from the north (23.92%), followed by the Southwest (35.70%), the Northwest (3.70%) from the West (4.65%), and the Northeast (18.83%), the South direction is (8.08%), the Southeast direction is (2.61%), and the East direction is (2.50%) with a wave  length interval of 0-0.3 m and a period of 5 - 7.5 seconds.

Abstract

The research of the Saddang fault pattern based on the level of seismicity and focal mechanism (a case study in January 2010- July 2020) aims to determine the level of seismicity in the Saddang fault area and the Saddang fault focal mechanism in the 2010-2020 earthquake. The data which were used were secondary data from the BMKG catalog from January 2010 - July 2020. The coordinating limit is 118.50 ° East Longitude 120.60 ° East Longitude and (-2.60 ° South Latitude) - (-5.70 ° South Latitude) there were 1425 earthquakes. This research used ArcGis application to measure seismicity distribution map and seiscomp3 to measure focal mechanism. Furthermore, the focal mechanism divides the region into three regions. The results which obtained from the seismicity map obtained a high level of seismicity with a shallow depth. Which was caused by the lack of factors from the active Saddang fault and Sulawesi who had four plate junctions. The results of the focal mechanism in each region had the whole type of shear fault or horizontal. Keywords: Earthquake, geology software ArcGis, software seisco

Abstract

This study aims to determine the physical quality of food containers made of dried banana leaves, teak leaves, and corn husks. The process of making a food container is carried out using a stainless steel mold which is then heated using a cooking thermometer to reach a temperature of 1000C and using a 10 kg load as a pressure, then printed for 5 minutes which is done 4 times printing for each food container. There are two tests for food containers, namely, the water absorption test, the average value of water absorption for food containers for dried banana leaves is 0.00%, 99,97% teak leaves, and 49.96% corn husks. The second test is test the resistance of the container based on temperature parameters. The temperatures used are 400C, 600C, and 800C, the three containers have different results, the dried banana leaf container can be used for hot food because it doesn't change after testing, while the food container made of leaves Teak and corn husk underwent changes during testing. Where teak leaves cannot be used for food with soup and corn husks cannot be used as food containers with food temperatures above 600 C.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the results of testing on particle board made from coconut fiber and palm fronds; determine the effect of variations in the composition of the material on the quality of the physical properties of the material and determine whether the particleboard made has complied with the Indonesian National Standard SNI 03-2105 2006. The research method was carried out by laboratory testing consisting of three stages. Phase I: Preparation of materials and determination of mass and composition variations, Phase II: Process of making samples (finely chopped grinding phase, sifting 18 mesh, weighing according to composition variations, mixing, molding size (25×25×1) 3 cm, pressing at 185 °C for 15 minutes at a pressure of 25 kg/cm3 and standing 2 × 24 hours), and stage III: The process of testing physical properties includes moisture content, density, and thickness expansion. The results showed that the laboratory tests of physical properties: moisture content (2.01- 3.88)%, density (0.713-0.891) gr/cm3, and thickness expansion ranged from (0.75-11.61)%. Particleboard made based on its physical properties has complied with SNI 03-2105-2006.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of smartphones as measurement tools in physics laboratories, focusing on the science process skills of Class XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Wajo. Employing a Pre-Experimental One-Shot Case Study design, we integrated the Phyphox application into the curriculum and analyzed its impact on students' scientific understanding. Our methodology included purposive sampling of 24 students and data collection via science process skill tests, lesson plans, and student worksheets. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses revealed a significant improvement in students' science process skills, with an average score of 72.08. The one-sample t-test showed an essential value of 0.000, indicating a positive effect of the Phyphox application. These findings suggest a potential shift towards technologically integrated learning environments in physics education, enhancing student engagement and comprehension. While promising, the study acknowledges its sample size and context limitations, highlighting the need for further research in diverse educational settings. This study contributes to the growing body of research advocating digital tools in education, aiming to prepare students for a technologically advanced world.

Abstract

Research has been carried out which aims to model the structure of the subsurface layers in Rombo Hamlet, Saukang Village, East Sinjai District, in Sinjai Regency. This research uses the resistivity geoelectric method of the Wenner-Schlumberger configuration. The number of measurement paths consists of five tracks, each 150 m. The geology of the research location includes the Walanae Formation, which consists of sandstones, conglomerates, tuffs, siltstones, claystones, limestones, and marls. The results of the study allegedly show that the subsurface structure consists of several layers with interpretations in the form of groundwater aquifers, sandstones, and claystones. The first track shows a resistivity value of 0.753 Ωm to 3.22 Ωm where there are free aquifers at a depth of 1.25 meters to 24.0 meters, the second track has free aquifers and confined aquifers with resistivity values of 0.976 Ωm to 3.75 Ωm which are at a depth of 1.25 meters to 28.7 meters, the third track shows a resistivity value of 0.643 Ω to 2.46 Ωm there are free and confined aquifers that spread at depths of 15.9 meters to 28.7 meters, the fourth line has free aquifers and aquifers The depressed aquifer which has a resistivity value of 1.83 Ωm to 6.27 Ωm is at a depth of 5.19 meters to 28.7 meters, while on the fifth line at a depth of 1.25 meters to 28.7 meters there are free aquifers and confined aquifers which have resistivity value of 0.801 Ωm to 4.10 Ωm.

Abstract

Akuifer merupakan lapisan yang dapat menyimpan dan mengalirkan air. Jumlah ketersediaan air tanah dipengaruhi oleh jenis akuifer yang ada di bawah permukaannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keberadaan lapisan air tanah (akuifer) bawah permukaan di Desa Lembangloe Kecamatan Biring Bulu Kabupaten Gowa. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode survei dan pengukuran geolistrik konfigurasi Wenner-Schlumberger. Jumlah lintasan digunakan sebanyak tiga lintasan dengan ukuran masing-masing 210 meter. Penentuan titik koordinatnya menggunakan GPS yaitu lintasan satu pada titik 05˚32’30.5”S 119˚44’16.4”E, lintasan kedua 0532’38.8”S 119˚44’17.7”E, dan lintasan ketiga 05˚32’25.4”S 119˚44’10.7”E. Hasil penelitian diinterpretasikan bahwa pada lintasan pertama terdapat akuifer dangkal dan akuifer tertekan pada kedalaman 11,8-31,9 meter dengan rentang nilai resistivitasnya 0,449–0,08 Ωm, pada lintasan kedua terdapar akuifer dangkal dan akuifer tertekan pada kedalaman 2,50-39,6 meter dengan rentang nilai resistivitas 0,0622-3,39 Ωm, sedangkan pada lintasan ketiga didapatkan akuifer tertekan pada kedalaman 2,50-39,6 meter dengan rentang nilai resistivitas 0,187-4,15 Ωm. Jenis litologi batuan sedimen pada daerah tersebut diduga berupa batu lempung dan batuan beku berupa batu andesit dan tufa.
