Wavelet transform is an essential method for preprocessing and analyzing non-stationary signal of power quality disturbances. Recently, power quality disturbances cause various effect which reduce the accuracy of the signal such as border distortion. This paper is presenting the comparative study on extension mode scheme to reduce border distortion effect in Discrete Wavelet Transform. The three different method namely zero padding, smooth padding of order 1 and symmetrization mode have been carried to observe their capability on reducing border distortion effectively. The implementation of these modes has been carried out in Matlab Software version R2014a. The analysis is considering the decomposition coefficient at level 4 with mother wavelet type Daubechies. With the aid of soft- threshold function, the noise and unwanted signal is effectively removed to recover the original signal. The comparative study provides the best mode to reduce border distortion effect with the presence of transient voltage is smooth padding of order 1.

The data has structured is determined using the standard is known as XML whereaslarge amount of data has consumed through internet consist of the both structural data format as well as semi structural data format which gets stored and processed whereas XML allow the data of semi-structured and hierarchical data representation not only consist of concept with individual items from various kind of database but also have relationship among data items. The utilized knowledge bed is provided with concise ideas for both structured and semi structured data files, XML document contents and rapid with exact solutions for the queries required at any time. The user can search their resources with the help of queries. Searching the resources with the help of queries is not a simple task, where inaccurate result and complexity would occur. Hence it is not a better way for searching the resources. This paper proposes the query answering system of Linear search usingwild card searchfor extracting the frequent pattern to maximize your search results in library database on XML document to extract the most relevant feeds from the large file directly. It will help the user to find his resources completely.

In the operation process, the Wire Electrical Discharge Machine(WEDM) has certain imperfections such as vibration and the descent of machine precision which vibration produces. This paper studies the dynamic parameter of the machine tool and optimizes the natural frequency and vibration.Taking the DK7725 taper machine tool as an example, the paper establishes a 3Dmodel with ProEngineer 5.0.According to the Masataks Yoshimura method, the authors could ascertain the stiffness and damping of joint surfaces among machine main parts and ascertain the equivalent dynamic model. In order to have a modal analysis about the machine tool structure, the virtual dynamic analysis module of ANSYS Workbench Environment(AWE) is used.Through the study of dynamic parameter, the authors optimize and improve the natural frequency and vibration of machine tools, compared with the finite element analysis results and the no-optimization data. And the final results show that the change rates of each order natural frequencies optimized ranges from 0%to18.9%,and the whole mechine’s optimization achieves satisfied effect.

All-optical wavelength division multiplexing networks are the most promising candidate for the next generation wideband backbone networks. To improve the utilization of wavelength, time division multiplexing technology is introduced. The routing, wavelength and time-slots assignment problem was studied in such time-space switched networks. Two new dynamic algorithms were proposed which distribute slots of the session request on multiple different wavelengths of single fiber separately based on fixed alternate routing and adaptive routing policy. Especially in LLR-MWLB algorithm, network link weights adjust adaptively with the available time slots of each link and load balancing strategy is adopted. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithms is demonstrated by simulations and results show the better performance. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i4.2336

The determination of power and voltage in the power load flow for the purpose of design and operation of the power system is very crucial in the assessment of actual or predicted generation and load conditions. The load flow studies are of the utmost importance and the analysis has been carried out by computer programming to obtain accurate results within a very short period through a simple and convenient way. In this paper, Newton-Raphson method which is the most common, widely-used and reliable algorithm of load flow analysis is further revised and modified to improve the speed and the simplicity of the algorithm. There are 4 Newton-Raphson algorithms carried out, namely Newton-Raphson, Newton-Raphson constant Jacobian, Newton-Raphson Schur Complement and Newton-Raphson Schur Complement constant Jacobian. All the methods are implemented on IEEE 14-, 30-, 57- and 118-bus system for comparative analysis using MATLAB programming. The simulation results are then compared for assessment using measurement parameter of computation time and convergence rate. Newton-Raphson Schur Complement constant Jacobian requires the shortest computational time.

In recent years to meet the energy consumption demand of the world, all are working on renewable distributed generation (RDG) due to shortage of fossil fuels. The RDG systems after integrating with grid, has a disadvantage of islanding in the power system. Islanding is caused, if the RDG is supplying power to load connected due to failures in the grid. As per IEEE 1547 distributed generation (DG) interconnection standards, the islanding should be detected within 2 seconds after islanding. In this paper a hybrid islanding detection scheme is presented with rate of change of frequency (ROCOF) and reactive power injection with positive feedback. It will reduce the non detection zone (NDZ) of passive ROCOF relay to zero and can detect balanced islanding. The computer simulations are performed on MATLAB-2016. The simulations results show the effective performance of the proposed method.

Planar array antenna is seen as one of the innovative solutions of massive MIMO and 5G networks since they provide directive beams. In this paper, planar array antenna with square and rectangular arrangements based on 2 x 2 antenna elements as one subarray was proposed. Then, array factor for the the planar array antenna with up to 64 antenna elements was calculated to analyze the effects of inter-element spacing and number of elements on the antenna characteristics. Higher values of inter-element spacing contributed to higher number of side lobes, narrower main lobe, higher directivity and lower half power beamwidth (HPBW). Inter-element spacing equals to 0.5λ was found to be the most suitable value for planar array antenna design based on the analysis. Meanwhile, higher number of antenna elements increased the value of directivity of the planar array with narrower HPBW. Therefore, there is a tradeoff between directivity and HPBW in designing planar array antenna for massive MIMO application.

The brushless DC (BLDC) motor is a multi-variable and non-linear system so that it's required more advanced explaining and controlling set. In this work, an algorithm is proposed based on the harmony search algorithm (HAS) method. HSA mimics music improvisation process to find the optimal solution. In BLDC motor, many constraints are required; speed performance and current limiting control are dominated. HAS is proposed to find the optimal PID parameters for the two speed and current-limiting controllers that are proposed in the drive. By Matlab/Simulink results, a good performance is shown compared with the classical method that absence current-limiting controller.

The aim of this paper is to present new wasserstein metric based adaptive fuzzy clustering methods for partitioning symbolic interval data. In two methods, fuzzy partitions and prototypes for clusters are determined by optimizing adequacy criteria based on wasserstein distances between vectors of intervals. The applicability and effectiveness of the proposed methods are validated through experiments with synthetic data sets. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i2.3630

This study presents the weights of various indicators in the integrated conservation of our modern architectural heritage. In the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), the Delphi method and Entropy method are integrally adopted to set up the evaluation indicator system of the conservation efforts, and the weight coefficient of evaluation indicators. Through the analysis, we can find that modern architectural heritages not only have the three basic values historical, artistic and scientific values, but also have significant environmental, cultural emotional and real estate values. In the assessment system, artistic and historical values are the priorities among those first-level indicators, and the real estate value is the last one. Among the second-level indicators, representative architectural art is the most important factor. Consequently, the emphases should be placed on the artistic and historical values of modern architectural heritages.
