The large and wide range of information has become a tough time for crawlers and search engines to extract related information. This paper discusses about focused crawlers also called as topic specific crawler and variations of focused crawlers leading to distributed architecture, i.e., context aware notification architecture. To get the relevant pages from a huge amount of information available in the internet we use the focused crawler. This can bring out the relevant pages for the given topic with less number of searches in a short time. Here the input to the focused crawler is a topic specified using exemplary documents, but not using the keywords. Focused crawlers avoid the searching of all the web documents instead it searches over the links that are relevant to the crawler boundary. The Focused crawling mechanism helps us to save CPU time to large extent to keep the crawl up-to-date.

This research was about the application of decision support system in agriculture. The subject of study was the corn cultivated in Jilin province, northeast of China. The research synthesized expertise and experience on corn cultivation, plant protection, soil and fertilizer, and synthesized agriculture ecology from experts, integrating computer technology, principle of decision support system with corn production knowledge. The research also concerned decision support system for corn fertilization and diagnosis of insect disease and weed harming, which included system concept design, database design, knowledge base design , model base design and preliminary inference engine design according to the characteristics of corn diseases and pests of weeds. Telco operators need to tailor their networks to be agile, efficient and able manage the operational cost at moderate level. Furthermore, the norm of network volatility practiced by many enterprises open to a new challenge in managing an increasing traffic over the same WAN. For an enterprise, turning toward Bandwidth-on-Demand (BoD) approach promises to deliver extra network capacity when in demand without the complexity of running separate network. However, they need to manually transform these high-level policies into low-level configuration command and thus error-prone. This study was to address the effects of SDN (software-defined network) on the BoD performance towards the differences between the reactive and intent forwarding based on the assessment matrix. The testbed was performed under Mininet simulator which interacted with ONOS (Open Network Operating System). Mesh type topology with a predetermine parameter matrix was used using random topology generator. The expected outcome from this research was to show the effect on the BoD performance under two type of forwarding; reactive and intent based on the assessment matrix. This report contributed towards determining the effectiveness of SDN architecture on BoD performance and to improve future benchmarking on SDN-BoD testbed.

With the development of image processing technology and popularization of computer technology, intelligent machine vision technology has a wide range of application in the medical, military, industrial and other fields. Target tracking feature selection algorithm is one of research focuses in the machine intelligent vision technology. Therefore, to design the target tracking feature selection algorithm with high accuracy and good stability is extremely necessary. This paper presents a target tracking feature selection algorithm based on Adaboost. It includes Adaboost algorithm’s principle and Adaboost algorithm's application in video object tracking. A measuring instrument plays important role in the biomedical measurement since the biological process in living organism generates very weak signal. Therefore, a reliable and sensitive measuring instrument is needed. In this study, a lock-in amplifier was analysed and tested. This paper presents an experiment to investigate the lock-in amplifier for biomedical measurement. An experiment using RC (resistor capacitor) tissue model to measure the voltage change related to impedance change was performed using a lock-in amplifier to evaluate the accuracy of the lock-in amplifier. Three different values of the capacitor in the RC tissue model were applied regarding to simulate small impedance changes. The measurement results were compared with the theoretical calculation and an impedance measurement system. An error analysis was conducted to investigate the accuracy of the measurement. The comparison result showed that impedance measurement using lock-in amplifier is an effective technique, which could able to measure very small voltage regarding impedance change in the RC tissue model.

Dissolved gas-in-oil analysis (DGA) is one of the most powerfull techniques for the detection of incipient fault condition within oil-immersed transformers. The transformer data has been analyzed using key gases, Doernenburg, Roger, IEC and Duval triangle techniques. This paper introduce a MATLAB program to help in unification DGA interpretation techniques to investigate the accuracy of these techniques in interpreting the transformer condition and to provide the best suggestion for the type of the fault within the transformer based on fault percentage. It proposes a proper maintenance action based on DGA results which is useful for planning an appropriate maintenance strategy to keep the power transformer in acceptable condition. The evaluation is carried out on DGA data obtained from 352 oil samples has been summarized into 46 samples that have been collected from a 38 different transformers of different rating and different life span.

In the CRN (cognitive Radio Networks) the main issues to be addressed are spectrum scarcity and inadequate usage of spectrum. The CRN can analyse the unused spectrum, so that CRN users can easily occupy the unused spectrum without blocking the existing Primary Users. In a CRN, routing is a complex issue because of channel diversity. The existing system mainly focuses on the performance analysis of Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) and the Weight Cumulative Expected transmission time (WCETT). The performance of these protocols are measured and compared in various ways such as the throughput of single radio station multi-channels, equal number of radio stations and channels, multi-radio stations multi-channels. The limitation with these protocols is, whenever a route fails, there is issue to get connected with the other nodes, the other being data integrity, which maintains the no loss of data [LOD]. In our proposed DIS – CRAHN system we overcome these limitations by adding data security and integrity. Security is provided using the RSA algorithm while Integrity is ensured using the SHA algorithm. With the data security we can maintain the shortest path from source to destination and if any route failure occurs then immediate route establishment can be done and data encryption and decryption also be implemented using the random key generation. Results show an improved performance in delay with reasonable throughput, making the protocol an ideal choice for CRNs.

Software Product Line (SPL) describes procedures, techniques, and tools in software engineering by using a common method of production for producing a group of software systems that identical from a shared set of software assets. In SPL, the similarity-based prioritization can resemble combinatorial interaction testing in scalable and efficient way by choosing and prioritize configurations that most dissimilar. However, the similarity distances in SPL still not so much cover the basic detail of feature models which are the notations. Plus, the configurations always have been prioritized based on domain knowledge but not much attention has been paid to feature model notations. In this paper, we proposed the usage of mandatory and optional notations for similarity distances. The objective is to improve the average percentage of faults detected (APFD). We investigate four different distances and make modifications on the distances to increase APFD value. These modifications are the inclusion of mandatory and optional notations with the similarity distances. The results are the APFD values for all the similarity distances including the original and modified similarity distances. Overall, the results shown that by subtracting the optional notation value can increase the APFD by 3.71% from the original similarity distance.

Social Networks progress over time by the addition of new nodes and links, form associations with one community to the other community. Over a few decades, the fast expansion of Social Networks has attracted many researchers to pay more attention towards complex networks, the collection of social data, understand the social behaviors of complex networks and predict future conflicts. Thus, Link prediction is imperative to do research with social networks and network theory. The objective of this research is to find the hidden patterns and uncovered missing links over complex networks. Here, we developed a new similarity measure to predict missing links over social networks. The new method is computed on common neighbors with node-to-node distance to get better accuracy of missing link prediction. We tested the proposed measure on a variety of real-world linked datasets which are formed from various linked social networks. The proposed approach performance is compared with contemporary link prediction methods. Our measure makes very effective and intuitive in predicting disappeared links in linked social networks.

In this paper, A novel optimization technique called whale optimization algorithm (WOA) is modified, used and implemented to find the best possible solution to the problem of optimal locating and sizing of Distributed Generation (DG) resources such as photovoltaic cells, fuel cells and kVAR compensators in radial distribution feeders. The modified technique is used for the first time to solve this kind of optimization problem which includes optimal sizing and location of DG units in radial distribution feeder.The proposed method is applied to two different test distribution feeders (15 bus and 33 bus test systems) using different DG types and the acquired results are analyzed and compared to other modern optimization methods to confirm that they give the best results, lowest system real power losses and highest voltage profile improvement among the other modern methods implemented on the same test systems.
