Abstract

This paper presents the performance evaluation of hybrid Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model with selected meta-heuristics for predicting the AC output power fof a Grid-Connected Photovoltaic (GCPV). The ANN has been hybridized with three meta-heuristics, i.e. Cuckoo Search Algorithm (CSA), Evolutionary Programming (EP) and Firefly Algorithm (FA) separately. These meta-heuristics were used to optimize the number of neurons, learning rate and momentum rate such that the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of the prediction was minimized during the ANN training process. The results showed that CSA had outperformed EP and FA in producing the lowest RMSE. Later, Mutated Cuckoo Search Algorithm (MCSA) was introduced by incorporating Gaussian mutation operator in the conventional CSA. Further investigation showed that MSCA performed better prediction when compared with the conventional CSA in terms of RMSE and computation time.

Abstract

In the present article, a mixed type transportation problem is considered. Most of the transportation problems in real life situation have mixed type transportation problem this type of transportation problem cannot be solved by usual methods. Here we attempt a new concept of Best Candidate Method (BCM) to obtain the optimal solution. To determine the compromise solution of balanced mixed fuzzy transportation problem and unbalanced mixed fuzzy transportation problem of trapezoidal and trivial fuzzy numbers with new BCM solution procedure has been applied. The method is illustrated by the numerical examples.

Abstract

In process of three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction, effective matching of feature is the key point of accurate reconstruction in later stage. In order to eliminate the error of modeling distortion caused by inaccurate feature matching in the process of 3D image reconstruction, a feature matching error elimination method based on collision detection is presented. A 3D image reconstruction mathematical model is established to operate the solution of image 3D reconstruction and camera space matrix elements of exterior orientation. The error of the feature matching in 3D dynamic modeling is eliminated according to the result of the collision two gray digital images are used to carry out simulation experiment. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively eliminate the error of feature matching and improve the accuracy of the modeling. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i4.4250

Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the performance of Decode and Forward (DF) in multiple relay networks. We consider a cooperative diversity system where a source sends information to the destination with the aid of multi relay working in DF relaying protocol and investigate the Optimal Power Allocation (OPA) at both the source and the relay nodes. By taking advantage of the moment generating function (MGF), a closed form expression for the symbol error rate (SER) and signal to noise ratio (SNR) for both, M-Phase Shift Keying (MPSK) and M-Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (MQAM) signals has been derived to illustrate the asymptotic performance of the DF system where the approximation SER is tight at high SNR. Results show that the proposed system, based on SER lower bound is tight to the theoretical SER upper bound, and the suggested OPA outperforms the equal power allocation (EPA) and at different number of relays. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v15i1.8037

Abstract

This paper studies the methods of corner detection of hand gesture, and mainly introduces the orthogonal three-direction chain code (3OT) and uses it in corner detection of hand gesture. The study is discussed from four aspects: the techniques used in corner detection, the techniques of Freeman chain code, the main idea of 3OT, the process of corner detection with 3OT and the experiments on corner detectors used for hand gesture images of 26 letters in American Sign Language are described in detail. Experiment results show that the 3OT has well performance with exact corner detection rate and least false corner’s number. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1646

Abstract

When EV failure happens, it needs to take some fault-tolerant method to ensure people’s safety. When the current sensor and speed sensor are out of work, the software fault-tolerant control algorithm switching strategy can be used. This paper has done theoretical analysis of the rotor field-oriented vectoe control algorithm into the open loop constant V/F control algorithm, and the phase angle compensation method is used to reduce the shock of current and torque, and simulation is done in MATLAB/Simulink.  DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.3426

Abstract

Energy sources differ throughout the world-, as do the costs of acquiring those sources. Electric energy has become an important element in our daily lives, especially for those devices that cannot be eliminated due to necessity. The usage of mobile phones has become an important element of our lives and their battery consumption is increasing due to the installation of a variety of Android applications. Electricity is required to charge the battery of the mobile phone; however, and at times, while travelling in a remote area there might not be access to electricity. Thus, the mobile would not be able to recharged. This paper presents the idea to design a mobile charging system using thermoelectricity. The thermal energy from the human body has been utilized to generate the electric power needed for the mobile charging process. To do this, a Peltier circuit device is connected to the human body. The difference in temperature between the human body and the atmosphere generates the voltage at the output of the Peltier circuit. The output from the Peltier circuit is then given to the boost converter and amplified to generate 5 volts which in turn are used to charge the mobile.

Abstract

This paper in existence a complete system connected to all situations power quality event, which has been achieved using MATLAB/SIMULINK and utilizing parametric equations. In electrical energy allocation system, the disturbances of power quality have emerged as an important matter for usefulness and customers. This design incorporates distribution two capacitor bank, line fault, starting of induction motor, non-linear load and transformer energizing that are usage to simulate diverse kind of voltage sag. In simulate voltage provisional through distribution network produced as a result of effect capacitor bank switching version in the general model. For clarity, this model is advanced with an integrated block and setting in which all event situations are organized for energy quality without scarifying the gist it. This model Integrated is too beneficial to simulate different energy quality waveforms. The performance of the brand new automated categorization algorithms received are appropriate for checking waveforms of power quality.

Abstract

Sequence clustering has become an active issue in the current scientific community. However, the clustering quality is affected heavily by selecting initial clustering centers randomly. In this paper, a new sequence similarity measurement based on weighed sequential patterns is defined. SCWSPS (Sequence Clustering Algorithm Based on Weighed Sequential Pattern Similarity) algorithm is proposed. Sequences with the largest weighted similarity are chosen as the merge objects. The last K-1 synthesis results are deleted from sequence database. Others sequences are divided into K clusters. Moreover, in each cluster, the sequence which has the largest sum of similarities with other sequences is viewed as the updated center. The experimental results and analysis show that the performance of SCWSPS is better than KSPAM and K-means in clustering quality. When the sequence scale is very large, the execution efficiency of SCWSPS is slightly worse than KSPAM and K-means.

Abstract

The personal health records (PHR) always contain much health-related privacy information in different categories. When storing the PHR data in the cloud, the PHR owner loses control to the sensitive information and is confronted with potential privacy exposure. In this paper, we propose a scheme to enable the protection of the PHR data hosted in the cloud. It not only supports that the data access can be fine-grained and base on the privacy policies specified by the PHR owner, but also affords an effective encryption mechanism and flexible key management approach to enforce the privacy policies sticky to the PHR data. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i4.2406
