Abstract

The objective of this paper is to build an artificial neural network model to predict global solar radiation (GSR) with improved accuracy using less number of best input parameters selected using sensitivity analysis. In this work, the input parameters used for training the artificial neural network (ANN) models are bright sunshine duration, maximum and minimum temperature, day length, months, extra terrestrial radiation (H0), relative humidity and geographical parameters of the locations namely the latitude and longitude. Sensitivity analysis is used to discover how the output data are influenced by the changeability of the input data.Three ANN models namely T-ANN, S-ANN and TS-ANN are proposed with most suitable input parameters selected using sensitivity analysis. The principle of this feature selection using sensitivity analysis is to improve the prediction accuracy of solar radiation models with less number of inputs. The proposed ANN model is also tested under noisy data and proved that ANN is able to perform reasonably good in GSR prediction on practical applications where the data is affected by noise caused by errors on measuring, fault of data acquisition system, recording problems, and so on.

Abstract

Ballistic correction rocket is a kind of smart ammunition which can attach aims exactly. Based on domestic and foreign literature, the technology of flight attitude measurement technology was summarized. The process of the research includes independently inertial measurement unit and inertial navigation system. The previous stage is the measurement technology only depend on a navigation equipment, such as accelerometer, Gyro or electromagnetic sensors etc, the latter means combinations of several measurement units, on the basis of complementary advantages in performance to improve computing accuracy each other. Based on the measurement technology was analyzed and compared, configuration, merit and demerits of multi accelerometer were discussed in detail. The paper prospected the future development of this technology finally.

Abstract

The Li-ion battery is studied base on its equivalent circuit PNGV model. The model parameters are identified by HPPC test. The discrete state space equation is established according to the model. The basic theory of extended Kalman filter algorithm is studied and then the filtering algorithm is set up under the noisy environments. Finally, a kind of electric car is used for testing under the UDDS driving condition. The difference between the simulation value using extended Kalman filter under the noisy environment and the theoretical value is compared. The result indicated that the extended Kalman filter keeps an excellent precision in state of charge estimation of Li-ion battery and performs well when disturbance happens. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i12.3894

Abstract

In the last few years, all companies have been interested in the analysis of data related to Human Resources and have focused on human capital, which is considered as the major factor influencing the company’s development and all its activities at all levels of human resource policies. Data analysis (HR analytics) will significantly improve business profitability over the next years. We started with an extensive survey of different human resources problems and risks reported by HR specialists, then a comprehensive review of recent research efforts on computer science techniques proposed to solve these problems and finally focusing on suggested artificial intelligence methods. This review article will be an archive and a reference for computer scientists working on HR by summarizing the IT solutions already made in human resources for the period between 2008 and 2018. It aims to present clearly the issues that HR researchers face and for which computer scientists seek solutions. It summarizes at the same time the recent and different methods, IT approaches and tools already used by highlighting those using artificial intelligence.

Abstract

Campus Card is an important part in the digital campus life. However, due to the problems of current network design, in the course of card using, the signal channels are seized by a large number of communication tags, which leads to the phenomena of blocked communication process and unsmooth communication. In order to solve this problem, the communication module of card system has been optimized in this paper. The module consists of two parts, which are writing system and reading system. A multi-tasking multi-point mapping decomposition technique was introduced to the designation of communication module. Using the method based on the combination of Map and Reduce function to make the task decomposition which is from a sudden increase of network traffic characteristics and database, obtain a large number of sub-tasks, and accomplish the management of mutation network traffic. Experimental results show that in the task scheduling of optimized module, the solution time is short and response is fast. It can solve the communication blocked problems in the process of card using. Furthermore, it provides theoretical references for the improvement of communication system design of smart card, and promotes the construction of digital campus evolving. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i4.4251

Abstract

The old industrial area in the years of development remain some problems to be solved at the same time, combined with years of accumulation of environmental problems is very outstanding, leading to the sustainable development ability is weak, etc. Therefore, optimize the industrial structure of the old industrial area is necessary. This chapter through the analysis of the influencing factors of the old industrial area industrial structure optimization, so as to refine out key factors, and Shangjie District industrial structure optimization as an example to expand research on the optimization of the industrial structure, and construct industrial structure optimization model by stochastic programming method, in order to provide guidance for choosing the subsequent path of the industrial structure, it has important practical significance for promoting industrial structure of Shangjie District become more rational. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2855

Abstract

A study on the compact array microstrip patch antenna for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication system based on the antenna arrangement is performed. The 2.45 GHz rectangular array are arranged in 45 degree slanted inward and outward for each other to reduce the mutual coupling effect between the patches. The antenna properties are analyzed and compact antenna design is determined based on the simulation results. The results show the antennas can very compact while maintaining low mutual coupling. The gain of the MIMO antenna is 11.3 dBi. The simulated and tested return losses, together with the radiation patterns, are presented and discussed.

Abstract

Feature engineering (FE) is one of the most important steps in data science research. FE provides useful features to be used later in the study. Due to climate change, the research focus is moving towards air quality estimation and the impacts of air pollution on health in Malaysia. Malaysia has 66 air quality monitoring (AQM) stations, and the air quality data for research is provided in an excel worksheet format by the Department of Environment, Malaysia. The data generated by the AQM stations is in a raw custom format, and it is virtually impossible to clean and engineer this data manually due to the sheer number of files. Hence, we propose a novel feature engineering algorithm to transform and combine this data into a useable format. The results show that the proposed feature engineering algorithm was able to efficiently extract and combine the hourly and daily values for pollutant and meteorological variables in useful row format. This algorithm will help all the researchers using the data from the AQM station in Malaysia as well as other countries using the same AQM station. The implementation of the feature engineering algorithm is also available to use at GitHub (https://github.com/rajasherafgun/featureengineeringaq) under AFL-3.0 license.

Abstract

To precisely locate the grounded fault area in distribution network with DG, a new grounded fault area location algorithm based on three-phase impedance model and fault features in distribution network with DG is proposed in this paper. This method establishes three-phase impedance model if the distribution network with DG, analyzes and extracts the fault characteristics on the basis of the three phase impedance model of distribution network with DG. According to the characteristic of the feature value in the fault point, this method traverses all the nodes and gets the fault associated nodes. The method proposed in this paper was tested in a sixty nodal distribution system with six DGs, the result of the method verifies that the method can precisely locate the grounded fault area in distribution network with DG. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i11.3548
