Abstract

Soybean production is the main branch of specialization of agriculture in the south of the Far East, which is due to the unique natural advantages associated with favorable climatic conditions for the cultivation of this crop. In Russia, soybean as an agricultural crop has not historically found wide distribution, which is due to the exacting nature of this plant for various factors of production, the undeveloped culture of consumption of soy products in the diet of the population. Therefore soybeans were more used as technical raw materials for the production of the most important products of its processing - oil and meal. The purpose of this study is to identify trends in the soybean seeds market in the Far East and develop recommendations for improving the efficiency of its functioning in modern conditions. The methodology of soybean market research is based on the synthesis of economic analysis and applied methods developed in mathematical statistics. The scientific value of the results of the study is to identify the development trend of the soybean market localized in the Far East of Russia and to develop practical recommendations that complement the main provisions of the theory of spatial development and institutional configuration of market structures in the agrarian sphere.

Abstract

High voltage assets play a vital role in providing uninterrupted power to the consumers and any slight problems experienced by the assets may cause losses in millions of dollars to businesses. Therefore it is of utmost importance to monitor the health of high voltage assets. This research presents the development process of a partial discharge (PD) device that is able to detect PD acoustic waves for monitoring high voltage assets purposes. Medium voltage cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) cable was used which was introduced with spherical void defects at the joints of the cable that functioned to produce PD acoustic waves. Outcome of the development processes provides the finished design of the PD sensing device, known as partial discharge detection (PDD) device. The functionality of the PDD device was also assessed through controlled experimentations, and they proved to be successful. Pure PD waveform captured by the ultrasonic sensor was similar when compared to a HFCT sensor’s pure PD waveform. The PDD device is a small and affordable, and is opened to various improvements such as integrating artificial intelligence (AI) unto the device, and one day may replace most existing bulky and expensive PD sensing devices that are readily available in the market.

Abstract

The cluster boundary is a useful model, in order to identify the boundary effectively, according to the uneven distribution of data points int the epsilon neighborhood of boundary objects, this paper proposes a boundary detection algorithm S-BOUND. Firstly, all the points in the epsilon neighborhood of the data objects are projected onto the boundary of the convex hull of the neighborhood, and then calculate the center of gravity of the neighborhood. Finally, detect the boundary object according to the degree of deviation of the center of gravity of the neighborhood with the object. The experimental results show that the S-BOUND algorithm can accurately detect a variety of clustering boundary and remove the noises, the time of performance is also better. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i12.3620

Abstract

Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) are receiving more attention compared with other sources of power generation. Maintaining a fuel cell system requires excellent system control to receive the best operating. Therefore, in this paper a dynamic model of a (PEMFC) for residential power generation is applied. The model proposed includes the fuel cell stack model, power condition unite that consists of the methanol reformer model and DC-AC inverter model. According to power output of (PEM) fuel cell system, a fuzzy sliding mode controller which contains the characteristics of fuzzy control and sliding mode control is addressed, in order to modify the hydrogen flow feedback from the terminal load. In addition, this combined controller is used to improve stability by fuzzy reasoning to control the output variation that reduces chattering and increase the speed of tracking by reasoning of sliding mode control. Consequently, the dynamical behavior of system with FSMC is more improved as compared to the FLC and PI controller in terms of rate of hydrogen flow, output AC voltage and output power of FC and it is shown that the proposed controller can achieve better control effect than other controllers.

Abstract

The noise has incited an original data due to a network with an inferior SNR. In case of the bulk noise, the insightful content within the data is substantially squeezed.  A cost-effective method will challenge to quarantine the insights, so that information can be utilized more resourcefully.  To achieve this aim, it is essential to iron the bulk noise content out, and then calculate the analytics of the clean data. As noise is bulk so some statistical methodologies such as averaging or randomizing are employed. A prediction using the regression-based model with bulk noise for the experiment in practice is introduced. The decomposition approach to separate the insights is exploited. The proposed algorithm achieves a (local) solution at each computing step and selects the best solution in view of global impacts. The correlation coefficient, average error, absolute error and mean squared error are used to constitute the prediction. Results from MOA simulation will be compared to actual data in the succeeding time. The prediction with bulk noise using the proposed algorithm outperforms.

Abstract

Railway digital radio system, GSM-R, is a dedicated system for railway based on GSM system, which shoulders the demand of dedicated dispatching communication for railway. So it is extremely important to research the data transmission of GSM-R. In this paper, a data transmission method has been proposed, based on the actual measurement report of GSM-R and a prediction algorithm, in analyzing the relationship between Measurement Report and Transmission Interference through visualization method by using the data mining instruments. The simulation results prove that the probability of data being interrupted and retransmitted can be decreased by using this method. At the same time, a teaching platform is established for analyzing the actual test data and the simulation in high-speed railway system, which can contribute to the theoretical research and the teaching. And the mass data used in this paper comes from this platform. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2801

Abstract

A new fast handover algorithm for LTE high-speed rail networks is proposed in this paper. In railway environment, the motion direction and the GPS information of the train can be obtained at any time. Moreover, the neighbor cell that the UE will go through can be precognitive. The above information are utilized to bring forward a fast handover scheme in this paper, which can give a set of alternative reference points appropriate to trigger handover procedure instead of the measured information in A3 event based scheme. The proposed algorithm can evidently reduce time latency and accordingly shorten the necessary overlapping area of handover procedure, and the simulation results show that it has better performance than typical A3 event based handover algorithm in high-speed rail environment. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i3.4498

Abstract

Recently, the cyber security of vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET) including two practicable: car-to-car and car-to-infrastructure has been considered due to importance. It has become possible to keep pace with the development in the world, where the safety of people is a priority in the development of technology in general and in particular in the field of VANET. In this paper, a cyber security system for VANET has been proposed to tackle the DOS attacks. The proposed system includes three security levels. Firstly, the registeration level that ask vehicles to be registered in the system, in which the network exclude the unrigestered ones. Secondly, the authentication level that checks the vehicles before joining the network. This is done by applying a proposed algorithm that considers the hash function and factory number. Thirdly, the proposed system ables to detect the DOS attack by any involved vehicle using the monitoring algorithm that allocate such vehicle to be excluded from the network. The obtained results show the efficient performance of the proposed system in managing the security of the VANET network. The multi-level system increases the security of the network, in which the attacks can be eliminated.

Abstract

Impulse Radio Ultra-Wideband (IR-UWB) radar is a type of radar functioning based on UWB transmission technology that uses an exceedingly wide bandwidth low power impulse signal to continuously transmitting and receiving the impulse signal for object detection within a range. To date, most of the proposed Ultra-Wideband (UWB) transmission technology based object positioning estimation systems for indoor environment depends on objects to be attached with an active UWB devices. In certain circumstances, it is ideal to track objects in passive manner without the requirement of any attached tracking devices or device-free object positioning estimation. IR-UWB radar has shown promising utilization in realizing device-free object positioning estimation for indoor environment.  With this motivation, in this paper a work on weighted least squares consideration for IR-UWB radar based device-free object positioning estimation for indoor environment is presented.
