Abstract

This paper reports the effect of the different deposition methods towards the ZnO nanostructure crystal quality and film thickness on the polyimide substrate. The ZnO film has been deposited by using the spray pyrolysis technique, sol-gel and RF Sputtering. Different methods give a different nanostructure of the ZnO thin film. Sol gel methods, results of nanoflowers ZnO thin film with the thickness of thin film is 600nm. It also produces the best of the piezoelectric effect in term of electrical performance, which is 5.0 V and 12 MHz of frequency which is higher than other frequency obtained by spray pyrolysis and RF sputtering.

Abstract

Once broadcast transmitters are put into operation, regulatory bodies in different countries require the equipment to be monitored, data logged and controlled. Normally, transmitter personnel turn ON the transmitter at the start of the broadcasting activities, and turn it OFF at the end of the activities. They also regularly record the transmitter meter readings on output power, voltage and current as long as the transmitter is on-air. These data must be logged and saved for future references. These procedures are done by transmitter personnel manually. With the advent of internet technology, this paper presents a system to remotely monitor, gather and record meter readings, and a provision to control the turning ON/OFF as well as to adjust the output power of a number of digital transmitters. All these procedures are done in one central location. The system was implemented and then tested using a digital television transmitter. Results of the tests show that the developed system capable of performing the functions of a transmitter technician in monitoring, logging and control of broadcast transmitters remotely. With the use of the system, broadcast networks can reduce operating costs in tending their transmitters but still able to comply with the requirements.

Abstract

Oxy-fuel combustion is recognizing one of the most promising available technologies that zero emission accomplishment may be in the offing. With coal burned under the pressure of 6MPa and oxygen-enriched conditions, the high temperature and high pressure gaseous combustion product is composed of 95% CO2 and water-vapor, with the rest of O2, N2 and so on. However, once lauded as classic approach of resolving fuel gas enthalpy calculation pertaining to ideal gas at atmospheric pressure was restrained by pressure limitations. In this paper, the flue gas was assumed by an ideal mixture of four real gases system, and the equations for calculating the flue gas enthalpy were derived by using the cofunction method incorporating with the Dalton’s law of pressure summation based on the Virial equation. Consequently, the results showed that the calculation method on the basis of the Dalton’s law of pressure summation appears to be a reasonable enthalpy values for the 6MPa oxygen-enriched coal combustion as opposed to the inferior cofunction method. DOI:  http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i4.850

Abstract

In this paper, we use integral equation and damped least-squares method to invert three dimensional abnormal body's electromagnetic field through horizontal electric dipole source multiple locations excitation. Multiple groups  electromagnetic field data in different excitation and receiving points to be uniform consideration in once inversion, the Jacobian matrix is obtained and divided into linear terms and nonlinear terms. At last, we use the forward simulation data fit the measured data, and gradually modify geoelectricity model parameter values, ultimately achieve optimal fitting, gain three dimensional abnormal body's resistivity. Model test shows that the inversion algorithm has a fast convergence speed, less dependents on the initial value; the inversion result is accurate and reliable. Abstract

An improved method of SVM-BPSO feature selection based on cloud model is proposed to solve the local deadlock problem of the current SVM-BPSO methods. This method uses the Wrapper evaluation strategy, making SVM as the classifier, BPSO algorithm is adopted to conduct a whole search in the feature space to seek out the optimal feature subset from the classification results of SVM. The inertia weight of BPSO algorithm is adjusted by Cloud Model intelligently and self-adaptively, the whole and local searching capability of SVM-BPSO feature selection algorithm get balanced, and prevent it into the local deadlock effectively. Analysis on simulations shows that the improved method of SVM-BPSO feature selection based on Cloud Model can be able to dap out from the local optimum with a faster convergence rate, and shows good experimental effect. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.5005

Abstract

This paper proposed the algorithm of the sky color rendering based on the relationship between the height of viewpoint and the altitude of scattering point with atmospheric density after the study of atmospheric absorption and scattering and sky illumination simulation methods. It proposed the simplified algorithm of the sky perspective illumination. The geometrical model of the sky dome and rotation and the sun location is presented. The rendering method based on GPU is designed. Abstract

The aim of this paper is to model the Portable Manager and allow it to aid in communication among Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs) carrying information across the mobile nodes in the network. In this article, Modeling Portable Manager aiding in the MANET Communication (MMAC) is proposed. The novelty is present in the use of node performance parameter called as α defined as the ratio of the packet received, packet loss and delay of the node which could be used for the next hop selection in the mobile ad hoc network. The Portable Manager (PM) is used to find out the relay node in the network. The working of the PM with a minimal number of nodes is analyzed and presented through the simulations in the network simulator.

Abstract

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a one of the fastest growing and most beneficial technologies being adopted by businesses today. One of the important issues is localization of items in a warehouse or business premise and to keep track of the said items, it requires devices which are costly to deploy. This is because many readers need to be placed in a search space. In detecting an object, a reader will only report the signal strength of the tag detected. Once the signal strength report is obtained, the system will compute the coordinates of the RFID tags based on each data grouping. In this paper, algorithms using genetic algorithm, particle swarm, ant colony optimization are proposed to achieve the shortest path for an RFID mobile reader, while covering full search area. In comparison, for path optimization, the mobile reader traverses from one node to the next, moving around encountered obstacles in its path.  The tag reading process is iterative, in which the reader arrives at its start point at the end of each round. Based on the shortest path, an algorithm that computes the location of items in the search area is used. The simulation results show that the ACO method works more effectively and efficiently compare to others when solving shortest path problems.

Abstract

Aiming at reverberation and interlayer multiple short period common multiples, with predictive deconvolution multiple attenuation methods exist this problem several residues, through the design of adaptive filter, iterative formula of least mean square algorithm to update the adaptive predictor of key parameters of deconvolution, predictive step and factor by multiple wave length distribution period and different to automatically set the range. Through the model experiment, the method of reverberation, interlayer multiples were especially obvious effect data, and verified by practical data analysis maps, some key results contrast income, show that the method has a good application prospect.

Abstract

We propose a 3D localization algorithm used in ship area networks (SANs) in the literature before. In this paper in order to explore more performances of ELCV we made some other comprehensive simulations. In ELCV a classic noise model is introduced to characterize the acoustic background noise observed in SANs. Meanwhile random communication range nodes are placed in the SANs. ELCV is addressed to provide robust estimation of unknown nodes in the presence of outliers. In this algorithm sensor nodes are also equipped with random communication range that can be changed during a set scope. With ELCV, each individual unknown node will acquire data packages from anchors and then solve for a spatial node on some given point in cube space formed by eight neighbor anchors. With other three related anchor nodes around symmetric tetrahedron can be formed. Finally by centroid algorithm, in this symmetric tetrahedron, estimated node positions with accuracy and robustness are obtained. In this work more parameters are changed and different environment arguments are taken into account and then simulation results are given. By these simulation results we further prove the accuracy, efficiency and robustness in SANs.
