Abstract

The aims of this activity are 1) to introduce and to apply the 5R principles to handle the household waste, 2)  to introduce and to apply composting method of  the organic household waste in Takakura Bin, 3) to introduce and to apply the producing method of recycled paper, and 4) to evaluate the technology which introduced and applied. The participants are 11 housewives. The activity methods are extention and practicing (learning by doing). All of participants are exited.  The results of evaluation analysis show that 78,41 % said that the technology which introduced and applied are very good and 21,59 % participants said that the technology are good. Keywords: household waste, 5R principles, takakura bin, recycled paper

Abstract

The most of navvies is the low level education informal worker. More than 80% of them have only completed their primary school. The navvies are lacking in Occupational Health and Safety (K3). They never wear Personal Protective Equipment (APD) in their activity. Half of them almost do not know about this standard and this equipment. While others say that it is impractical and interfere with their work while they wear it. The purpose of this program is providing information about the urgency of K3 and training in the use of APD for workers. The results of the application of science and technology show that the risk of navvy have the big potential accidents. The program created an awareness of few of them to apply K3 although not yet fully implemented. K3 is very important and useful for navvy. Keywords: safety, health, work, navvy, accidents

Abstract

Community service activities have been carried out in the Permu Village, Kepahiang Subdistrict, Kepahiang District. The target group is the group of mothers who take shelter Permu village in the "Tik Kerto". The purpose of this activity is to increase the number and improve the quality of coffee of Permu Village. The activities carried out by the method of illumination and field practice, transfer of technology, and promotion of products. Results show that a group of mothers who take the activities of in the village Permu Tik Kerto group are very enthusiastic and improving the quantity and quality of coffee products of Permu Village. Technology transfer processing using the ground coffee roaster machine is responded well and the quality of the resulting coffee powder are in accordance with SNI 01-3542-2004, the national standard of coffee. The conclusion of this activity is the formation of industry groups Tik Kerto coffee, coffee quality after transfer of technology is better than before, Permu Village coffee product of group of mothers Tik Kerto is improved. Suggestions for next years, implementation of the PPM complement of the activities carry out infrastructure and facilities for the production of ground coffee of Permu Village. Keywords: Coffee, Quantity and Quality Improvement, Permu Village

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity is to produce qualified seeds of forest plants, reduce sawdust waste and human sewage, providing value-added sawdust and human sewage so that it becomes more useful, reducing the use of topsoil, thereby reducing topsoil dredging. This service activity was conducted in August to October 2014 at Pulau Beringin Village, District of Pondok Kelapa, Central Bengkulu. The targets of the activity are the members of farmers and members of the youth group. The activity uses methods of counseling, training and demonstration. Making the mixture media from sawdust and humanure for growing media of community plantation forest seedling in Pulau Beringin Village is one right step in the process of sawmill waste business and household waste. Making the growing medium mixture of these wastes in addition to add to the skills of the members of farmer groups and the youth institution in managing waste can also be used as an attempt to increase the income of members of farmers and members of the youth group in the village of Pulau Beringin. Abstract

This community service activity was focused on the early childhood education school (PAUD or Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini), because this institution is now becoming a national public movement. Early childhood who are in the age range of 0 to 6 years old. At that time the chidren are experiencing a process of growth and development in various aspects, such as: physical, social, language and cognitive skills very quikly and is fundametal for their future. In fact, neurosccience experts call this developmental period of childhood as the golden age that between the age of 0 to 6 years old can give full attention by providing a good education for their children. Because of the importance of early childhood education, then this community service activity intended to provide guidance and aids to an early childhood education school (PAUD) whose condition is very poor, namely that in Pondok Kubang village.This PAUD was founded in 2008 on the initiative of the World Bank. However, since three years ago the World Bank has no longer given funds. Asd a result, this PAUD has become very poor. Almost all of the existing toys and books are now damaged. Event funds to provide incentives for teachers were not available. The metod used in this community service activity is an enhancement to the teachers by discussing and providing aids in the form of short-leg table to write, books of folklore, world story books, studying media, puzzles, and other game tools. Abstract

Tapa Gedung village is a village with the majority of the population are farmers. Coffee beans in this village are usually directly sold to buyers without any further processing into coffee powder. The people’s income are still very low. Therefore, the team did a variation dedication and creativity in the coffee beans produced by the community making ginger coffee. Method offered in this proposal is debriefing, direct practice, mentoring, monitoring, evaluation, packaging and marketing. Results of these service activities show that the community is very anthusiastic due to variations in the development of the coffee powder into a coffee flavor of ginger. The selling price of coffee is also increased. Another advantage of coffee products is able to enhance the creativity and people’s revenue. With this program, people become creative to make a variety of products. With the products that are useful and economically valuable, of course will generate revenue for the community, so expect the public revenue that average below the minimum wage could increase at least not under UMR. This program also gave knowledge and expertise (skills) community in the Village of Tapak Gedung in ginger processing and trained about packaging and marketing of coffee ginger product. Keywords: Ginger coffee, Desa Tapak Gedung, Coffee Farmers

Abstract

The purpose of the community service activity is to obtain alternative fuel, reduce waste rice husk, rice husk value-added so that it becomes more useful and reduce the illegal logging. This community service activity is done from August - September 2014 in the village of Srikaton, District of Pondok Kelapa, Central Bengkulu. The target of this activity is PKK members, members of the youth institution and farmer group members. The methods used in this activities are counseling, training and demonstration. Rice husk briquette as an alternative kerosene in the village Srikaton is one right step in the processing of agricultural waste. Abstract

Students of SMK Negeri 5 Bengkulu are given batik skills provision in Textile Craft Competence since 1995. The quality of students’ batik production, especially batik Basurek, has been recognized nationally. Traditional batik skills can be coupled with insight into computer graphics. As the generations facing the global market, batik craftsmen are charged to be more creative using technology in developing their business. Implementation method of the community service program is the method of knowledge transfer to the students and applying the concept of graphic design by using Adobe Photoshop. Direct practice using the computer and debriefing between instructor and participants help participants in understanding of training material. Evaluation are conducted by comparing the results of observations before and after training. From the results of the evaluation we concluded that trainees are already able to understand the basic functions of the software Adobe Photoshop and using it to design batik. Keywords: adobe photoshop, batik basurek, graphic design, senior high school student

Abstract

Kabawetan sub-district is one of the central areas of plantation, agriculture and animal husbandry in the province of Bengkulu. In running their farm, farmers still use conventional system, especially the use of anorganic fertilizer (chemical factory) and overused pesticide. Besides as a farmer, almost in every village people also seek beef cattle and dairy cattle. Farm waste already started causing environmental problems for society, while on the other hand they have difficulty in getting the fertilizer for business continuity (horticultural crops). With input from the farmers, we agreed to offer a solution using animal waste into organic fertilizer. The form of such activities carry out: education and counseling about environmental friendly agriculture; as well as training in the making Bokashi and biourine. Later stage is making plots experiment to apply organic fertilizer produced vegetable plants. This community service activity has been done and able to reduce farmers' dependence on chemical fertilizers and chemical pesticides, and also revive local knowledge in farming. From the aspect of production, horticultural products (vegetables) produced by farmers are more environmental friendly. Keywords: Horticulture, Bokashi, Biourine, Organic Farming

Abstract

The aim of this community service is to improve the environment and public health in the city of Bengkulu, and the success of the human development index in the health sector. While the goal in particular is the amount of waste in the landfill can be significantly reduced over time so that the cleanliness of the environment and health can be realized, can boost the economic value of the plastic waste from households because it can be sold to a factory producing plastic pellets and machinery This can help people who are interested in waste processing technology to become entrepreneurs plastic pellets. This activity lasted for ten months in cooperation with two partners, namely the Parks Department and Sanitation of Bengkulu and CV Terang Bulan engaged in the sale of plastic waste. In implementing this program assisted with the research team of students to design and create a municipal waste processing machine a plastic which is more practical with affordable production costs for society. On completion of this machine in addition to the stages involves students will also involve CV. Terang Bulan as a partner in business who have started this garbage. The partners are expected to play an active role in providing fill-enter on the specifications desired by the user. After making machines is completed then it is disseminated to the public that waste management is important and profitable economically. Keywords: Waste Processing Machines, Seeds plastic, household waste
