Abstract

This article is based on a phenomenon of inequality that occurs in Indonesia, which is still quite high. Besides, the current reality shows that the implementation of political economy has not been able to meet the primary needs of each individual. This article aims to describe and elaborate on the concepts and objectives of the Islamic political economy. The qualitative descriptive method is used with a literature review approach with sources from books, journals, news, and other sources relevant to the title. The results of the discussion of this article show that economic politics in the perspective of Islam has a different perspective from capitalists. Islamic Political Economics aims to fulfill each individual's primary needs (food, shelter, and clothing). In implementing the Islamic Political Economy, the state has an important role, either directly or indirectly. As for case studies in Indonesia, regarding aspects of fulfilling food needs, it is ranked 73rd globally with a GHI of 21.9. This is a huge number at a serious level. The number shows that the Indonesian government has not been able to fulfill one of the political goals of Islamic economics, namely the fulfillment of each individual's food. In addition, in terms of security, education and health have not also been well fulfilled. It is expected that this writing will become a reference and add to the treasure of thought regarding the Islamic economy.

Abstract

Abstract.     Financial performance is an analysis to see how a company carries out the rules of implementing finances properly and correctly. The measurement of the financial performance of Islamic banks mostly still uses conventional measurement indicators, namely profitability. This is considered less relevant because the measurement of the performance of Islamic banks should be measured based on the suitability of sharia. Sharia Conformity and Profitability is a tool that measures the integrity of a bank but still does not ignore the conventional side because the purpose of Islamic banks is to seek profit. This study aims to analyze the influence of Good Governance Business Sharia on Sharia Conformity and Profitability of Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia. The population in this study used all Islamic Commercial Banks (BUS) in Indonesia. The sample used was eleven Sharia Commercial Banks in Indonesia in 2012-2016. The method in this study uses explanatory research methods. The data analysis technique used is panel data regression. The results showed that the level of implementation of Good Governance Business Sharia was good enough and tended to increase. The Sharia Conformity and Profitability level of Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia has a high level of performance which means that the average performance is above average. The implementation of Good Governance Business Sharia (GGBS) positively affects Sharia Conformity but harms Profitability. The results have important implications for Islamic Commercial Banks and regulators regarding Good Governance Business Sharia. It should be modified as it aligns with sharia conformity but does not impact profitability. Keywords.    Financial performance, Sharia Conformity, and Profitability, Good Governance Business Sharia.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the value of Islamic public bank companies registered at OJK during 2013-2017. The used approach is the capital structure theory of MM preposition and David Durand. The used analytical method in this study is panel data regression analysis with the Random Effect Model. The study results show that the tax rate, profitability, and cost of capital simultaneously affect Islamic commercial bank companies' value. Partially, tax rates and profitability affect the value of Islamic commercial bank companies. The cost of capital does not affect the value of Islamic commercial bank companies. This study proved that the prevailing MM preposition capital structure theory is MM prepositions without tax in companies based on institutional ownership, especially Islamic commercial banks. This study also succeeded in proving that the theory of David Durand's capital structure was proven. The cost of capital variables become influential when the company is divided into two based on institutional ownership.
