Abstract

In today's digital age, there are many complicated social issues that need to be solved, and design thinking is certainly the most effective approach. This essay aims to elucidate the notion of design thinking, which is influenced by the demands of modern society. The major objective of design thinking is to steer clear of ideal answers and develop the best possible solutions for society. Not necessarily what is beneficial for society will be ideal. Empathy is therefore a necessary component of every social design thought process. The core building blocks of social design thinking are the five stages of information gathering, problem analysis, concept generation, prototype modeling, and critical evaluation. In order to offer the greatest potential answers, empathy must be employed at every stage. Because the main goal of social design thinking is to create sustainable, human-centered solutions.

Abstract

The development of religious tourism does not have to be related to mystical or sacred things. But it can be developed into a creative park with open facilities for children to play. As happened in the Maospati Magetan Village, it has succeeded in developing a village pundhen which was originally a wingit (sacred) place which was converted into an open (profane) park, named Park Creation Lo Sari Maospati. However, this creative park is still used as an annual village clean location by the community. The theory used by the researcher as a research reference in this study is the theory of action from Max Weber, because the researcher sees the phenomenon of the development of the Lo Sari creation park in an effort to empower social and spiritual economy, which is very relevant to the theory of action from Max Weber. This research approach uses a qualitative approach with a Schutz phenomenological perspective. The results of the study indicate that there are at least three groups of people who can be analyzed for their social actions. First, community groups with instrumental rational action, such as village officials and Pokadrwis. They assume that the development of Lo Sari's Pundhen into a creative park will increase the income of local residents. The second group is value rational action, almost the same as instrumental rational action group, except that this group prioritizes religious values. While the third is a traditional action, where the actors who carry out activities at Pundhen Lo Sari are those who follow their previous parents.

Abstract

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is a public health problem that stigmatizes its victims. Mental attacks, as a result of labeling and discrimination, result in psychological suffering and well-being for persons living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA), necessitating adequate treatment. Thus, it is critical for this research to undertake a systematic assessment of scientific articles on Negative Stigma Against People Living with HIV/AIDS. This study used a descriptive analysis approach to examine publications containing the terms HIV/AIDS stigma that were published in the Scopus database between 2011 and 2018. The data is then processed and visualized using Vosviewer software, and the results show the four most dominant concepts studied by the previous author, namely human, female and human immunodeficiency virus infection. The contribution of this research is to become a reference to find out the root of the problem and the harmful impact of stigmatization on people with HIV/AIDS to help formulate recommendations for prevention and treatment that can be done (normalization). However, this research is limited because the data source only comes from Scopus. Therefore, to produce a comparative, broad, and comprehensive analysis, further studies need to include sources of other reputable international journals such as the Web of Science (WoS).

Abstract

This study aimed at examining the patterns and strategies of public service communication in Indonesian border areas, especially those carried out by the BNPP-RI as the management agency of the state border areas. The study focuses on the public service communication of BNPP-RI in their Twitter social media account @bnpp_ri. This study employed a descriptive-qualitative approach by utilizing the Nvivo12 analysis tools as the data processing tool. Several aspects investigated to find out the communication patterns of BNPP's public services on Twitter were communication types, communication intensity, actor relations, dominant topics, and other related aspects. The study results found that BNPP, in its Twitter account, has been quite capable of utilizing digital platforms as an alternative to public service communication in the Indonesian border areas. On the other hand, some shortcomings were also indicated. For example, When viewed from content intensity, Twitter account @bnpp_ri was deemed volatile. Furthermore, @bnpp_ri is also considered unable to dominantly involve other actors/accounts in establishing the public service communication on Twitter. BNPP must address these shortcomings to optimize the communication pattern of public services on Twitter. It is also vital to consider the fundamental role of BNPP as an active agency in communicating its public services in the border areas of the Republic of Indonesia.

The results of this study reveal that there are several essential issues in agrarian reform policies in Indonesia, namely land conflicts, land governance, land services, land use permits, land distribution, people's land, and land arrangement. Some of these issues are related to one another. In general, land management which includes community land management, land distribution, land use permits, and optimal land services, is an effort to reduce massive agrarian conflicts that occur to this day in Indonesia. This research contributes to formulating and optimizing the implementation of agrarian conflict management policies in Indonesia. The limitation of this research is that the data used is only sourced from agrarian reform policies, so further research needs to use other data sourced directly from cases of agrarian conflicts in Indonesia.

Abstract

Sport is a means for women to voice gender equality, but this is difficult to realize in Afghanistan. To be precise, in 2021, since the Taliban returned to power, women have been banned from participating in sports. Ebrahim Noroozi captured this in a series of photos published on the Associated Press' official website. This study aims to discover the message that Noroozi wants to convey in 15 photographs. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method by utilizing visual rhetorical theory by Foss and Hesford and Brueggemann's rhetorical triangle as data analysis techniques. From the analysis that has been carried out, it is found that this collection of photos is a form of criticism of the conservative policies implemented by the Taliban government which deprived Afghan women of the freedom to engage in sports and the freedom to carry out various other activities. The photographer utilizes a series of photographic techniques to create the illusion of audience intimacy with the phenomenon being raised. These photos were produced with the intention of getting public attention and provoking audiences to act and provide support to Afghan women.
