Abstract

Mothers with children with special needs have a higher stress level than parents with normal children. Mothers usually show psychological symptoms including depression and anxiety which will affect the quality of life of the child. Objective: This study aims to determine the stress level of mothers who have children with special needs at SLB Sindangsari Cikoneng Sindangsari. Methods: The study used a descriptive method with the instrument using a questionnaire. Results: It was found that of the 32 respondents in the moderate stress category, 30 respondents (93.75%) were found. Suggestion: support is needed, especially from the family so that the stress experienced by mothers with children with special needs can be overcome

Abstract

Formalin is a hazardous chemical substance to public health which is often used in tofu products. Tofu is a vegetable product usage as a source of protein derived from soybeans, a protein that is needed by humans growth. This study aims to test the presence or absence of formalin content in tofu sold in the Betung Banyuasin market, South Sumatra. A qualitative method is used in the form of a color test by adding turmeric solution. The results of the qualitative test showed that the tofu contained negative formalin. The color test was carried out using a turmeric solution. In conclude, of the color test showed that 6 negative samples contained formalin, indicated by the solution not changing, namely the orange color of the natural color of turmeric did not change

Abstract

Child development is all changes that occur in children seen from various aspects, including physical (motor), language, psychosocial, socialization, moral, and belief aspects. Gross motor skills are body movements using large muscles or all limbs influenced by the child's own maturity. While fine motor is a movement that only involves certain body parts and is carried out by small muscles.This research is a quantitative study using a cross sectional approach where the independent and dependent variables are collected at the same time. The research population is all mothers who have children aged 3-5 years who attend RA. Amanah Al Fatonah, Mengulak Village, OKU Timur Regency in 2021, as many as 27 people. The sampling technique was Total Sampling technique so that the number of samples in this study was 27 respondents.The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge and motor development of children aged 3-5 years with p value = 0.04, and there was a relationship between education and motor development of children aged 3-5 years with a p value of 0.004.Mother's knowledge and education play an important role to help optimal child development. With knowledge, mothers will obtain information, including how to properly care for children, maintain child health, and stimulate child development.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted all aspects of life. Lockdown policies, poverty due to layoffs, and a lot of information about deaths have disrupted people's mental health. This study aims to prove the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the anxiety of pregnant women. The research method is a systematic review with 4 (four) stages of work: identification, screening, feasibility, and input. Search articles using three databases: Proquest, PubMed, and Google Sholar during the covid-19 pandemic period (2019-2021). The article is an English and Bahasa journal. The results of the study found 1,712 articles. After screening the eligibility criteria articles are 29 articles then reviewed. The results of the study show that the COVID-19 pandemic causes anxiety in pregnant women. The poverty factor makes the anxiety level higher. Special policies are needed for health services for pregnant women and economic support for families who have pregnant women.

Abstract

Patients with diabetes mellitus ≥ 5 years of age can cause diabetic peripheral neuropathy, which is a symmetrical peripheral nerve disorder characterized by sensory, motor and autonomic disorders that affect the outer leg nerves. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between duration of suffering from diabetes mellitus and the occurrence of peripheral neuropathy. This type of research is analytic with a cross sectional design, a sample of 52 respondents who are in the working area of ​​Puskesmas Tiban Baru Batam City, using purposive sampling with MNSI (Michigan Neuropathy Screening Instrument) questionnaire. The results of this study found that most people with diabetes mellitus ≥ 5 years were 31 respondents (59.6%), most of them had peripheral neuropathy as many as 31 respondents (59.6%) and almost all patients with diabetes mellitus ≥ 5 years had peripheral neuropathy as many as 24 respondents (77.4%). From the results of the chi suare statistical test p value = 0.001 (0.05), Ha is accepted, this indicates that there is a significant relationship between the duration of suffering from diabetes mellitus and the occurrence of peripheral neuropathy. People with diabetes mellitus are obliged to maintain a pattern of daily life such as physical activity, diet, and regularity in taking medication to reduce the risk of peripheral neuropathy.

Abstract

Purple ruellia flower is a garden and yard ornamental plant that we often find in our environment. This study aims to determine whether purple ruellia flowers in a certain concentration are able to provide moisture and do not cause skin irritation. Purple ruellia flowers were macerated with 96% ethanol solvent, then ethanol extract of purple ruellia flowers was made with concentrations of 1%, 1.5%, 2%, 25%, and blanks. The results showed that purple ruellia simplex Wright flower ethanol extract lotion could be used as a homogeneous skin moisturizer, at concentrations of 1%, 1.5%, 2%, 2.5% stable in terms of odor changes. The ethanol extract of purple ruellia flower (Ruellia simplex Wright) in a concentration (2.5%) had a water content of (47.3%), almost the same as the comparison lotion on the market (CITRA) of (47.6%) in the "moist" category. , studied moisturizing lotion preparations do not irritate the skin.

Abstract

Protein Energy Malnutrition (PEM) is one of the important nutritional disorders in Indonesia and other developing countries. One of the highest prevalence is found in children under five, one of which is caused by mother's knowledge. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between mother's knowledge about protein energy malnutrition and the nutritional status of preschool children at the Clinic. The sample in this study were all mothers who had preschool-aged children who came to visit Kristina Clinic Perumnas Sidikalang in 2021 as many as 32 people. The results showed that the majority of respondents had good knowledge and the nutritional status of children was within normal limits, and there was a relationship between mother's knowledge of protein energy malnutrition and the nutritional status of preschool children with p = 0.001. The higher the mother's knowledge, the higher the child's nutritional status will be.

Abstract

The government's target in reducing the prevalence of stunting aims to reduce the number of people who are not qualified, because it will have an impact on the country's economy. Phase 1 data collection method was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 40 mothers who gave birth in Langkat, Deli Serdang and Medan. In the second stage, data collection was carried out using a quasi-experimental design. The approach taken is a non-randomized pre and post test with control design. Respondents in the second stage were 20 infants aged 6-12 months.Based on massage therapy performed by mothers for very large babies, as many as 21 people (52.5%). Data analysis using Chi-Squared p value = 0.019 < (0.05), meaning that there is a significant relationship between mother's knowledge and massage therapy for babies. In the first month of massage, the baby's average weight increased by 49 grams, then there was an increase in the baby's weight again in the second month, namely an increase of 40 grams and in the 3rd month an increase in body weight of 94 grams. Weight gain in infants from 0 months - 3 months, then it can be seen that the weight gain in babies who are given massage is above the weight of babies who are not given massage.

Abstract

In Indonesia and the world are experiencing the Covid-19 Pandemic. During the postpartum period, breastfeeding is highly recommended because it has been shown to provide a very strong protective effect against infectious diseases by increasing the baby's immune system and in various studies that this virus has never been found in breast milk, so this is a way for mothers to continue breastfeeding their babies. by continuing to practice procedures to prevent mother-to-child transmission of infection. The purpose of this study was to find out in depth the attitude of breastfeeding mothers who survived COVID-19 during the self-isolation period. Qualitative research methods directly to 30 informants, with a phenomenological study approach. Data was collected through observation and in-depth interviews. The data were analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological adjusted to the size of the Guide for Breastfeeding Mothers (who are in Self-Isolation) during the Covid-19 Pandemic of the Indonesian Ministry of Health. The results of research conducted during the pandemic in 2020 showed positive and negative attitudes from breastfeeding mothers in the care of babies carried out, breastfeeding babies with Covid transmission prevention procedures, support from health workers and problems faced during self-isolation.

Abstract

From the results of the initial survey conducted by the author of 12 PUS in Gasaribu Village, the authors found 6 of them said that they had heard about family planning contraceptives but were not interested in becoming family planning acceptors because of wrong understanding or myths about contraception, one of which was the side effect of contraception. use of contraceptive methods and feelings of embarrassment because the contraceptive device is placed on their genitals. And 6 other people said they knew about the contraceptive method but did not use it because they wanted to have more children. Univariate analysis is an analysis that focuses on the depiction or descriptive of the data obtained. Describe the frequency distribution of each of the independent variables and the dependent variable. Bivariate analysis to see the relationship between family planning knowledge of reproductive age couples in using contraceptives. The data collected were analyzed using the chi square statistical test. Most of the respondents did not participate in the family planning program as many as 54 respondents (72.97%), while PUS who participated in the family planning program were as many as 20 respondents (27.03%). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the majority of respondents' knowledge (PUS) about family planning in Gasaribu Village, Laguboti District, Toba Regency, has good knowledge, as many as 35 respondents (71.00%). 20 respondents (67.3%) did not participate in the family planning program, while 54 respondents (3 2, 7%) did not participate in the family planning program. The highest percentage of family planning participation based on cross tabulation of respondents with less knowledge was 8 respondents (34.7%), while the highest percentage did not participate in family planning programs with good knowledge as many as 27 respondents (77.2%). There is no significant relationship between the level of knowledge about family planning and participation in family planning in PUS in Gasaribu Village, Laguboti District, Toba Regency in 2021 as indicated by the chi-square statistical test with the result of a p-value of 0.318.
