Abstract

The Use of the Intra Uterine Device (IUD) in couples of childbearing age is still a major concern and has become a big problem for the health of countries in the world including developing countries. The purpose of this research was to determine the factors causing the use of the IUD in couples of childbearing age in Desa Gunung Hasahatan Kecamatan Padangsidimpuan Batunadua Kota Padangsidimpuan. This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional study design. The sample in this study was as many as 49 people. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling. The Data was analyzed by univariate and bivariate used the Chi-Square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between the causes of age (p = 0.036), parity (p = 0.046), knowledge (p = 0.019) with the used of the IUD contraceptive. Expected to health workers to further enhance health promotion efforts especially about contraceptive IUD intensively through direct communication to the community with involve husband and family

Abstract

Regular administration of Anti Tuberculosis Drug is one of key success of tuberculosis treatmen. Discontinuing treatment, has resulted a double immune and Multu Drug Resistant (MDR) in pulmonary tuberculosis bacterias. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Attitude, Distance and Family Support on adherence to anti Tuberculosis Treatment. Subject and Method: This study was a cross-sectional study carried out in working area Mekar Jaya Health Center. A total sample 65 patents who diagnosed TB which cunducted in April 2021. The dependent variable was adherence to Anti Tuberculosis Drug. The independent variables were Attitude,Distance and family support. Result: The findings revealed that 61.5 % of respondents did not comply with treatment, while 38.5 %. The bivariate test results attitude was possitively associated (p-value 0.009; OR; 3.946 CI (1.364-11.416), distance p-value 0.002, OR; 5.333 CI (1.801-15.797), and family support with p-value 0.003, OR 5.091 CI (1.684-15.390) To concluded, attitude, distance and family support are associated with patient’s adherence to anti tuberculosis drug treatment.

Abstract

Self-concept is a holistic view of himself, which includes his abilities, feelings he experiences, his physical condition and his immediate environment. Negative self-concept is triggered by several things, ranging from the inability to respect oneself to the inability to play a role in the family environment and friends around it. One of the ages at risk for developing a negative self-concept is teenagers. One way to change adolescent self-concept from Negative to Positive is by Therapeutic Group Therapy. Group therapy is an important place for social learning because social interaction is a key aspect of the adolescent development process. This study aims to determine the effect of Therapeutic Group Therapy on improving the self-concept of the VII private Madrasah Tsanawiyah students in the city of Pinang Utara, North Sumatra in 2021. This study used a pre-experimental type with a one group pretest and posttest design. The number of the research population was 150 people from several seventh grade students who had negative self-concepts. The number of samples is 16 people, using the Non Probability technique, the instrument used is the TSCS Questionnaire whose validity has been tested by previous researchers. The results of the study using the Paired T Test obtained p value 0.000 (p <0.05). This shows that there is an effect of Therapeutic Group Therapy on the Improvement of Student Self-Concept VII Madrasah Tsanawiyah Private Islamiyah City of Pinang, North Sumatra in 2021.

Abstract

A very high-risk pregnancy is a risk group for pregnant women with the highest number of maternal and neonatal deaths. One way that can be carried out to prevent maternal and infant complications is to provide complete midwifery care. The purpose of this case study is to provide complete midwifery care to Mrs. "W" from pregnancy to family planning. The research design used is a case study with the research subject of Mrs. ”W”. Methods of collecting data through interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The results of midwifery care for Mrs. ”W” found data during pregnancy classified as very high-risk pregnancy with a Poedji Rochjati score of 14 (anemia, height < 145 cm, and a history of childbirth with infusion). Problems during pregnancy are the lack of adequate nutrition and optimal rest as well as the discomfort of swollen legs and back pain. During labour, the diagnosis of premature rupture of membranes was obtained. In the puerperium, the problem of suture wound pain was found. During the newborn period, jaundice was diagnosed. During family planning, the mother chose 3 months of injectable contraception. Management was given according to the diagnosis and problems found from the time of pregnancy to family planning. Complete midwifery care can increase the effectiveness of health care for the mother as a whole so that it does not endanger the mother and baby and increase patient satisfaction in getting midwifery services.

Abstract

Elderly is an age that has a greater likelihood of experiencing autoimmune, this is based on the statement that the older you get or the older you are, the more likely you are to experience autoimmune. Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune and immune system disease that causes chronic inflammation of the joints. This research purposed to describe the knowledge of the elderly about Rheumatoid arthritis in the Barusjahe Health Center Work Area, Karo Regency in 2021. This research uses descriptive research with the sampling technique in this study using purposive sampling. The number of respondents are 72 people. The research instrument is a questionnaire on the level of knowledge about Rheumatoid Arthritis with 25 questions. The results of this study are most of the knowledge level of the elderly about Rheumatoid Arhritis obtained in the category of sufficient knowledge level of 47.2%, 27.8% less, and 25% good. The conclusion is that the level of knowledge of the elderly about Rheumatoid Arthritis at the Barusjahe Health Center in 2021 is mostly good enough, it is hoped that health cadres can provide further information about rheumatoid arthritis so that they can increase the knowledge of the elderly to be good and improve the health status of the elderly

Abstract

Emergency situation is a sudden incident which require an immediately action. It can be caused by epidemic situation, natural disaster, technology disaster, conflict, or human error. Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is one of health problem in the world which is caused by the emergency situation. Survival rate of the victims depends on how well trained the medical personnel about basic life support (BLS) while treating OHCA patients. BLS must be given to patient with respiratory failure or cardiac arrest (code blue patients). BLS competency is not exclusive for medical personnel only, but it can be taught to everyone. The purpose of this study was analyzed the necessity of BLS competency improvement on the OHCA patients for the employees of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Service in Middle Halmahera Regency. This study was a quantitative research with cross sectional study method. The samples were 30 active employees of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Service in Middle Halmahera Regency. The result showed 43,3% employees had poor BLS competency, only 23,3% employees had a good BLS competency. Chi Square analysis result showed there was a significant correlation (p=0,000) between the necessity of BLS improvement training and BLS competency on the OHCA patients. BLS competency is a basic knowledge for public service employee especially in Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Service. The employees in Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Service in Middle Halmehara Regency had a poor BLS competency, so BLS improvement training is needed.

Abstract

The spread of COVID-19 is still continuing very fast. The COVID-19 outbreak is a global problem that has an impact on various life settings and is a challenge for nurses in providing professional nursing care with the risk of contracting and even becoming a victim of COVID-19. The study aims to explore in depth the caring experiences of nurses in providing nursing services to COVID-19 patients in hospital. The research design is used descriptive phenomenology. Participants were 12 nurse, who were selected by purposive sampling technique. The Data be in the form of in-depth interviews and field notes. Furthermore, it is analyzed verbatim and using Colaizzi's approach. The results of the study found six themes, which is nurse anxiety, support system, professional responsibility, workload, refusal of information by patient and patient's family, risk of infection. The themes that emerge from the results of the study can serve as a reference for health workers, especially in the managerial field in taking policies regarding health services, especially nursing services by COVID-19 nurses in order to produce good and safe nursing services for both patients and nurses as nursing service providers.

Abstract

In 2018 in Gorontalo Province there were three health centers with the lowest breastfeeding coverage, Sipatana Public Health Center (33.9%), Kota Utara (23.8%), and Kota Selatan (16.6%). The results showed that the antioxidant content in the form of alkaloids and sterols can increase the production of breastmilk. This substance is contained in the combination tea of ​​Corn Hair and Moringa leaves (Rajuke). This study aimed to analyze the different effect of corn hair tea and Rajuke tea on breastmilk production in postpartum mothers.This research was pre-experimental with a control group pretest-posttest design which was carried out from August to November 2020 with number of sample were 60 postpartum motehrs. Respondents were divided into 2 groups, each group was given tea for 7 consecutive days and a breast pump. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis using paired t-test. The results showed that Rajuke tea was more able to increase breastmilk production comparing to Corn Hair tea (0.86). The midwives are expected to provide promotion and education about foodstuffs that can increase breastmilk production by utilizing local ingredients.

Abstract

Psychologically, mothers experience anxiety during pregnancy because they are worried that the baby will be born healthy or not, especially during Covid-19 pandemic. Pregnant women who are not prepared enough for giving birth will be more anxious and show fear and behave in silence or crying, if this continues until labor can cause pathological condition (Wa Ode et al, 2013). This study aimed to identify the effect of anxiety in pregnancy before and after being given lemon aromatherapy and health education. This research was a quasi-experimental using one-group pre-test post-test control design with cases of anxious third trimester pregnant women who are given lemon Aromatherapy and cases control of anxious third trimester pregnant women who was given education through books at the same time. The research was carried out in the working area of ​​Kota Barat Public Health Community and Dungingi Public Health Community in Gorontalo City from August to November 2020. The provision of lemon aromatherapy and health education as independent variable, the anxiety level of the third trimester of pregnant women as dependent variable. The research subjects were carried out by selecting samples that met the inclusion criteria, totaling 60 pregnant women in the third trimester and divided into the intervention group and the control group. Data analysis using Paired T-test with free sample test and difference test. The results of the study of the two groups, the mean value of the intervention group had a higher difference in anxiety level score reduction (9.6) than the control group (4.0) with significance value of 0.000 and 0.038, respectively (α = 0.05). The conclusion was, there is an effect of lemon aromatherapy and health education on the anxiety level of pregnant women in the third trimester of the Covid 19 pandemic at the Dungingi Health Center and the West City Health Center, Gorontalo City.

Abstract

The problem of growth disorders for children under five in Indonesia has started to emerge from an early age between the ages of 1- 6 months so that efforts are needed to reduce the speed of growth disorders and to increase the percentage of weight gain. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of infant massage and breast care on the frequency and breastfeeding duration at Puskesmas Siak Hulu II. The type of research is quantitative with a pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest. The research was conducted in December 2019 to August 2020. The population was infants aged 0-6 months and 12 babies obtained by using purposive sampling. The research instrument was an observation sheet. Data collection using primary and secondary data, with data analysis using univariate and bivariate. The univariate results showed that the frequency and breastfeeding duration of for infants before massage was mostly adequate (83.4%), with an average frequency and breastfeeding duration of before massage was 9.58 and after massage and breast care was sufficient as much as 100%, the average frequency and the breastfeeding duration of in infants after massage was 12,17. The results of the Paired T test statistical test showed a p-value of 0.002 (α = 0.05). It is hoped that the Siak Hulu II Puskesmas can increase public knowledge and services, especially baby massage and breast care to increase the frequency and breastfeeding duration for babies.
