Abstract

Acute appendicitis is an inflammation of the appendix, the part of the small intestine located in the lower right side of the abdomen. This is a severe medical condition that usually requires surgery emergency. The main symptoms of acute appendicitis include abdominal pain radiating to the lower right side, fever, and nausea. This study aims to determine the role of sodium and leukocytes as predictors of perforated appendicitis in children at Bhayangkara Tk. I Pusdokkes Police Hospital. This concept is expected to help the readers understand how sodium level and leukocyte count can predict the likelihood of children's perforated appendicitis. This study is important for improving the diagnosis and treatment of children with perforated appendicitis. The study's results through a total sample of 52 participants showed significant differences in sodium and leukocyte levels in patients with a diagnosis of perforated appendicitis and appendicitis without perforation. This was proven by the results of testing using the Mann-Whitney differential test, which obtained a significance value for Na levels of 0.049 and leukocyte levels of 0.000. These values were smaller than the p-value of 0.05. The accuracy of the diagnosis of leukocyte levels is shown through two AUC values (Area Under the Curve) of 0.747 or 74.7%. This value is greater than 70% and indicates very good accuracy. Meanwhile, the AUC value for sodium levels is only 0.229 or 22.9%, so it is considered less accurate. The Cut Off value for Na levels was 132.50 mEq/liter, while leukocytes were 13.715/microliter of blood.

Abstract

Epidemiological evidence has suggested that individuals with chronic disease may have a 10-fold risk of developing severe COVID-19 disease compared to individuals without comorbidities. The analysis that estimates the cost of treating COVID-19 patients is still very limited, especially in Indonesia. Thus, in this study, disease costs will be carried out to analyze the costs of clinical management of COVID-19 in patients with comorbidities during hospitalization. This study is a descriptive study using the economy evaluation method, in which the burden of the economy of the COVID-19 disease is included in the direct costs. Sampling was carried out with a purposive sampling method in inpatient COVID-19 patients who had comorbidities at a hospital in West Java during the second wave of COVID-19 in Indonesia (June, July, and August 2021). Ninety-six patients were diagnosed with COVID-19 with comorbid CAP and comorbid Type 2 DM, whose cost data were evaluated with the cost of illness. The total cost of COVID-19 patients with comorbid CAP is Rp. 1,773,944,688 with an average cost of Rp. 25,342,067 ± 10,550,734, and comorbid type 2 diabetes is Rp. 782,391,792 with an average cost of Rp. 30,091,992 ± 14,773,533. The average length of stay for COVID-19 patients with comorbid CAP was 10.1 ± 3.6 days, and comorbid type 2 DM was 11.3 ± 4.5 days. These results indicate that COVID-19 with comorbidities provides a considerable burden on patients, increases the length of treatment for patients, and is quite expensive.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) which we call diabetes is a series of symptoms, both absolute and relative, caused by an increase in blood sugar (glucose) levels due to insulin deficiency. DM is a chronic degenerative disease whose number continues to increase from year to year. If this is allowed to continue without therapy can cause complications, to prevent this, one of the pillars of diabetes management is physical exercise or exercise, namely diabetic foot exercise. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of diabetic foot exercises on the effectiveness of blood sugar levels of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in the work area of the Tamalanrea Jaya health center, Makassar City. The research design used is pre-experimental with one group pretest post test design. The sampling technique was carried out with a total of 32 samples. The results of the study using the t-test paired samples test obtained a p value = 0.000 < α = 0.05. The conclusion of the research results shows the influence of diabetic foot exercises on the effectiveness of sugar levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in the work area of the Tamalanrea Jaya health center, Makassar City. This is in accordance with research conducted by Nuraeni & Arjita in 2019, showing that diabetic foot exercises are very easy to do (can be indoors or outdoors) and do not require a long time (only about 15-30 minutes) and do not require complicated equipment (chairs and a piece of old newspaper). At least foot gymnastics movements are done 3 times a week, but it would be better if they were done every day. Doing regular foot exercises can help a diabetes mellitus patient regulate his blood glucose levels within a normal and stable range.

Abstract

The majority of women who experienced stillbirth felt a decrease in fetal movement before diagnosis. The most frequently reported change was a decrease in perceived fetal movement. Indeed, reduced fetal movement has long been associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes such as impaired fetal growth and stillbirth. The role of the mother is very important in assessing the movement of the fetus. Factors that influence the mother in calculating her fetal movement are the mother's perception, mother's knowledge and the forgetting factor. Descriptif Design, purposive sample, 30 Samples, analyze distribution frequency. Result more than half of the respondents strongly agree with each of the statements above. Pregnant women have a good perception of fetal movement. Every pregnant woman must count fetal movements and when they find that their fetal movements are lacking, immediately go to the hospital. This research is limited to the mother's perception of fetal movement. Future researchers to study about what factors influence pregnant women in calculating their fetal movements.

Abstract

Population growth in Indonesia in the last 10 years has increased quite rapidly by 1.25 percent per year. In Indonesia, the majority of new family planning participants are dominated by family planning participants who use Non-Long-Term Contraceptive Methods amounting to 79.48% of all new family planning participants, while those using Long-Term Contraception Methods are only 20.51%. In this study there are only 2.8% of Non-Long-Term Contraceptive Methods users compared to 97.2% of Long-Term Contraception Methods users. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between knowledge, education, husband's support, parity, occupation, age and sources of information in the selection of contraceptive methods. The study was conducted on June 20 – July 20, 2022. The design of this study was descriptive correlational with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample was taken from 66 respondents from family planning acceptors using quota sampling technique. Univariate and bivariate analysis were performed with chi-squarepp statistical test. The results of the analysis showed that there was a relationship between the choice of contraceptive method, namely education (p=0.03), parity (p=0023), husband's support (p=0.031), occupation (p=0.046), age (p=0.015), sources of information (p = 0.022), which is not related is knowledge (p value = 0.068). It is recommended that midwives can provide better information, improve contraceptive services, especially long-term contraceptive methods.

Media Leaflets are an idea that goes straight to the point and describes how to take action in a short and concise manner. Leaflets are very effective in conveying short and concise messages. like posters, they are also easy to carry and distribute. Even because of the compact size, the amount carried can be more than the poster This kind of study is called a quasi-experimental (quasi-experiment), in which experimental activities are carried out with the goal of identifying a symptom that develops as a consequence of a certain treatment or experiment. A group pre-test and post-test design strategy was used in this study. All participants in this study were toddlers at Harapan Bangsa PAUD, North Labuhanbatu Regency in 2022. totaling 20 PAUD toddlers. The number of samples used was 20 PAUD toddlers obtained by using non-probablity sampling technique, namely by purposive sampling (one of the non-random sampling techniques).
