Abstract

Despite the increasing importance of strategic marketing practices in attaining long-term performance, many pharmaceutical industries in Nigeria struggle to embrace and effectively implement these practices in alignment with ever-changing market conditions. Therefore, the study seeks to examine the effect of product distributions strategies on the performance of pharmaceuticals in South-West Nigeria. The number of staff in some selected pharmaceutical companies was given as 3,831. Therefore, 370 respondents were taken as an adequate sample size for the study. A convenience sampling method was used. The study was driven by primary data. The data were analyzed using regression analysis as an analytical tool. The finding reveals an R2 of 0.747, which indicates a significant effect. Consequently, the study established that distribution strategies (exclusive distribution, extensive distribution, and selective distribution) influence the performance of selected Pharmaceuticals in the southwest region of Nigeria. The study concluded that pharmaceutical performance in the South-West depends on distribution strategies, exclusive distribution, extensive distribution, and selective distribution). The study therefore recommends that pharmaceutical companies in Nigeria that seek improved sales growth should adopt exclusive distribution, extensive distribution, and selective distribution to move their products to potential consumers.

Abstract

Organizations are increasingly challenged with promoting employee commitment and sustainable effectiveness due to poor communication, low interpersonal trust, and deficient employee self-awareness. These issues are usually exacerbated with a rigid organizational culture that stifles openness and constructive feedback. This conceptual paper discusses the Johari Window model as a strategic instrument for solving these organizational challenges. The study, based on a broad spectrum of recent research, discusses how self-awareness, feedback mechanisms, and interpersonal dynamics, fundamental pillars of the Johari Window, would affect human resources management. The research based on the review indicates that the Johari Window ensures employee commitment by enhancing self-awareness and formal feedback, which deepens affective and normative organizational bonds. The model also ensures organizational effectiveness by enhancing interpersonal trust and improving communication, collaboration, and team cohesion. It also has practical applications for HR practices, for example, onboarding, leadership development, and performance management. The research concluded that implementing the Johari Window within organizational culture greatly improves employee engagement and organizational performance. It thus recommends that organizations embed feedback culture, embed the model in leadership development, and create psychological safety for long-term success.

Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive business plan for Andika Tech, a specialized body and wheel press workshop. The plan is based on market analysis, customer needs, operational strategies, and financial feasibility to assess the potential sustainability and profitability of the business. Key market opportunities arise from the increasing number of motor vehicles, high accident rates, and the limited availability of specialized workshops. Andika Tech differentiates itself by utilizing precision press technology without heating or hammering, supported by trained owners as technicians, comfortable facilities, and pick-up and delivery services. Marketing strategies leveraging social media aim to enhance customer awareness and expand market reach. Financial analysis indicates positive outcomes across pessimistic, moderate, and optimistic scenarios, with Net Present Value (NPV) ranging from IDR 191,619,000 to IDR 646,578,000, Internal Rate of Return (IRR) from 5% to 13% per month, and Payback Period (PP) from 8 to 15 months. The business is not only financially viable but also contributes socially by creating job opportunities, improving local technician skills, and promoting efficient and affordable vehicle repair services.

Abstract

The growing trend of thematic food and beverage establishments highlights a shift toward experience-driven consumption; however, limited attention has been given to how service employees contribute to the creation of cultural value within such settings. This study aims to examine the role of service employees in enhancing cultural capital within a thematic dessert bar context, using Zoé Dessert Bar in North Jakarta as a case study. A descriptive exploratory approach was employed using survey data collected from 352 respondents through purposive sampling. The findings indicate that customer preferences are strongly influenced by experiential elements such as ambiance, uniqueness, and narrative-based service. More importantly, service employees play a central role as cultural intermediaries who translate thematic concepts into meaningful interactions, facilitating customers’ engagement with symbolic and cultural value. This study contributes to the literature by demonstrating that cultural capital is not only an outcome of consumption but is actively co-created through employee–customer interactions. The findings also highlight the importance of human resource strategies that emphasize storytelling ability, cultural literacy, and interpersonal skills in delivering thematic service experiences.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of sustainability reporting, covering economic, environmental, and social disclosure, on corporate profitability, proxied by return on equity (ROE), for companies in the metals and minerals sub-sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2020 to 2024 period. Employing a quantitative explanatory approach, the study applies purposive sampling and 30 firm-year observations. Panel data regression analysis is used to test the proposed relationships. The findings show that, individually, economic and environmental disclosure do not significantly influence ROE, whereas social disclosure has a positive and significant impact. However, simultaneously, the three dimensions of sustainability reporting collectively exert a positive and significant influence on profitability. These results suggest that social responsibility initiatives play a more prominent role in enhancing firm profitability. At the same time, integrated sustainability reporting contributes to overall financial performance in the metals and minerals sub-sector.

Abstract

The rapid development of financial technology (FinTech) has increased the importance of financial performance for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in developing regions. This study examines the effect of financial technology adoption, financial literacy, and working capital on the financial performance of MSMEs in Sumenep Regency. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through questionnaires from 74 MSME owners and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that financial technology adoption and working capital have a positive and significant effect on financial performance, while financial literacy shows no significant influence. However, the three variables jointly have a significant impact on MSME financial performance. These findings highlight the importance of digital financial adoption and effective working capital management, while emphasizing the need for practical support to enhance the effectiveness of financial literacy initiatives.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to look at how the Internal Control System (ICS) affects employee performance in Indonesian banks. It will focus on the five ICS components that make up the COSO framework. The results show that good ICS implementation has a beneficial effect on staff performance. The five ICS components that particularly govern the environment, risk assessment, control activities, information and communication, and monitoring activities are very important for making the banking sector perform better, increasing efficiency, and reducing mistakes in operations. These results are in line with agency theory, which holds that ICS helps align the interests of management and employees while reducing the risk of moral hazard that could harm performance. Nonetheless, although favorable outcomes were noted, issues related to human factors and adaptation to digital systems indicate that the adoption of ICS in Indonesia’s banking industry warrants additional scrutiny. This study is constrained by its sample, which consists solely of banking personnel in DKI Jakarta, and by its quantitative methodology, which relies on survey data. It is suggested that future studies use a larger sample and a qualitative method and examine the effects of ICS in the context of digital banking, which is becoming increasingly important in today’s tech-savvy world.

Abstract

The current economic conditions caused by unfavourable and uncertain government policies have made it difficult for most organisations to influence employees’ behaviour positively.  This development has made it extremely hard for them to survive over time. The study, therefore, examined the influence of non-monetary incentives on organisational citizenship behaviour using the staff of selected hotels within Osogbo as the unit of analysis. The specific objectives were to investigate the influence of employee job recognition on sportsmanship behaviour and to determine the influence of conducive work environment on courtesy behaviour. The study was survey research that employed descriptive design. The study population was one hundred and fifty-five (155), which comprised the employees of the selected hotels (Leisure Spring Hotel, Ideal Nest Hotel, and Royal Continental Hotel). Data was collected from primary source and with the aid of structured questionnaire. Hypotheses were tested using linear regression and with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS Version 23.0). Findings revealed that employee job recognition positively influenced sportsmanship behaviour. Conducive work environment positively influenced courtesy behaviour. The study concluded that there was a positive relationship between non-monetary incentives and organisational citizenship behaviour in selected hotels within Osogbo. The study recommends that appropriate incentives should be apportioned to the employees, which will spur them to go beyond their job roles pertinent for survival and growth.
