Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect bokashi fertilizer on the growth and yield of pepper plants, soil physical and chemical properties as well as the optimum dose of fertilizer bokashi. The design used in this experiment is a randomized block design (RAK) to the single factor pattern consisting of five treatments, namely: B0: 0 tonnes ha-1, B1: 5 tonnes ha-1, B2: 10 ton ha-1, B3: 15 ton ha-1 and B4: 20 tonnes ha-1. The variables were observed in this study is was a high plant (cm), a number of leaves tan-1 (strands), leaf area (cm2), fresh weight of fruit tan-1 (g tan-1) and ha-1 (ton ha-1 ), the soil volume weight (bulk density) (g cm-3), total soil pore space (%), total soil N, P-available land, available K-land, C-organic soil and soil pH. The results showed a significant influence on the variable crop growth and yield of pepper plants. Bokashi fertilizer application also provides improved physical and chemical properties of soil. Bokashi fertilizer use 20 tonnes ha-1 is the optimum dose that increases the weight of fresh chilli ha-1 as much as 26.63 tons.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of pesticide plant leaves to the growth of warehouse pest (Callosobrunchus sp)and plant extracts that causes the highest mortality of warehouse pests (CallosobrunchusSp). The design used in this study was a Complete Randomized Block Design (CRBD) with the treatments used are PN0 (aquades), PN1 (Leeksextract), PN2 (extracts of Tagetes), PN3 (leaves Lemongrass Extract). Variable observations in this study are the toxins, contact poisons, nerve poison, repellent and antioviposit. The results showed that the extract of leaves of Tagetes, Lemongrass and Scallion effect on the growth of pest warehouse (Callosobrunchus sp) on observations of Toxins, contact poisons, a nerve poison, repellent and antioviposit. Leaves Tagetes extract is the right plant and effective towards mortality of warehouse pest (Callosobruschus Sp) at 80.89% of poisons contact, the nerve at 84,02%, and 85,05% of repellent activity, antioviposit at 97,6%.

Abstract

This research aims to find the effect of planting distance on the growth and yield of corn plants which were planted with peanut as intercropping plant, and the impact on the yield of peanuts planted as an intercropping plant as well as to know planting distance for corn and peanut. The experimental design used was randomized Block Design with six treatments namely J1; 55 cm x 40 cm, J2; 60 cm x 40 cm, J3; 65 cm x 40 cm, J4; 70 cm x 40 cm, J5; 75 cm x 40 cm, and J6; 80 cm x 40 cm, while peanuts are planted in the central part of the line, and the corns rows are repeated four times so that there are 24 compartments of research. Results of the study indicated that there is a significant effect on the growth and yield of corn at a distance of 75 cm x 40 cm as well as peanuts planted as an intercropping plant with high corn sidelines range from 32,08 – 132,55 cm, a number of leaves revolve around 4.17 – 9.25 strands, leaf area range from 25,84 – 52.80 cm, corncob diameter of 10.09 cm, corncob weight tan-1 171,33 gram ha-1 5,68 ton, dry weight grain of corn tan-1 80,13 grand ha-1 3,80 ton, as well as the weight of 100 grain of corn is 32,17 gram, whereas number of pods of peanut is 26,63 prolong, pods weight tan-1 88,13 grand ha-1 3,17 ton, dry weight of corn tan-1 31,25 grand ha-1 1,31 ton, and weight of 100 corn grains are 19,22 gram.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim to find out the effect of the addition of potassium nitrate in lettuce as a medium and critical level of concentration(electrical conductivity)of nutrient solution. Research is organized in the form of a pot experiment. The experimental design used was Complete RandomizedBlock Design (CRBD)) with three replications. The treatment consists of 12 levels of concentrations or nutrient solution electrical conductivity with the addition of potassium nitrate to lettuce plant. The treatment level of concentrations (conductivity) of nutrient is as follows; L0 = 0.00; L1 = 1.25; L2 = 2.50; L3 = 3.75; L4 = 5.00; L5 = 6.25; L6 = 7.50; L7 = 8.75; L8 = 10.00; L9 = 11.25; L10 = 12.50 and L1 = 13, 75 g 100 L-1 water. Value concentrations of electrical conductivity each nutrient solution concentrations are: L0 = 0.06; L1 = 0.26; L2 = 0.46; L3 = 0.66; L4 = 0.86; L5 = 1.06; L6 = 1.26; L7 = 1,46; L8 = 1.66; L9 = 1,86; L10 = 2.06 and L1 = 2.26. dS m-1. The result of the experiment showed that addition of KNO3 highly significant effect on the increase in fresh weight and dry weight of shoot per plant. Fresh weight and oven-dry weight of shoot per plant was significantly increased in a quadratic with increasing concentrations of KNO3are optimum for growth of plant shoot weight were at 12.23 g in 100/of water on electrical conductivity equivalent to 2.01 dS.m-1. The addition of concentration of KNO3to nutrient solution does not affect on N and other nutrient solution on shoot tissue of lettuce plant but the concentrations of P and K in plant shoot tissue were significantly increased linearly with the provision of KNO3.

Abstract

Soils are the main media for the growth of crops, the low yield of crops is always related to soil physical, chemical and biological soil conditions. Cattle manure is an organic fertilizer known well before chemical fertilizer. Many types of research on the use of cattle manure to ameliorate physical, chemical and biological soil properties have been conducted, but the optimum rates of cattle manure especially on sandy soil have never been found. This fact may be caused by leaching of organic materials and nutrients to deeper soil layer unreachable by roots. An experiment was conducted in a plastic house using sandy soils from the district of Kubu, Karangasem regency, with the objectives of studying the effects of rates of cattle manure on physical, chemical and biological properties f soils and the effects of inundated and water field capacity of soils on leaching of nutrients in the soils. The experiment was conducted from June until August 2010. The design used was a split-plot design consisted of four rates of cattle manure (0, 10, 20 and 30 t ha-1) as main plots and two water status of soils (inundated and water capacity) as subplots, with three replications. The results of the experiment indicated that cattle manure is able to ameliorate some of the soil physical properties as bulk densities (g cm-3), soil water status (%), soil permeability (cm hour-1) and total soil pores (%), and increased soil pH, C-organic content (%), C/N ratio, NPK and biological properties of soils of low nutrients status of sandy loam brown regosol soils derived from Vulcan intermediary. The results of the experiment also indicated the occurrence of leaching of organic materials and NPK nutrients to 20-40 cm layer. Based on the experiment results it is to suggest to the farmers that the use of cattle manure should be combined with synthetic chemical fertilizer in several applications during growth periods, but this required further researches.
