Abstract

The fundamental concept offered by feminism to analyze society is gender. The concept of gender is an inherent trait of men and women formed by social and cultural factors, so there are some assumptions about the social and cultural roles of men and women. For example; the woman is known as a weak, beautiful, emotional and motherly creature. While the man is known as a strong, rational, male and powerful creature. But these traits are not permanent, because they can change over time. This study reinforces the view that gender is a social-forming being that can change with the times, while sex is the nature of God whose role remains (unchangeable). Therefore, the identity of women's behavior, there is always kaitanya with conflict that occurs, along with ethnicity ego, discrimination, and the issue of majority and minority relations. Gender is not the nature or the provision of God, therefore gender is concerned with the process of how men and women should act and act according to the structured values of society. Gender is a distinction between roles, functions and responsibilities between women and men.

Abstract

This paper describes the reality of gender equality that occurs in madrasah education institutions. Madrasahs as educational institutions with Islamic heritage have not been able to escape from the pattern of relationships that create gender bias in education systems and planning. Gender terminology is always the basis of consideration to determine the position and role of management and the level of participation in education. It is constructed by at least two main points, namely religious ideology which is the foundation of the ideology of understanding, attitude and behavior about gender equality. Furthermore, religious ideology undergoes a process of assimilation at the cultural level so as to form an elementary view that men have social advantages compared with women.

Abstract

This article describes briefly about the political movements of Islamic civil society organizations as well as influencing the position of women in their political movements. Since Indonesia has not been independent, the emergence of community organizations (mass organizations) Islam gives the color of socio-political life, including law. It is not surprising that a number of regional heads include Islamic law in local regulations. With full support, religious figures, MUI, Islamic mass organizations and legislatures of a number of sharia laws are passed. Euforia PERDA syariah gained the right momentum since Law no. 31 of 2004 on Regional Government; and Law No. 33 of 2004 on Fiscal Balance between the Central Government and Local Government is enacted. However, there are articles in Islamic law that are gender biased. There is a negative stigmatization of women. It is as if women are triggering immorality and evil. In a legal state, stigmatization is against human rights. Where the rights of justice and equality before the law are enforced in state regulations, including sharia law.

Abstract

This paper would like to publish the results of Partisipation Action Research-based service about Pandulung Women's Fishermen Community in Ujung Lero is a picture of people's lives that are marginal, marginalized, poor, helpless and unempowered. Their everyday life is colored by just wrestling with fish on the coast of Ujung Lero. The community of fishermen women makes the work of Pandulung as the main focus of family life. This community is interesting to be empowered and researched, because it has good potential, interests, and opportunities for the future. However, the great interest and opportunity to change from the economic downturn has not been matched by adequate knowledge and understanding. Therefore, as a recommendation, the involvement of various stakeholders in depth is needed to raise the problem of economic downturn towards better economic independence.

Abstract

This paper discusses the concept of gender in Islam. By using the normative approach through text analysis of Qur'anic and Hadith theology, gender in Islam highly upholds the value of justice regardless of gender. In the Qur'an are found several verses that become supporters and amplifiers that imply a difference, and each has a privilege. However, no verse has been found that describes such distinctions and differences. Thus, Islam has never taught the existence of differences between men and women because it really distinguishes only the level of piety of the Creator.

Abstract

Islamic religion look into that God not create human being by differing. Islam explain that basically there not superioritas in meaning of kualitataif men to woman. As religion bringing equivalence mission, Islam affirm that most human being of glory is most them of taqwa to God. In the sosiological view, society assumed as social institute which reside in in balance is activity of human being pursuant to embraced norms with was and also held true and fasten role and also itself human being.That way also, in the sosiological view, society assumed as social institute which reside in in balance is activity of human being pursuant to embraced norms with was and also held true and fasten role and also itself human being In the eyes of sociology in action hardness of woman send to problem domicile and woman function. Besides leading into problem of movement, conception equivalence supported by feminism movement wish the existence of change especially in looking at role of woman, either in educational, economic, politics, law even religion.

Abstract

This paper examines the various issues of sexuality in Islamic discourse. The discussion in this study attempts to examine the discourse of female sexuality at the beginning of Prophet's prophethood and then evolves over the development of the age to give birth to various inequalities and injustices against women in the sexual realm. There are at least three issues concerning sexual injustice in women; first, the Islamic tradition in the post-Prophetical Jurisprudence which places women as 'male sexual needs ministers' and 'sexual generations'. Second, the tendency of female body consumerism in modern industrial civilization. Third, local traditions in certain cultures still attach stereotypes to women as 'passengers' of male social glory.

Abstract

This paper seeks to expose feminist existence in the tradition of Bugis Makassar marriage by revisiting the position of Siri 'culture as the emancipation of human values, especially with regard to feminist and masculine essence in marriage. The marriage system shows the unclear direction or unrelatedness between the Siri 'values tradition and the concrete reality of feminist existence. The marriage system of Bugis Makassar is characterized by a shift in tradition which then raises the value of materialism into Siri 'culture. The problem becomes more complicated when faced with “uang panaik” tradition that so neutralize myths as a measure of establishment and masculine responsibility, so that the masculine reaction to the tradition of marriage Bugis Makassar feels necessary. Because this is what will create the feminist dilemma in the tradition of marriage.

Abstract

This paper attempts to highlight the existence of Law No. 1 of 1974 on Marriage which is gender biased. The position of the husband as the head of the household (leader) has the responsibility of living for his family, so that their duty is in the public sphere while the wife is a housewife serving in the domestic sphere, taking care of the child and husband, which is considered to imprison women's space into the public space. The position of women in Islamic marriage law can be seen on several sides, ie women in the Qur'an and Hadith, in history and in the book of fiqh.

Abstract

This paper discusses Indonesian women since time immemorial has been active in various economic activities to support the household economy. In the current information age the gait of Indonesian women in careers is getting more advanced and has occupied various business sectors. Besides it also appears as a comrade is a general perception that tends to degrade women's dignity, such as violence, and deviations from the normative culture of the Indonesian nation. Therefore, to maximize the potential of women in social aspects, it is necessary to create a new social order for women through empowering women resources that are crippled in the formation of three attitudes: attitude and behavior towards God's, attitudes and behavior towards self, and attitudes and behavior toward values -Community values.
