Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic disaster in Indonesia has caused the economy to be the most affected sector. In order to provide solutions for the government in improving the economy through small and medium enterprises, an investigation on business and entrepreneurship solutions is required to support the economy. This study aims to analyze the determinants of entrepreneurial success when a disaster occurs, such as natural disasters, war, and the Covid-19 pandemic as it is today. Business experience, entrepreneurship education, innovation in business, and strategies to produce successful entrepreneurs, are variables that will be tested. The respondents are people who have had experience selling products online. Two hundred seventeen (217) respondents have participated in a questionnaire survey which was created and distributed online through social media. Data validity and data reliability were tested using the Windows SPPS 25.0 application, followed by analyzing data with Structural Equation Model (SEM) using the Windows Amos 23.0 application. The quantitative research results show that strategy affects entrepreneurial success; however, business experience, entrepreneurship education, and business innovation have not related to entrepreneurial success. The research analysis influences the importance of the strategies identified in dealing with a business to be successful. The contribution resulting from this research is how the small and medium enterprises should respond to their efforts in becoming successful entrepreneurs using good business strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the distribution pattern of training alumni and their achievements held by BMKG Training Center during the 2015-2019 period in Indonesia as input to increase competency development strategies related to employee obligations in obtaining competency development of 20 lesson hours/person / year. The theoretical approach used is to map the training alumni based on the position in which they are on duty when participating in the training based on their administrative area. The method used in this research is a quantitative method with a descriptive statistical analysis approach and spatial analysis. The data processed is training alumni of technical, functional, leadership, and CPNS basic training. Training alumni data are processed and analyzed spatially based on Geographic Information Systems using the Quantum GIS application and Map visualization using ArcGIS application. The results of this study indicate that the spatial pattern of alumni distribution is not evenly distributed. The participation rate of training alumni is still around 21% and has not been able to reach all BMKG employees. Achievement of academic hours per person per year is in the range of 29 lesson hours. The results of the Spatial Analysis shows the BMKG branch office needs to get more opportunities in improving employee competency in 17 provinces spread across Aceh, Riau Islands, Jambi, Banten, West Java, DKI, Central Java, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, Bali, South Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, NTT, Maluku and Papua.

Abstract

This research is based on the reality of the high leadership achievements of the participants of the Supervisory Leadership Training (PKP) of the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) of DKI Jakarta Province in 2020 and the length of change in one's leadership. This study aims to describe the servant leadership behavior of the alumni of Supervisory Leadership Training. This research departs from the perspective that leadership behavior is formed through social processes. The theory used as an analytical tool and to explain the leadership behavior of PKP alumni is the theory of social practice from Pierre Bourdieu. According to this theory, leadership behavior depends on the habitus, capital and arena of leaders. This qualitative research categorized as a case study was conducted on 19 purposively selected PKP alumni informants of the 2nd generation. Data were collected by written interview and analyzed by ideal type approach. Field findings show that the leadership behavior of alumni varies depending on the habitus formed, the capital they have and the arena that surrounds them. In conclusion, the informants have behaviors that are in accordance with the characteristics of servant leadership. Informants have a new leadership habitus and a confirmed habitus of the existing leadership practice. The informants also have a variety of capital in the form of social, cultural, economic and symbolic capital. Finally, there are two kinds of arenas owned by the informants, namely the arena of the Official Responsible for Technical Activities (PPTK) and the arena of the Budget User Authority (KPA). As a recommendation, this research is continued with a phenomenological approach to dig deeper into leadership serving the informants.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected 220 countries and territories in the world. Based on WHO data as of June 25, 2021, as many as 179 million people have been infected and 3.89 million people have died. Lockdown policies, border closures, flight restrictions and social restrictions have been implemented to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The Government of Indonesia applied the Large-Scale Social Restrictions policy in 2020, and has implemented a Public Activity Restriction policy since 2021. Some impacts include the decrease of economic activity, the increase of unemployment, and the growth of poverty rates. To minimize the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the government then applied a social safety net program by providing social aid to the poor and affected communities. This study aims to explain the transformation of social aid in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic when the Large-Scale Social Restriction and Public Activity Restriction were and are implemented. To answer this, a descriptive qualitative analysis method was used. The results of this study indicate that there has been a transformation of social aid in the form of synergies between central government and local governments, regulations adjustments, the increment of aid recipients, the increase of social aid rate, the alteration of aid types from basic food to cash, data update, the changes in aid distribution mechanisms, the collaboration among various stakeholders and the innovation in using information technology systems.
