Abstract

A person who has uncontrolled hypertension has seven times greater risk to have a stroke and three times greater risk to have a heart attack. Electroacupuncture therapy is one of the non-pharmacological therapies that can be used as a solution to control blood pressure values in hypertensive patients. This research was conducted to analyze the effect of electroacupuncture therapy on the values of blood pressure, Mean Arterial Pressure, and Pulse Pressure in hypertensive patients. This research used a Literature Review design with journal searches using Science Direct, PubMed, and Google Schoolar published in 2009-2020. Among the 17944 articles obtained, 15 articles were taken for analysis. Furthermore, the Journal Reviews was done by employing the Duffy 2005 Research Apraisal Critical Format. The results of this study found that 9 journals of electroacupuncture and 6 journals of acupuncture showed positive results in which there was an effect of electroacupuncture therapy on the value of blood pressure, mean artery pressure and pulse pressure in hypertensive patients. The researchers concluded that Electroacupuncture therapy affects the value of blood pressure, mean artery pressure, and pulse pressure in hypertensive patients.

Abstract

In Indonesia, maternal mortality and neonatal mortality are big challenges and need attention in the Covid-19 disaster situation. This study aims to determine the determinants of factors that affect the mortality of Covid-19 patients in pregnant women in Province West Nusa Tenggara. The design of this study was a cross-sectional with purposive sampling technique, namely all pregnant, maternity and, postpartum women diagnosed with Covid-19 with PCR swab (+) who were treated in hospitals throughout the province of NTB during the period March to December 2020. Data collected through the register with a total sample of 163 people. The variables of this study were age, obstetric status, cluster, treatment status and, history of co-morbidities. Data were analyzed using bivariate analysis using Chi-Square and multivariate with Logistic Regression. The results of the study were that most of the mothers were aged 20-23 years (66.3%), obstetric status during the puerperium (58.3%), without cluster (97.5%), cured status (98.2%) and, without comorbidities. (97.5%). Maternal age and obstetric status did not show a significant relationship with their respective scores (p=0.819 and p=0.808), while clusters and comorbidities showed a significant relationship (p=0.000). Clusters and comorbidities are the most dominant in influencing mortality of Covid-19 patients in pregnant women and contributing 86.7%, the rest is influenced by other factors.

Abstract

Maternal death is the worst performing of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Indonesia did not achieve its MDG #5 target in 2015. Therefore, the Indonesian government needs to review its strategies to decrease maternal deaths. One cause of maternal death is a lack of infrastructure, which can delay reaching emergency obstetric care (called Poned). This qualitative study investigated problems with priority planning in the Kupang district in order to improve access to emergency obstetric care (EMOC). A number of observations were conducted in the musrenbang (the district planning process). Interviews were carried out to gain an insight into the planning process from village to district level. A model for travel time to EMOC was created to support this study. In this study, six problems were identified in the district planning (musrenbang) regarding improving access to EMOCs. Those were (1) no planning proposal about improving access to EMOC, (2) budget constraints, (3) decision on the priority planning not being based on the level of urgency, (4) undue political influence, (5) lack of evidence and (6) incorrect measure of accessibility to obstetric care. Hence, to improve access to EMOC, scenario modelling with combined cost-benefit analyses (CBA) as an evidence-based planning should be applied in the musrenbang. It will help the health planners in Eastern Indonesia to gain a deep understanding about the problems in district planning process for access improvement to EMOC. Scenario modelling with CBA could provide the evidence during musrenbang.

The goal of this study was to see if there was a link between nurses' performance in providing nursing care and the quality of nursing services provided at RSIA Qurrata A'yun Samarinda. The study employed descriptive correlation research in conjunction with a cross-sectional survey design. In this study, the sample consisted of inpatients at RSIA Qurrata A'yun Samarinda, with 62 respondents meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The sample was drawn using a complete random sampling approach.Using a questionnaire as a data collection tool The frequency distribution was calculated using univariate analysis, and the hypotheses were evaluated using bivariate analysis using the Somers'd test. The validity testing was conducted for 30 hospitalized patients at RSIA Aisyiyah Samarinda from August 30 to October 7, 2019. The Cronbach alpha value for the nurse performance questionnaire was 0.716 in a reliability test. The Cronbach alpha value for the quality of nursing service was 0.849, and analysis using the Somers'd test resulted in a p-value of 0.001 a 0.05, meaning that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, with a correlation value of 0.349, having the least correlation. As a source of information and tools for guiding nurses' performance in practicing nurses in the context of improving nursing service quality and reaching the highest level of patient satisfaction.

Placuna placenta has a unique character among other types of shells due to its thin and wide shell shape. The protein contained in Placuna placenta is 71% which can be used as skin nutrition. Its application to the skin can be done through collagen serum preparations. The aim of this study was to optimize the Placuna Placenta serum collagen in adolescent skin. The current research was done through an experimental study of a post-test control design in the form of a post-only controlled group design with five treatment groups with each group consisting of five skins of adolescent arms. The negative control group was given a serum base that was applied to the skin of the adolescent arm. The positive control group was given serum product x®. The test group was given Placuna Placenta shell collagen serum with the concentrations of 10%, 15% and 20%. The results showed that collagen serum can irritate the skin. In addition, the optimization of the serum collagen concentration of Placuna Placenta in adolescent skin is at a concentration of 15%. It can be summed up that optimizing the use of collagen serum on adolescent skin is a challenge in the formulation because it is beneficial for adolescent skin nutrition.
