Eccentricity measurement techniques are developed to ensure optimization of operational works, either for large or small objects such as upper bearing kWH meter. Small object eccentricity testing has been done by using precise and sensitive touch trigger probing and a special sofware that makes it expensive. This study developed a more economical vision systemin eccentricity testing. It consists of bearing holder and CCD microscope as an image recorder and computerized image processing. It uses three tested bearing during image recording process, which obtained 12 images from each tested bearing taken from every 30o angle, and one image as registration reference. Image registration process is conducted to correct imperfections bearing mounting into its holder and use centroid method to test the eccentricity of upper bearing kWH meter. This study is succeed in making an eccentricity testing prototype of upper bearing kWH meter which obtained result of 2nd bearing has its largest standard deviation. From all standard deviation value obtained that x -axis (horizontal) standard deviation is larger than y-axis (vertical) which means that detection of x direction is more accurate than y direction. To enhance precision image acquisition in the next study, it is expected the use of a computer system with homogeneous illumination is enabled.

The effectiveness of Rhizobium sp. inoculation in several periodes of soil saturation on growth and yield of soybean were studied at green house experiment. This research was designed by using 2x6 faktorial treatment arranged in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and two treatment i.e. without and with Rhizobium sp. inoculation. Ist factor was duration of soil saturation consisted of six treatments i.e. field capacity, water saturation for 5-10 days after planting (dap), 10-15 dap, 15-20 dap, 20-25 dap, and 25-30 dap. Several parameters including root nodule formation, activity of root nodul, growth and yield of soybean were observed. All data was analyzed by F-test and subjected to Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) analysis at 5 % level when the treatments showing significantly variations. The result showed that Rhizobium sp. inoculation increased the amount of root nodule and activity of root nodule in fixing atmospheric nitrogen.

Most of the farmer groups managing cattle in West Sumatra have not achieved the business goals with little regard for the potential well and local resources that surround them and the lack of attention to environmental impact. The purpose of this study was to describe the performance of the enclosure management, feeding management, livestock waste management with respect to the concept of Green Marketing, and describes prospects for the cattle business in West Sumatra sustainable future. The research was conducted in 2012 in farmer groups Sejahtera Rambatan, Tanah Datar and groups Sejahtera Dua, in West Pasaman. The method used is the qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results of this study were (1) cage is best for beef cattle business is to facilitate the enclosure of communal feeding and cleaning cages. Need a good cage equipped breeding tank waste. (2) Management of by-product feed by utilizing skin cocoa plantations, palm leaf midrib and Solid largely able tosubstitute consentrate feed and forage with greater economic value. (3) By processing waste in the form of cattle faeces, cow urine and feed residue into organic fertilizer for farmers and provide benefits to cover the cost of feedproduction. (4) By applying the concept of Green Marketing in the cattle business is to provide economic benefits and environmental friendly.

Indonesia has abundant resources of lateritic nickel ore and coal. However, this resource has not been considered as a main raw material in the Indonesian steel industry. Therefore, this study are aimed to investigate several aspects of lateritic nickel intrinsic propertiesand its potency through heat treatment process. Nickel laterite steels are usually used for bridge and building construction steel. Their properties can be improved in various ways, such as by conducting temper heat treatment. This research reported the influences of heat treatment on microstructure and mechanical strength in nickel laterite steel. Samples were austenitized at 900ºC and subsquently tempered at 100 ºC, 200 ºC, 300 ºC, 400 ºC, 500 ºC, and 600ºC. Metallographic observation was conducted by using an optical microscope meanwhile mechanical strength were conducted by tensile test and surface hardness. The results showed evolution of mictrostructure in nickel laterite steel after heat treatment. The microstructure formed consisted of martensite temper. The presence of inclusion can affect brittle behavior of the lateritic nickel. The optimum tempering temperature was 200 ºC. The result of Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) fractography showed the dimple and intergranular fracture has caused a more ductile and mechanical behavior which is compatible with construction steels standard.

The aim of this research is to try the effect of teaching method in increasing study result of student in mathematicinterconnected with first ability of student. The research was conducted at MAN 3 east Jakarta at the firstsemester of the academic year 2008-2009 . The sample was selected by simple random sampling technique andthe size was 84. This research used experiment method with factorial design 2 x 2 and the data were analyzed byusing Two-way Anova and T- test at the level of significance α = 0,05. The resulted in four findings i.e.: 1) Resultof study on the students who used inquiry methods was higher than those used conventional method, 2) Therewas interaction influence between teaching methods and first ability about the result study of mathematics, 3) Theresult study of mathematics students that have high first ability who used inquiry method was higher than thoseusing conventional methods, 4) The result study of mathematics students that have low first ability who used inquirymethods was lower than used conventional methods

This research presents the success story of the honey harvesters at Nanga Leboyan Village, Selimbau District, Kapuas Hulu Regency, West Kalimantan Province in improving their traditional economic activity. The aims of the study are to describe changes in techniques and treatments in honey business management and to explain the effects of the changes. Qualitative approach was applied in this study. Data collecting was conducted by applying participant observer and in-depth interview technique. Informants were selected based on snowballing method. The results of this research indicate that the changes in techniques and treatments in honey business management bring about positive impacts for the honey harvesters. The effects are: (1) Increasing of honey quality that cause increasing in the product price. (2) Mortality of honey bees becomes less that lead to increasing amount of honey that can be produced.

Thermite (Coptotermes curvignathus) is the destructive pest at rubber plantation especially rubber planta-tion which is ex of old plantation or forest with inaccurate land clearing. Chitosan known can control thermites by disturbing protozoa’s rules in digestion systems of thermites that causing thermites can not get the food yielded by protozoa. Effectiveness of Chitosan was known by directly testing chitosan to thermites with the pre eliminary test to get the range of effective concentration and way of effective application with 8 treatments in 4 concentration levels ( 0.1, 1, 10, and 100%) which is each concentration combined with two way of application (spraying and baiting) with 4 replications. Based to the result of pre eliminary test, 1% chitosan concentration determined as concentration standard of main test which consists of concentration test (0.1, 0.5, 1, and 2%) with the spraying application with 4 replications with control and termicide as comparitors. The same concentrations and compari-tors were also tested with the baiting application with 4 replications. Then, the test also done by combinating spraying and baiting application with same concentrations (0.1, 0.5, 1, and 2%) and compared with control and termiticides that replicated 3 times. The percentage of thermites mortality was observed every two days until the 4th day after application. The result showed that the combination treatment between concentration and way of application of chitosan showed that the most effective concentration to kill the thermites is 2% baiting application with the mortality percentage of thermites reaches 54.78% at the 4th day after application

Phenotypic performance and yields needed for specific lines selection. Experiment was conducted to determine phenotypic performance and grain yield of nine promising lines of composite maize (Zea mays) as the information needed to released as specific varieties of West Java. A set of field experiment were established in Majalengka and Sumedang district, from April to Juli 2010. Nine maize lines and 3 control varieties i.e. Gumarang, Makmur-1, and Sinta-1 were planted based on a randomized block design. The result showed that AS-1 has better ear performance than control varieties. R2, R3, and AS-1 has a character of high yields potential equivalent to the varieties and opportunity to be released as specific composite maize varieties of West Java.

This research was conducted to see the effect ofsolarflare and Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) on geomagnetic and ionosphere above Tanjungsari, Sumedang, West Java. By using Disturbance storm time (Dst) index data for geomagnetic disturbance parameter and critical frequency (fo) of F2 ionosphere layer data for ionosphere disturbance parameter; a graph was plotted between occurrence off lare and CME with Dst index andf oF2 from year 2000 to 2003. The result found thatf lare and CME affect disturbance on geomagnetic caused a geomagnetic storm and disturbance on ionosphere cause an ionosphere storm. Those storms were depended by flare class, CME type, and its position on the sun when they happened Flare and CME event that happened also required time to reach the Earth.

This paper will describe the results of different studies of language choice between men and women in so phisticated Indonesia poems. This study uses sociolinguistics-genderistics paradigm which states that the gender differences in language choice is not only describing what is commonly accepted as a fact that is reflected in the text, but also what is behind the text. This study uses a qualitative approach method and the results of descriptive data in the form of text or writing literary genre of poetry. The data were obtained by using sampling techniques. This study deals only with the poems of Indonesia in the period 1990–2000’s with a comparison of the poems of Indonesia in the period 1970–1980’s. In this study, the language of poem considered as an aspect which forms and express a direct expression and attitude of speakers with their own nuances that cannot be separated from ideological issues and the application of linguistic variations in language reproductive men and women.
