Abstract

The research aimed to analyze: (1) the level of farmers behaviour on wet land conservations in Kulon Progo Regency; (2) the impact of land carrying capacity and non behavioural causes to farmers behaviour on wet land conservations; (3) the impact of farmers behaviour on wet land conservations of their agribusiness income. The method used in this study was descriptive analysis. The research was done in Kulon Progo Regency. The location chosen by purposive sampling method represented area that have high or low level of land carrying capacity. The respondents were chosen by multistage random sampling method. The analysis methods used in this research are proportion test by Dajan, multiple linear regression analysis, and simple linear regression analysis. The results indicated that more than 50% farmers in Kulon Progo Regency have a high level of conservations behaviour. The level of land carrying capacity did not influence farmers behaviour on wet land conservations. Non behavioural causes influenced the farmers behaviour on wet land conservations significantly were age, conservation knowledge, motivation, activity in group, non agribusiness income, availability of organics input and leadership. The high level of farmer’s behaviour on wet land conservations did not influence their agribusiness income.

Abstract

To investigate the diversity, distribution, and utilization of orchid, a study was conducted in Bodogol forest of Gede Pangrango National Park (TNGP). Around 82 species of 41 genera of orchids were identified in this area which consisted of 58 species of epiphytes orchids and 24 species of terrestrial orchids. The genera of Agrostophyllum, Dendrobium, and Eria were the most commonly found orchid in this area. Distribution of orchid species varied from India to Pacific islands, including Japan. Among recognized six endemic orchid species of Java island, two new records of orchids at GPNP were determined, i.e. Neuwiedia veratifolia and N. zollingeri var. javanica. In general, the orchids in Bodogol forest have not been economic commodities priority yet, but several species were potential to be developed for utilization.

Abstract

Abstract

Bank is an entity that acts as a financial intermediary that puts the public funds entrusted to it, to be dis- tributed back to the community in form of loans, and the business world at large in form of credit. Outstanding funds through banks can be optimized to support the investment, which in turn encourages economic growth, and improves standards of living and equitable development. Therefore, the banking operations should be monitored closely by the stakeholders. The purpose of this study was to analyze the probability of bankruptcy of the banking sector and to analyze the relationship between accounting information in form of financial ratios (APB, ROA, ROA, ROE, LDR, NPL, ATTM, CAR, and NIM) to the probability of default (PD) by using KMV Merton. The object of this study is banks that are consistent listed in LQ 45 period 2009–2012 and issuing bond. The research result showed that the probability of bank failure from KMV Merton models give an indication of low level of bank failures with the highest rating of AAA, so PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk., PT Bank Mandiri Tbk, PT Danamon Indonesia Tbk., and PT BPD of West Java and Banten Tbk. are worth to be invested. The regression analysis of financial ratios can explain 88.44% in PD equation model. Based on the regression analysis performed, the independent variables in the regression have a significant effect on the dependent variable of the banks listed in LQ-45, which is the Operating Expenses to Operating Income (ROA) has a positive influence on PD and Against Capital Fixed Assets (ATTM ) has a negative effect on PD.

Abstract

South Konawe is a regency in Southeast Sulawesi which is dominated by dry land around 42,151 ha. Out of this area, only 2,100 ha was utilized for soybean planting with yield of 1.051 t/ha. One of problems for this low productivity is not optimal use of the technology in terms of usage time of planting. From the analysis of the water balance sheet, it shows that the surplus occurs in January, March, April, May, June, and July. However, soybean can only be planted in May because it meets the water requirement for soybean that is 250–300 mm/month. On the other hand, deficit months occur in February, August–December.

Abstract

In disaster risk management, government plays important role as decision maker on disaster risk reduction policies. The capability of local governments to manage disaster risk starting from the early stages before the disaster occurs until disaster occurs by reconstruction plans. Pacitan government has an important responsibility considering Pacitan coastal is prone to tsunami. Through structured interviews and focus group discussion (FGD) to the authorities agencies, the study found that the government has tried to reduce the risk of a tsunami through the emergency policy, early warning systems, and resource mobilization. Although historically, Pacitan tsunami had never experienced tsunami directly, but the local government has done a good preparation in the face of the tsunami in terms of both physical and non-physical efforts.

Abstract

Sunda strait has a relatively high seismic activity. The high seismic activity was caused by the seismic zoneat that region, including the faults zone. Based on the high seismic activity in the Sunda Strait, it is necessary to doresearch about the strain that occurred in the Sunda Strait region to determine the tectonic activity in that area andits seismic hazard. To observe the tectonic activity in the Sunda Strait, GPS observations were made periodicallywith static differential method at the observation points located in the Sunda Strait region. Based on the strainanalysis, the southwestern part of the Sunda Strait tend to experience compression and the northeastern part tendto experience extention. Sunda Strait had a relatively high seismic hazard with maximum PGA 0,47 g.

Abstract

Saparua Island is one of the islands in the Central Moluccas that has a complete ecosystem, unfortunately records on mollusk research is very limited. The aim of this research is to know the composition, diversity and utilization of mollusk. The objectives of the study are to determine the composition, diversity and utilization of mollusks using square transect and free collection method which conducted on April and September 2016. Water analysis is also done to determine the environmental hydrographic condition. Temperature and salinity indicate the presence of freshwater input through rivers, especially in St-2 2 (Waisisil). Concentrations of nutrients show a fairly high value, ranging from 0.001 to 0.114 mg L-1 for phosphate; 0.012 - 0.023 mg L -1 for nitrate and 0.140 - 0.443 mg L -1 for silicate. There are 641 individual mollusks of 107 species consisting of 85 species of Gastropoda and 22 species of Bivalves. Species found mostly by Littoraria scabra (Littorinidae), Cypraea annulus (Cypreidae), Terebralia sulcata (Potamididae); Clypeomorus battilariaeformis (Cerithiidae); and Nerita chamaeleon (Neritidae). The existing mollusk community has moderate and uniform diversity with low species dominance. There are at least 35 species of mollusks that can be utilized into various commodities such as food products, accessories/decorations and raw materials of drugs.
