Abstract

Palm oil mill processing companies in their operations use Water Tube Boilers which are fueled by shells and fiber. Boiler or Steam Kettle is a container that contains water or other fluids to be heated. Boiler with a capacity of 30 tons. In general, every machine produced by the factory is always equipped with a handbook/instruction book on how to install, maintain and operate it. Likewise with the boilers in the Company there are manuals regarding specifications for operation, maintenance, installation, and others. of various kinds of boiler fuel mixtures for combustion can produce different thermic efficiencies depending on the percentage of the mixture, in this study the results of laboratory tests obtained the calorific value of the fuel mixture of 70% fiber and 30% shells had the highest calorific value, namely 4604.7 Cal /g. The highest boiler efficiency value produced was 53.9% using 100% shell fuel, the efficiency using 100% fiber fuel was 51% and the lowest boiler efficiency value produced was 49.5% using a mixed fuel of 70% fiber and 30 % shell.

Abstract

The distance to an object can be known without having to measure it with a meter. The design of this tool can determine an object with a certain position in the form of an indicator that is displayed automatically. An object is a part of determining indicators that can be used as receiving media for the final boundary reflection. With this tool, you can accurately determine the distance to objects without using conventional measuring instruments. The method used is to design the equipment and then test the tool. This tool works when there is input in the form of a password code via the keypad, and if the code or password is entered correctly, the microcontroller will provide high input to the relay to activate this solenoid which is run with the Arduino IDE software so that the microcontroller can detect keypad input properly, the delay is applied to activate the solenoid, by using the proximity sensor we know the accurate limit is for this tool to be able to read the distance of the object provided that the closest distance to the object is 0.5 meters and the farthest is 2 meters with a response time interval of 0.07 seconds to 2.10 seconds, this equipment controlled by Arduino with a listing program that has been set to read objects at a certain distance, with a reading distance. the program listing uses a sound indicator as an output with a sound indicator at a distance of approximately 2 meters.

Abstract

Programmable logic controller (PLC) can be design for various purposes, one of which is to design a fire extinguishing system, by assembling several components of PLC, solenoid, spingkle, power supply, adaptor,smoke detector, heat detector, pilot lamp, push button,relay, selector switch, Design the program setting to detect smoke and high temperetures that occur in the event of a fire. If the smoke detector detect smoke and high temperatures, the sensor will give a signal to the plc to turn on and activate all working components and extinguish the fire. . In the future, the use of this tool can be installed in lecture rooms in Unbari, especially the Faculty of Engineering room and developed for the use of Human Interface which is directly connected to firefighters.

Abstract

This study aims to plan a solar power plant with an off grid system that will be used for electricity needs in Hamlet Kunangan Jaya 2 RT.28 which is one of the Hamllet in Bungku Village. Bungku Village is included in the 3T area, which is left behind, foremost, and outermost.Hamle Kunangan Jaya 2 RT.28have not enjoyed electricity from PLN due to difficult access and far from urban areas.The research was conducted with a descriptive research method. The selection of this type of method is used on the basis of the consideration that the nature of the research describes a plan carried out to meet the electricity needs of public facilities. Studies field were carried out to determine the electricity needs of public facilities: Mosques, Polides, and Elementary Schools, find out the number of panels needed, measure solar radiation and measure the area of the building. Calculation of electricity requirements is carried out in order to find out how much electricity is needed in public facilities, carry out design plans and calculate a budget plan to describe the planned installation. The results of solar data measurement for Optimal Global Irradiation in Bungku Village are 4,549kWh/m2 per day, the required amount of solar cell power is 6,000WP, three 40A Solar Charger Controllers, 2,800Ah batteries and 8000Watt Inverters. The total load required for mosques, polides, and elementary schools is 25,126Wh. The total RAB for PLTS development using an off-grid system requires a cost of IDR 138,647,000.

Abstract

Programmable logic controller (PLC) can be programmed for various purposes, one of which is to design a fire extinguishing system, by assembling several components of PLC, solenoid, springkle, powersupply ,adapter ,smokedetector, heatdetector, pilotlamp, pushbutton, relay, selector switch. design the program settings to detect smoke and high temperatures that occur in the event of a fire. if the sensor detects smoke and high temperature, the sensor will give a signal to the plc to turn on and activate all working components and extinguish the fire.

Abstract

The learning system in vocational education is more directed to practical learning. Therefore, learning media is needed that can make students learn interactively and independently. The research aims to create an industrial automation system learning media as a learning medium for industrial automation courses. The learning media is in the form of a programmable logic controller (PLC) trainer equipped with sensors and combined with a human machine interface (HMI). PLC trainer is made because PLC devices are widely used in industrial automation systems. The PLC component has not been equipped with a display, therefore in this study PLC is combined with HMI. HMI is an interface that connects machines with humans. The Outsel PLC was chosen because the price is very affordable and developed by domestic developers. Trainers are made in a compact form, and easy to carry anywhere. Several simulations were carried out to test the function of the trainer. The test results of the PLC trainer show that the PLC trainer is able to control the process according to the logic programmed, and the HMI is able to display the ongoing process, thereby increasing the interaction between machines and humans.

Abstract

PLTMH is one of the renewable energy power plants that is environmentally friendly. Indonesia has considerable hydropower potential that can be developed into Micro / Mini Hydro Power Plants of 19,385 MW spread throughout Indonesia [2]. PicoHidro Power Plant is part of PLTMH with an output power of < 1 kW [1]. The advantages of this plant are generating electricity without being too influenced by seasons and day and night changes, power generation fluctuations are relatively small, the possibility of electricity generation is high, the impact on the environment is very small and the fast response is suitable for peak load conditions and when there is a disturbance in the network. PLPicohidro uses a DC generator that utilizes a power source for battery charging. The battery is used as an inverter voltage source to turn on the AC load. For that, a Charger Controller is needed which is useful for charging the battery. The DC voltage source coming from the generator is stored using a battery and then goes to the inverter to be converted into AC voltage. In this study, automatic charging of two batteries was used or can be called automatic charging. The way this circuit works is when the battery is full, the charger will automatically stop. The voltage indication during the charger process is 11 Volts and stops when the voltage reaches 14 volts. The use of two batteries in the charger process can work alternately, if battery 1 is full then battery 2 will charge automatically, and vice versa.

Abstract

The Talang Gulo control landfill waste final processing site (TPA) has been decommissioned and converted into a Sanitary Landfill TPA in the city of Jambi. Even though it has been deactivated, the waste resulting from the decomposition of waste at the TPA control landfill must be managed. One of the wastes that is managed is leachate. Before being released into the environment, leachate must be processed in leachate ponds so that the receiving environment is not polluted. Some of the leachate parameters that must be managed are mercury (Hg) and cadmium (Cd), because if these two parameters enter surface water they will have a negative impact on aquatic biota. The research is planned at the Batanghari University Engineering Laboratory. On a laboratory scale, the Hg and Cd parameters of leachate can be reduced using the electrolysis method. Electrolysis is an alternative method for processing leachate because the chemical reaction process using electrodes can reduce the Hg and Cd parameters. The hypothesis that can be taken is that the electrolysis method can reduce the Hg and Cd parameters of landfill leachate.

Abstract

PT Pangkatan Indonesia is an oil palm plantation company operating in Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra Province, with a plantation area of 7,134.8 ha and has built a palm oil mill with an installed capacity of 40 tons / hour. Liquid waste from the plant has the potential to be an alternative source of raw materials for Biogas Power Plants (PLTBg) which is also a distributed generation (DG). The parameters to be studied in this study are the decrease in power losses and the voltage profile of the electrical power produced. The simulation process produces voltage under normal conditions, which only increases about 0.3% of the nominal voltage (complies with Ministerial Regulation No. 4 of 2009). In addition, the results of interconnection analysis at the 1 MW PLTBG show that the voltage at the ends before and after the connection has increased. Furthermore, the ratio of the total current before and after (load 75% - 95% ) is fixed (no change). The conclusion of the results of this study is, the greater the load, the greater the power produced.

Abstract

Planning in the use of components in a power system needs to be done correctly. The planning will affect the optimization of the system in distributing power. Suboptimal power distribution will have an impact on the continuity of the power being distributed. The analysis that will be carried out is a power flow analysis. This research was taken using data from ULP Kota Baru Penyulang Palem, the location of this research is located in the distribution system area of Jambi City, Jambi Province, with the connection center at Penyulang Palem which is located in Kota Baru District, Jambi City, Jambi Province. . KVA is used to measure the total power in an electrical system. Total power includes active power and reactive power, so KVA provides a more complete picture of the power requirements of an electrical system. In the KVA measurement, it is assumed that all loads connected on a single line are 85%, 90%, 95%. That the greater the assumed load of the transformer and the farther away from the source, the greater the voltage drop / the smaller the voltage The greater the resistance the smaller the voltage drop, if the smaller the resistance then the drop will be larger. The wider the cross-section, the smaller the strain drop. The highest measurement of all loads is 3918 kv at the base of the source located near the bus in JB1100 assuming all loads of 95%.
