Abstract

Blind people have difficulty in navigating due to the limited sensing they are capable of. In this research, we design a stick tool that can distinguish objects in the form of humans, animals and inanimate object based on camera. Processing is carried out with the Raspberry Pi with a webcam camera as input and indicators in the form of a buzzer and vibrator. The feature extraction process is carried out by deep learning using the tensorflow library and image processing using the Single Shot MultiBox Detector (SSD) method. Tests were carried out on human objects, animals (cats), and inanimate objects (chairs and tables) for indoor and outdoor conditions and obtained an accuracy of 92%, a sensitivity of 83%, and a specificity of 100%.

Abstract

Renewable energy is energy produced from natural sources, such as light, wind, rain, tidal currents, and geothermal, which is renewable or can naturally reappear after being used. In this study, a study of the effectiveness and efficiency of power plants in certain locations. For this reason, it is necessary to design a tool in the form of a data logger that is used to collect parameter data such as light intensity, electric voltage, electric current, power, temperature, humidity, wind speed, and others. The placement of the data logger will help in the basic test of the feasibility of using energy sources later. Data logger is a system that can record automatic parameters of current, voltage, power on solar panels and automatically record conditions of temperature, humidity in the solar panel. The results of logger data on light intensity for a more efficient placement of solar panels occur at location 1 Beach behind Kmpus UBH 1, where at that location has an average light intensity of 798.24 Cd.

Abstract

Audio / Video Selector 5 Channel with Microcontroller AT89C2051 is a tool used to select one of the audio / video electronic equipment such as DVD player, VCD player, Playstation to be activated. This tool uses the AT89C2051 microcontroller which has been programmed as the control center of the 5 channel audio/video selector circuit by pressing the remote as the controller. The input of the device is connected to several electronic equipment and the output is connected to a television set. This tool makes it easy for owners of television sets that only have one A/V jack input.

Abstract

In palm oil processing companies to become oil, the boiling process is carried out to make it easier for the loose fruit to come from the bunches, to stop the development of free fatty acids and will cause the tbs to soften so the oil extraction process becomes easier. The boiling process requires steam from steam. Steam is obtained by heating a vessel filled with water with fuel. Generally, boilers use liquid, gas and solid fuels. Steam functions as a boiling and electric generator, the company uses a boiler as a steam producer to support the production process. A boiler or steam boiler is a closed vessel used to produce steam through an energy conversion process. To find out the boiler efficiency, a calculation is carried out by taking the parameters needed for boiler operation, from the analysis the highest boiler efficiency results are 83.56% and the lowest is 75.25%, where the heating value with 13% fuel at 1000 Kw load is 83, 56%. And the calorific value with 10% fuel at a load of 750 Kw is smaller with a value of 75.25%.

Abstract

The steam turbine is an initial drive that converts the potential energy of steam into kinetic energy and is subsequently converted into mechanical energy in the form of a turbine shaft rotation, directly or with the help of a reduction gear, connected to the mechanism to be driven. In research to analyze the performance of a steam turbine using LPG gas as fuel. Where in this study using the results of wet steam to move the turbine shaft with variations in pressure (7Bar, 6Bar, 5Bar and 4Bar). So that the maximum result is 7 Bar, the steam mass obtained is 0.09 with a time of 1.5 hours by heating 15 liters of water, the steam power produced is 25.6 Watts, the shaft power is 18.01 Watts and the maximum electrical power produced is 20 Watts. the turbine work efficiency is 78.12% and the result is a generator efficiency of 25%.

Abstract

The use of DC source voltage obtained from solar cells and DC generators varies in value depending on the surrounding natural conditions, for that a controller is needed which functions to regulate the voltage in carrying out the charging process to the accumulator. This paper will discuss about the design of charge controller based on Arduino Uno R3 with ATmega328 microcontroller. This controller is used to regulate the charging process from a DC source with a maximum open circuit voltage of 24 Volts, which is then used to charge the 12 Volt accumulator. This charge controller works by sending a source voltage that is regulated by pulse width modulation. When the accumulator voltage is 13.8 Volt, the controller will carry out a charging process with a duty cycle of 95%, if the accumulator voltage is> 13.8 Volts and ˂14.4 Volts, charging will be carried out with a duty cycle of 10%, and if the accumulator voltage exceeds 14.4 Volt, the charging process will be stopped. Some protection equipment is also included in this charge controller such as overvoltage protection, overcurrent and also control of the connection breaker to the load when the accumulator voltage is weak, and a disconnect from source to accumulator when the accumulator condition is full. To show the work of the whole system, with the Arduino Uno R3 microcontroller the parameters of source voltage, accumulator voltage and percentage of accumulator status are displayed on the LCD screen then 2 LED lights and a buzzer as indicators during the charging process and when the accumulator condition is weak. From the results of the voltage reading on the voltage divider sensor, it has an error of less than 6.22% at the source terminal and 6.89% at the accumulator terminal..

Abstract

Kinerja sebuah screw turbine dipengaruhi oleh parameter-parameter yang terkait dalam perancangan screw turbine itu sendiri. Salah satu parameter penting dalam perancangan screw turbine adalah pitch atau jarak periode dari sebuah sudu (blade), sudut kemiringan, putaran dan debit air Kebutuhan akan energi listrik saat ini dirasakan sangatlah penting, baik untuk kebutuhan rumahan, maupun untuk kebutuhan industri yang semakin hari semakin berkembang, sementara unit–unit pembangkit listrik yang ada hampir tidak mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan. Indonesia mempunyai potensi energi terbarukan yang cukup banyak untuk dimanfaatkan salah satunya energi air. Potensi ini belum bisa dimanfaatkan secara optimal karena keterbatasan teknologi turbin dalam memanfaatkan energinya. Untuk head dan debit yang sedang hingga tinggi saat ini masih mengandalkan turbin Pelton, Francis, Kaplan, dan Crossflow. Sedangkan untuk head yang rendah masih sulit untuk dikembangkan, padahal di Indonesia mempunyai potensi yang sangat besar. Dalam pengujian PLTPH menggunakan turbin screw didapatkan hasil tertinggi dengan tegangan 129,2 V AC dengan arus beban tertinggi hingga 0,65 sedangkan ampere generator sebesar 1,79 Ampere yang mampu digunakan untuk beban hingga 180 W pada tegangan 75,5 Volt  AC pada ketinggian air 80 Cm, dan pada keadaan tegangan terendah menghasilkan 80,6 Volt AC dengan ampere beban 0,15 dan Ampere generator sebesar 0,42 Ampere yang dapat dibebani dengan lampu 20 Watt pada ketinggian air 70 Cm.

Abstract

Pesticide sprayer tools that are widely used by farmers are still using hands or fossil fuel machines, so they are still classified as traditional and ineffective methods. Some of the weaknesses of the traditional method include less practical, fossil fuels that will run out and the impact on the environment. Solar energy from the sun can be a solution to these problems. Solar panels are devices used to convert sunlight into electrical energy. In this study, a monocrystalline 30W solar panel was used as a tool used to capture sunlight. By utilizing solar power as an energy source sprayer and pump so that it can take advantage of the hand pressing the lever and refilling it manually. In addition, preferring solar power over fossil fuel engines can reduce the use of fossil fuels and further strengthen renewable energy that will not run out and is environmentally friendly. In this study, solar panels were installed above the head to maximize the capture of sunlight and also protect the head from the heat of the sun. The results showed that the battery energy required to spray the difference in battery percentage from 10 liters to 6 liters of liquid volume was 4% and from 6 liters to 2 liters of liquid volume was 6%.

Abstract

The use of smarthome technology to monitor and control homes is growing recently. The smarthome system requires the integration of several sensors to determine the conditions in the house. In a centralized smarthome system, all sensors are connected to a single node to perform data processing and communication which can result in system failure if this node is broken. In this study, we use a distributed model for the smarthome system. The designed system consists of three nodes, which are kitchen instrument, room instrument, and door instrument. These three instruments are equipped with RFID sensors, temperature sensors, gas sensors, and reed switch sensors to perform security features of the smarthome that can be accessed remotely via smartphones or computers. The results show that the system has been able to work well and can overcome the problem of failure on some instruments without causing the whole system to collapse. This smarthome system has an average delay of 2.21 seconds.

Abstract

Variable speed drives and the importance of controlling the speed of existing motors have attracted much attention with the advent of new electrical devices and magnetic materials. This paper is a comprehensive review of the application of VFD in energy saving electric motors. The aim is to identify energy saving opportunities and apply variable speed drives to existing electric motor applications. In this paper the authors hope to provide useful information for future variable speed drive applications such as fans, pumps, coolers, ventilators and as electric car propulsion. In this study, a series of frequency changes has been tested as an induction motor speed regulation (VFD), which in the results of this frequency change research can regulate the speed of the induction motor. In this study, the frequency change is still regulated analogously by changing the resistor size on the PWM signal generator IC for the MOSFET driver. For that the next research is expected to change the frequency can be done digitally
