Abstract

This research aims to develop and implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-based device control system using Telegram with the Bot API method. This system is designed so that users can control electronic devices, such as lights and fans, remotely and in real-time through the Telegram application. The method used in this research is experimental, testing the reliability and performance of the system under various network conditions. The NodeMCU ESP8266 is used as the main microcontroller that connects the device with the internet network, while the Relay Module is used to control electrical devices. The test results show that the system works well on a sTable Wi-Fi connection, with an average response time of 2-3 seconds and a 100% success rate. However, on weak Wi-Fi connections and cellular data, there was a drop in performance with longer response times and a slight decrease in success rate. The main advantage of this system is its ease of use, which only requires the Telegram messaging app to be accessed from anywhere. Nonetheless, the system has drawbacks, such as dependence on a sTable internet connection and a limited number of devices that can be controlled. This research successfully developed an efficient and practical IoT-based device control system. The system provides a solution for better management of electronic devices, with the potential to be further developed to improve device performance and compatibility.

Abstract

Sustainable rural development is critical to improving the economic, social and environmental well-being of rural communities. However, challenges such as inadequate infrastructure and limited access to essential services impede progress. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) offers innovative solutions to overcome these barriers. This research aims to explore the role of ICT in sustainable rural development, focusing on its applications in the agriculture, health, education and governance sectors. The research used a mixed approach, combining policy analysis, stakeholder interviews, case studies, as well as secondary data analysis and spatial modeling. Data were collected through surveys and GIS data analysis to identify the role of ICTs in sustainable rural development. Findings show that the use of ICTs, such as GIS and mobile applications, has improved land use planning and resource management. About 80% of respondents have access to mobile phones, but only 50% have internet access, suggesting barriers to digital adoption. While ICTs have the potential to enhance rural development, challenges such as digital literacy and infrastructure deficiencies remain a barrier. Strategic investments and collaboration between stakeholders are needed to maximize the impact of ICTs. This research demonstrates that ICT integration in rural planning can foster sustainable development. Although significant challenges exist, recommendations including investment in digital infrastructure and digital literacy training programs are essential to optimize the benefits of ICT for rural communities. Strategic implementation of such recommendations can transform rural communities towards a more sustainable and resilient future.

Abstract

Road damage on provincial roads in Cirebon Regency disrupts community mobility and has the potential to cause accidents. This problem requires reconstruction measures to improve transportation safety and efficiency. This study aims to identify the dominant risks affecting the implementation of provincial road reconstruction projects in West Java using the Severity Index (SI) method. The research approach used is quantitative. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey distributed to project owners, consultants, and contractors directly involved. Severity Index method was applied to assess and calculate risks based on probability impact matrix (PIM). From the analysis, 12 risk factors with 22 risk variables were found to have high severity and unacceptable. These risks include political, environmental, planning, financial, and technical aspects, which have a significant effect on project time, cost, and quality. Provincial road reconstruction in West Java faces various risks that must be effectively managed to achieve success. Proposed risk mitigation includes expert consultation, development of a coordination plan, and worker training to improve communication and safety awareness. These measures are expected to ensure the project goes according to plan and minimize any negative impacts that may occur.

Abstract

Project planning, cost, time, quality, contract administration, and safety management are the regulated aspects of construction in construction management. As a result, project objectives cannot be realized without competent construction management. Planning, execution, and control are the three main functions of construction management. All human and other project resources are managed through these three processes: planning, execution, and review. The purpose of this study aims to determine construction time management, find out how long the project duration will take if using CPM and PERT methods, analyze CPM and PERT on the comparison of planning time. The approach method used is a qualitative technique that involves collecting field data that will be used as information for the research topic. The researcher uses the CPM and PERT methods as a tool in projects related to a management in planning and control in the project. The CPM and PERT methods are used to figure out the duration of the project required and also identify the types of critical work in the project. Based on the analysis conducted, the CPM method only requires 100 days and the PERT method 100.48 days. Using the CPM method produces a time efficiency of up to 20 days compared to the PERT method of only 19.52 days. From the results obtained, the critical path of the two methods is A, B, C, D, and also the non-critical path is E, the duration is faster than the previous plan schedule which is 120 days.
