Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of mathematical self-efficacy on mathematical reasoning abilities in online learning situations. The research design is quantitative descriptive on 75 students of class XI SMA Negeri in one of Mataram City State. The data collection is in the form of a mathematical reasoning ability test score consisting of 5 items, and a 20-point SEM questionnaire. Data analysis using simple regression. The results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between mathematical self-efficacy and students' mathematical reasoning abilities. The simple regression equation, namely: Y = 38.075 + 0.483X explains how students' mathematical reasoning abilities can be improved by increasing mathematical self-efficacy. Observation of other factors in the formulation of the regression equation is important for further research, considering that the results of these findings show that the correlation between mathematical self-efficacy and mathematical reasoning ability is only 14.8%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate mathematics learning through online learning and hybrid learning which were reviewed based on the Habits of Mind (HoM) owned by 70 samples as the prospective mathematics teachers from a university in West Java, Indonesia. The research data was obtained from a questionnaire containing 26 statements referring to the HoM indicators. It was measured using a Likert scale and then analysed using the Mann Whitney-U test to see if there were differences in the achievement of HoM from the two sample groups that received the online learning and the hybrid learning method. The results showed that there was no difference in the achievement of HoM in the two groups with the average score still below the ideal score of each measured indicator. Based on these findings, the implementation of online learning and hybrid learning methods pay more attention to affective abilities so that the achievement of prospective mathematics teachers’ HoM in mathematics learning after the COVID-19 pandemic can be maximized.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce mathematics teaching materials in the form of Discovery Learning-based modules on comparative materials for SMP class VII that have been tested for validity. This research uses the development method with the ADDIE development model, which includes; 1) Analysis, 2) Design, 3) Development, 4) Implementation, and 5) Evaluation. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the ADDIE development model was carried out in only three stages, namely; 1) Analysis, 2) Design, 3) Development. This study uses an instrument in the form of a LKPD validation sheet. While the data collection technique used is validation data from 2 Mathematics Education lecturers and 1 mathematics teacher at SMPN 4 DUMAI. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative analysis. The results showed that the module developed by both material and media experts was Very valid and valid with a value of 88.08% and 84.88%, respectively. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the module based on Discovery Learning on comparative material in class VII has been tested for validity.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of cooperative learning model of make a match and to determine whether there are differences on students' motivation and mathematical problem-solvingabilities on multiplication of integers, between learning using cooperative learning model of make a match and conventional. This study is experimental research. The research was carried out at third grade students of SDN 066652 Bakti Luhur. The population was 41 students. The sampling technique used saturated sample; all populations were involved to be used as research samples. The data collection techniques used questionnaires, tests, observation sheets, and documentation. The data analysis technique used analysis prerequisite test, including normality and homogeneity test of the data, N-Gain test and final analysis using t- test. The results showed that learning motivation index value of experimental class was 87.8 including high category, the control class was 73.67 including medium category. The average score of mathematical problem-solving ability in experimental class was 43.80, including high category, while the control class was 24.8 including good category. The results of hypothesis test of differences in learning motivation show that t count > t table with sig. p-value = 11.310 > 0.05), and the difference in mathematical problem-solving ability shows that t count > t table with sig 37.504 > 0.05. So, it can be concluded that cooperative learning model of make a match is effective on students' motivation and mathematical problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the mathematical reasoning abilities of high school students with the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach in the material of sequences and series. The RME approach in this study was applied in the form of RME reasoning questions. This research uses a descriptive qualitative research method. The subjects in this study were 33 students of class IX-E SMA, then reduction was made by taking three students, one with high, medium, and low reasoning abilities. The data was collected using an instrument of mathematical reasoning ability test in the form of an essay consisting of 4 valid and reliable questions, and by using interviews to obtain data in the form of student responses directly by providing a series of questions posed by the researcher to the subject. Based on the results of the study, several conclusions were obtained that the three subjects had a fairly good understanding of using questions that were close to examples in everyday life. Students who have high reasoning ability are able to master the five indicators of mathematical reasoning ability. Students who have moderate reasoning ability are only able to master three indicators of mathematical reasoning ability. Students who have low reasoning ability, are able to master one hand of mathematical reasoning ability.
