Abstract

This study is about fish anesthesia using natural anesthetic ingredients. Natural anesthetic ingredients aim to reduce metabolism in Epinephelus sp. grouper fish. The immobilization method can be used to minimize high metabolism in Epinephelus sp. grouper fish. The purpose of this study was to obtain the influence of Datura metel L. seed extract on the onset time, recovery time, and live graduation of grouper fish Epinephelus sp. The results of the study, using extracts of natural anesthetic ingredients Datura metel L.seed with concentrations of 25%, 30%, and 35% can be concluded that it has a different influence (P<0.05) on the onset and recovered grouper fish. This study gave a life graduation rate of 100% in each concentration. The best concentration in this study was 35% concentration, with the fastest onset time of 3 minutes with a recovery time of 10.67 minutes. This study used a non-Factorial Complete Randomized Design

Abstract

Milkfish is a commodity that is commonly consumed by the Indonesian people, in addition to its economical price because there are already many choices of milkfish products that have been innovated so that the community's interest in milkfish is increasing. The nutritional content of milkfish is quite high. Field work practices (PKL) are held in Yogyakarta starting from 17 December 2018 to 31 January 2019. At Cv. Fania Food Yogyakarta, on the road to Semanggu KG-1 No.16, Gedong Kuning, Kota Gede, Yogyakarta City, Yogyakarta Special Region. The method used in this field work practice is a descriptive method, namely fact finding with the right interpretation. Descriptive method is a method that addresses the human group of an object, a set of conditions, a system of thought, or a class of events in the present. The scope of packaging criteria includes the process of making presto fish and packaging milkfish presto. Aspects that include packaging criteria ranging from packaging materials, packaging labeling, list of materials used, weight or net contents, name and address of the party producing or entering food into the territory of Indonesia and expiration date, month and year and certification from the relevant agency.

Abstract

Cantang groupers is an Indonesian fishery commodity is superior and has a high economic value. Cantang groupers (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus-lanceolatus) is an engineered hybrid seeds of cross-breeding between male parent fish giant grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) with the female parent tiger grouper (Epinephelus lanceolatus). Balai Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau (BPBAP) is one of the balai that have nursed the grouper abstraction with quality seed yields. This Field Work Training with the aim to help financial management of the grouper abstraction in concrete tanks, the factors that need to be considered, challenges that arise in the process of separating grouper and business analysis, used descriptive method of retrieval primary and secondary data. Nursery of cantang groupers seed aims to similize so that it can reduce the level of cannibalism and enchance the fish’s endurance before cultivated on a pond or net cages. Things that need to be prepared in nursery grouping include preparation of containers, seed selection and stocking, grading, growth data collection, feed management, water quality management, pest and disease control, harvesting and marketing. From the results of Field Work Training, the optimal growth rate is 0.55 gr / day and 0.132 cm/day with an increase of 13.2% in 30 days. Optimal growth can occur due to good food management, water quality, and grading.

Abstract

White shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) culture has grown rapidly in Indonesia since  early 2000s. White shrimp have stronger resistance to WSSDV attacks, and are euryhaline. In it’s natural habitat, this shrimp was found in waters with a range of 0.5-40 ppt salinity. White shrimp grow optimally at 15-25 ppt salinity, even still suitable at 5 ppt salinity. This capability provides the opportunities to culture these commodities in inland water. White shrimp need inorganic elements or minerals for their living processes. Calcium is one of the main needs of shrimp that is closely related to the development and maintenance of skeletal systems and plays a role in some physiological processes of the body. The requirement for calcium in shrimp is increasing when it is cultivated in fresh water. This Internship aims to find out the technique of adding calcium carbonate (CaCO3) in feed, used for the white shrimp culture in fresh water. In this field practice, the addition of calcium carbonate in a level of 2% refers to the requirement of white shrimp for optimal growth. This was based on the calcium requirements of shrimp in the amount of 1-2%. The method was repelleting, by grinding feed and calcium using mortar and pestle, then filtered to get the smoothest part. Then mix calcium with 10 mL of water and mix it with pellets evenly. Then the mixture is air dried and mashed again and weighed according to the required dose of feed. The addition of calcium in the feed affects the growth of shrimp, because calcium is one of the most important anorganic mineral for the growth and development of exoskeleton, regulates blood clotting, heart rate, kidneys, nerves, the activity of several enzymes, and cell function

Abstract

Fish is a protein source that is very potential and needed by humans. One of the fish that has a high enough nutrient content is Red Snapper (Lutjanus malabaricus). Snapper fish contains 92 kilocalories of energy, 20 grams of protein, 0 grams of carbohydrates, 0.7 grams of fat, 20 milligrams of calcium, 200 milligrams of phosphorus, and 1 milligram of iron. The high water content is one potential that must be considered because it is a good medium for microbial growth. Therefore efforts are needed to maintain the nutritional content, freshness, taste, and extend the shelf life through preservation, one of which is by freezing. The Air Blast Freezing method is one of the freezing methods that uses a combination of low temperatures which are temperatures of -35℃ to -40℃ by blowing cold air  quickly towards the product. This method has the advantage of one of which is relatively easy operation. The purpose of this field work practice is to know the process of freezing Red Snapper (Lutjanus malabaricus) with the Air Blast Freezing (ABF) method and the obstacles in the production of Red Snapper (Lutjanus malabaricus) using the Air Blast Freezing (ABF) method. The stages of the production process of Red Snapper (Lutjanus malabaricus) are the reception of raw materials, washing I, sorting, washing II, weighing, washing III, preparation, freezing with the Air Blast Freezing (ABF) method, glazing, packaging, storaging, stuffing. The freezing process with the Air Blast Freezing (ABF) method uses a temperature of -35℃ to -40℃ for 6-8 hours so that the plant can produce as much as 3 tons in one day. Obstacles to the freezing process at PT ILUFA are raw materials that contain parasites. Factors that influence the freezing process include raw materials during the reception and monitoring process during the freezing process in the ABF engine.
