Abstract

The problem in this study is, Is there any significant effect of GPT Chat usage on mathematical literacy of Mathematics Education students at Dayanu Ikhsanuddin University? This study aims to determine the effect of GPT Chat usage on mathematical literacy of Mathematics Education students at Dayanu Ikhsanuddin University. This study used quantitative research by applying a correlational method. The population was all active students in the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year of Mathematics Education at Dayanu Ikhsanuddin University, totaling 98 students. The sample in this study was all fourth semester Mathematics Education students at Dayanu Ikhsanuddin University, totaling 22 students. The research instrument used a questionnaire, and data analysis techniques used descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The results of this study are (1) normality and linearity tests, which indicate that the data are normally and linearly distributed. (2) hypothesis testing using simple linear regression analysis. The significance value obtained was 0.002 with t count = 3.534 > t table 2.086. Because the significance value is 0.002<0.05, HO is rejected and HI is accepted based on the hypothesis acceptance criteria. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of GPT Chat usage on the mathematical literacy of Mathematics Education students at Dayanu Ikhsanuddin University.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of Quantum Teaching model on the mathematical conceptual understanding ability of junior high school students in statistics. The low mathematical conceptual understanding, especially in statistics which covers data presentation, measures of central tendency, and measures of dispersion, was identified as the main problem in one of the junior high schools in Baubau City. The Quantum Teaching model through the TANDUR framework is considered capable of creating a conducive, meaningful, and motivating learning environment. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The sample consisted of two classes, each comprising 32 students: the experimental class received Quantum Teaching, while the control class received conventional instruction. The data collection instrument was a 10-item essay test measuring mathematical conceptual understanding, administered as both pretest and posttest. Learning progress was analyzed using the normalized gain score (N-gain) and an independent t-test at a 5% significance level. Results showed that the mean N-gain of the experimental class (0.63; medium category) was significantly higher than that of the control class (0.35; low-medium category), with t = -6.321 and p = 0.000 < 0.05. It is concluded that the Quantum Teaching model has a significant positive effect on the mathematical conceptual understanding of junior high school students in statistics in Baubau City.

Abstract

This study was motivated by students’ low mathematical conceptual understanding caused by learning practices that still emphasize formula memorization. This condition indicates the need for innovative learning media that can help students understand mathematical concepts more deeply and contextually. The purpose of this study was to develop an interactive e-book based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) on the topic of Linear Equations in One Variable for eighth-grade junior high school students that is valid, practical, and effective in improving students’ mathematical conceptual understanding. This research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, consisting of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and mathematical conceptual understanding tests. The data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results showed that the PBL-based e-book achieved a validity level of 92%, categorized as very valid. The practicality level based on teacher and student responses reached 89%, categorized as very practical. Furthermore, the effectiveness test indicated an improvement in students’ mathematical conceptual understanding with an average N-Gain score of 0.72, which falls into the high category. Therefore, the PBL-based e-book on Linear Equations in One Variable is feasible to be used as a digital teaching material to support more active, interactive, and meaningful mathematics learning.

Abstract

The problem in this study is, is there any significant effect of learning concentration on mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 8 Baubau? The objective of this study is to find out yhe effect of learning concentration on mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 8 Baubau. This type of research is quantitative research with the Ex-Post Facto method, where the population of this study is all class VIII students of SMP Negeri 8 Baubau with a total of 104 students spread across 4 classes. While the sample in this study was 23 students. The instruments used were questionnaires about student learning concentration and documentation on monitoring student learning concentration while studying and mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 8 Baubau. This data was analyzed using descriptive analysis, inferential statistical analysis, and simple linear regression analysis. The result of this study concluded that there is a significant influence of learning concentration on the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 8 Baubau.

Abstract

The research question in this study is Does the implementation of Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning supported by interactive learning media influence students’ mathematical communication? The objective of this study is to determine the effect of implementing Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning supported by interactive learning media on students’ mathematical communication. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method. This study was conducted during the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year at a junior high school in Baubau. The population in this study consisted of all eighth-grade students, comprising five classes. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling, as it was assumed that the initial abilities of all eighth-grade classes were relatively similar. One class was selected as the experimental class, which would subsequently use the Search Solve Create Share (SSCS) learning model supported by interactive learning media, namely Class VIII.C, and one class was selected as the control class, which used the conventional learning model, namely Class VIII.B. Based on the analysis results, a t-value of 5.251 was obtained, with a significance level of 0.000 < α = 0.05. Therefore, it is concluded that the implementation of the Search Solve Create Share (SSCS) learning model supported by interactive learning media has an effect on communication skills.

Abstract

The problem statement in this study is, is there any significant Effect of the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum on the Mathematics Learning Outcomes of students at SMP Negeri 4 Buton? The purpose of this study was to determine the Effect of the Implementation of the Independent curriculum on the mathematics learning outcomes of Grade SMP Negeri 4 Buton. This study used an ex post facto research method. The population was all grade VIII students in the even semester of SMP Negeri 4 Buton, consisting of three classes. The sample size was 44 students, using cluster random sampling. The instruments used a questionnaire and essay- based diagnostic test. The research results revealed that the independent curriculumon student learning outcomes, specifically an essay test, based on calculations using Simple Linear Regression using the R_L2DIKTI_22 Series A application. A p-value of 0.000 was obtained for a significance level of 0.05 (5%). Therefore, a significance value 0.000 < 0.05 indicates that the HI is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the independent curriculum has a significant effect on the mathematics learning outcomes of eight-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Buton.

Abstract

The problem statement of this study is, what are the learning difficulties of grade XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Baubau in solving trigonometry problems?This study aims to determine the learning difficulties of grade XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Baubau in solving trigonometry problems. This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive method. The subjects were 34 grade XI.9 students of SMA Negeri 2 Baubau. The instruments are tests and interview guidelines. These intsrumens are used to obtain data on the learning difficulties experienced by students and the factors contributing to these difficulties. After the data were collected by using tests and interviews, than they were analyzed by using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Based on the research results, the conclusion of this research shows that students experience difficulties in four indicators: (1) difficulty in determining the steps for solving problems, (2) understanding concepts or formulas, (3) stating relationships between problem components, and (4) performing mathematical operations. The cause of these difficulties came from internal factors, such as a lack of conceptual understanding and limited cognitive abilities, as well as external factors such as a lack of active participation in learning and the teacher’s delivery methods.

Abstract

The problem statement in this research is, Is there any effect of the jarimatika method on algebraic operations on the learning achievement of third-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Baadia?. This research aims to determine the effect of applying the jarimatika method on algebraic operations on the learning achievement of third-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Baadia. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The population in this study were all class III students at SD Negeri 1 Baadia which consists of two classes, namely class III A and class III B, with a total population of 39 students. The sample in this study is the same as the population, namely class III A with 21 students as the control class and class III B with 18 students as the experimental class. The instruments used were tests on addition, subtraction, and multiplication to assess the learning process and student behavior using the finger arithmetic method. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, prerequisite analysis (normality and homogeneity analysis), and Independent Sample T-Test analysis. The results of this study are the analysis of normality and homogeneity tests that the data are normally distributed and homogeneous, followed by hypothesis testing estimated with a hypothesis test (Independent Sample T-Test) with equal variances assumed. Based on the analysis results, tcount=2.232 ttable = 2.026 with a significance value of 0.032 <0.05, so Ho is rejected and H₁ is accepted based on the hypothesis acceptance criteria. Therefore, the researcher concludes that there is an effect of using the jarimatika method in algebraic operations on the learning achievement of third-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Baadia.

Abstract

The problem in this study is, is there any significant effect of the implementation of the Sekolah Penggerak program on the learning outcomes of class XI students of SMA Negeri 4 Baubau?. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of the implementation of the Sekolah Penggerak program on the mathematics teaming outcomes of class XI students of SMA Negeri 4 Baubau.This research is included in the type of quantitative research with the Espost Facto approach. The population in this study were all students of class XI of SMA Negeri 4 Baubau in the 2024/2025 Academic Year consisting of 6 parallel classes, namely 145 students. The sampling technique used was Simple Random Sampling using the slovin formula. While the sample in this study. as much as 74, of the population of 6 classes, namely 106 students. The instruments in this study were questionnaires and students' mathematics learning outcomes. The data collection technique used was by administering a questionnaire manually (offline) and taking students' mathematics learning outcomes obtained from report card scores on the knowledge aspect of mathematics subjects for class XI students of SMA Negeri 4 Baubau in the odd semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The data analysis was carried out using Simple Linear Regression analysis. Based on the results of the analysis using simple regression. the linear regression equation is obtained: Y = 23.816 + 0.678X. With a t value of  9.518, significant at 0.000 < 0.05. This shows that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. This means that the implementation of the Sekolah Penggerak program has a significant effect on the mathematics teaming outcomes of class XI students of SMA Negeri 4 Baubau.

Abstract

This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The population in this study were all class III students at SD Negeri 2 Baubau which consisted of 210 students. The sampling technique in this research used a purposive sampling technique, where one class was the experimental class which was given learning using the recitation method using worksheets, namely class VII.I and another class was the control class which was not given learning using the recitation method, namely class VII.2 which each class has 31 students so the sample used is 62 students. The research instrument used in this research is a test. The data collection technique in this research was carried out using tests in the form of essays which were given at the beginning and end of the lesson to the two sample groups to measure students' mastery of the material on rectangular shapes. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis and inferential analysis in the form of t-test. The results in this research are the analysis of normality and homogeneity tests showing that the data are normally distributed and homogeneous, followed by hypothesis testing estimated using a hypothesis test (independent sample T-Test) with equal variances assumed. Based on the analysis results, the calculated t-value= 3.327>t-table-2.009 with a significance level of 0.002 <0.05, so Ho is rejected and Hi is accepted based on the hypothesis acceptance criteria. Therefore, the researcher concludes that the application of the cross-line method is significantly effective in improving the understanding of multiplication concepts among third-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Baubau.
