Jurnal Pengabdian pada Masyarakat PATRIA diterbitkan oleh LPPM (Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian pada Masyarakat) Universitas Katolik Soegijapranata memuat berbagai artikel ilmiah yang menyajikan implementasi berbagai disiplin ilmu yang bersinergi dengan masyarakat untuk membantu menyelesaikan permasalahan yang ada dan memberikan pelayanan pada masyarakat. Sesuai namanya, PATRIA adalah bangsa, dalam hal ini Jurnal ini berkeinginan memberikan wadah untuk tulisan-tulisan yang berkontribusi dalam memberikan pelayanan pengabdian bagi bangsa Indonesia. Tulisan dalam jurnal ini untuk diseminasi gagasan dan hasil penellitian yang dapat diterapkan dalam masyarakat untuk kemudian mampu meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Tujuan Jurnal Patria ini adalah membantu menyebarluaskan berbagai aktifitas dan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dari berbagai ide, pikiran, maupun integrasi dari berbagai disiplin ilmu. Jurnal ini terbit dua kali dalam setahun yakni Desember dan Juni.

Abstract

University is not only a place where students get knowledge academically but also non-academically. It must show responsibility to give students the opportunity to have a good life. For this reason, university must help students to be  aware of their self, their purpose in life and passion. It must help students develop their potential so they can live happily (well being especially psychological well being). The life satisfaction and happiness (psychological well being) can be fulfilled if the individual is in good health. The World Health Organization defines health as being physically, mentally and socially healthy. Health counseling can help individualsoptimize their potential. Continuous efforts to maintain body fitness, manage emotion and thinking ability for giving positive interpretation in life experinces and harmony social interaction and mutual support to others make individuals feel satisfied in life and happy. The purpose of this activity is to provide health counseling services to increase students' psychological well being. Thirty students from various faculties at UnikaSoegijapranata were involved in this activity. By attending three health counseling sessions with the theme of physical, mental, and social health there was an increase in psychological well being.

Abstract

Packaging is an element of product strategy that is used to attract consumers to buy the product. Small businesses usually do not pay attention to their product packages so that the products are not attractive to the target consumers. Here, we used packaging to help the small business partners to leverage sales of their products. The assistance covers labelling in which relevant information about the products is provided to the consumers. The small business partners have been successfully selling their products with higher price because of better packages.

Abstract

Cassava or Manihot esculenta is one of agricultural potential in Dusun Jebug. Usually, harvested cassava is being sold directly to the market or consumed themselves by steaming it first. This phenomenon shows that despite cassava’s high production rate, Dusun Jebug hasn’t process it to its maximum potential resulting the low economic value in said cassava. Which is why innovation in cassava based food product is needed, one of which is making it into nugget. The steps to make cassava nuggets are: (1) steam the cassavas until it become tender, (2) crush the steamed cassava until the surface become smooth, (3) Mix it with butter, water and flour, (4) Stir until the mixture is formed, (5) shape the dough and fill the filler, (6) coat it with flour mixture, (7) mix with bread crumps and, (8) Fry it. Cassava nugget can increase the economic value of cassava and increase the cassava development in Dusun Jebug.

Abstract

This community service aimed to develop UMKM (Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises) creativity through product innovation in the form of honey oatmeal body scrub at UMKM at Sambiroto, Semarang.The era of globalization that has been followed by technological advancement and business competition must bepositively responded with a breakthrough in the creativity of UMKM entrepreneurs. Creativity can produce innovations that can advance micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM). Accompaniment to UMKM through the innovation of honey oatmeal body scrub products can prove the importance of UMKM to be more creative in order to produce high quality product innovations that can be more widely marketed

Abstract

Extracurricular activities outside of school hours,  aiming to develop student;s interests and talents.  SD Kuncup Melati has extracurricular activities,namely batik (batik jumputan), which is  intended for students  in grades 5 and 6. Efforts to improve extracurricular batik by mentoring and training by Unika Soegijapranata through Kuliah Kerja Usaha (KKU) activities.  KKU activities involve lecturers, students, and school participation (students and teachers).  The program of KKU’s acticities is to develop and add shibori batik motifs, making creative accesories from batik.  The results of KKU’s activities are the batik motif that are increased in the form shibori batik with various models, and creative batik necklaces and key chains.  From this activities, batik’s extracurricular and accessory batik’s creation are to be the main activities of SD Kuncup Melati

Abstract

Community service is carried out in South Kumudasmoro with kalayan who are businessmen of food stalls and fruit juice entrepreneurs. The purpose of service is to provide training on how to develop small businesses that are currently being carried out by means of improvements in the production process. This service area is a partner capable of developing a business in a better way because it produces more quality products (healthy, tasty and attractive). The method used is to provide training in understanding quality products and facilitating healthier production and marketing tools. The results of dedication show that understanding partners are shown by changes in how to produce and market

Abstract

Vegetables and fruit are important nutrients that our body needs to fulfill fiber, vitamins, minerals and some enzymes that play an important role in the functioning of the digestive system, cardiovascular system and prevent diabetes mellitus. A survey found that the consumption level of fruits and vegetables in Indonesia was still low. One factor in the low consumption of fruits and vegetables is the development of fast food. Teenager is the group of age with the least consumption of fruits and vegetables. This counseling activity was carried out to find out and increase the knowledge of teenagers about the consumption of fruits and vegetables. This activity was held in SOS Taruna Village which began with the distribution of questionnaires to 35 teenagers who were present at the time of data collection. After the data was obtained, health counseling and distribution of fruits (oranges and bananas) were carried out. The survey results obtained were mostly good at 51.4% and lack of attitudes  (51.4%). Conclusion: teenagers' knowledge and attitudes about consumption of fruits and vegetables is still lacking. Suggestion: need health education and movement to make teenagers aware of the benefits and importance of eating fruits and vegetables and then evaluated in their daily diet.
