Research topics include media uses, processes, and effects. Reports of empirical research, theory papers, state-of-the-art reviews, replication studies and meta-analyses that provide a major synthesis of primary research findings in a pivotal area will be considered. We encourage preregistrations and welcome the inclusion of supplementary materials, such as stimuli, measures, preanalysis plans, deidentified data, and code as a part of new submissions. Manuscripts will be judged by the degree to which they contribute to theory and advance the body of knowledge about the psychology of uses, processes, or effects of the media. Peer Review Policy: All research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymous refereeing by at least two anonymous referees.

Abstract

This study aims to find the effectiveness of coloring art therapy against depression in a teenage girl in Yogyakarta. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a difference in the level of depression of the research subject before and after being given coloring art therapy. The level of depression after coloring art therapy was lower than before coloring art therapy. The sample in this study was a 13-year-old girl in Yogyakarta who had a history of being away from her parents and experienced moderate-severe depression. Coloring art therapy is given individually, twice, using drawing art media and markers. The subject’s depression level was measured using the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) II scale from initial to final measurements. This study used one research subject with a single one-shot case study pre-experimental design. The data were analyzed by using visual inspection and qualitative analysis. The results of this study indicate that coloring art therapy is effective in reducing depression in young women.Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas terapi seni mewarnai terhadap depresi pada remaja putri di Yogyakarta. Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini adalah ada perbedaan tingkat depresi subjek antara sebelum diberikan terapi seni mewarnai dengan setelah terapi seni mewarnai. Tingkat depresi setelah terapi seni mewarnai lebih rendah dibanding sebelum terapi seni mewarnai.  Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah remaja putri di Yogyakarta yang berusia 13 tahun, memiliki riwayat pernah berjauhan dari orangtua dan mengalami depresi sedang-berat. Terapi seni mewarnai ini diberikan secara individual, dua kali, menggunakan media seni gambar dan spidol. Depresi subjek diukur dengan menggunakan skala Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) II dari pengukuran awal sampai akhir. Penelitian ini menggunakan 1 subjek penelitian dengan desain pre-eksperimen single one shot case study. Data analisis dengan inspeksi visual dan analisa kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terapi seni mewarnai efektif dalam menurunkan depresi pada remaja putri.

Abstract

Sekolah yang belum menerima siswa berkebutuhan khusus, berpotensi mempengaruhi perkembangan proses belajar mereka di sekolah inklusi. Bentuk hubungan dengan teman sebaya adalah penerimaan individu di dalam kelompok teman sebayanya (peer accepatance). Maka, perlunya metode psikoedukasi untuk memberikan pengetahuan keistimewaan siswa berkebutuhan khusus sehingga meningkatkan peer acceptance siswa terhadap siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswi yang bersekolah di SD Negeri 05 Kembangan Jakarta Barat. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah nonprobability sampling dengan teknik convenience sampling. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian sebanyak 78 siswa, yang terdiri dari kelas 2, 3, 4, 5, dan 6, namun yang mengikuti hingga tuntas (mengikuti kegiatan penelitian sampai post test) sebanyak 69 orang. Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh dari psikoedukasi dengan tema Temanku Istimewa terhadap peer acceptance siswa reguler di sekolah Inklusi. Penelitian ini membandingkan rata-rata peer acceptance sebelum dan sesudah perlakukan. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa psikoedukasi temanku istimewa secara signifikan efektif meningkatkan peer acceptance siswa regular terhadap siswa berkebutuhan khusus dengan down syndrome, autis, dan tuna rungu. Namun, siswa yang mengalami lambat belajar psikoedukasi temanku istimewa menunjukkan peningkatan peer acceptance siswa regular, tetapi perubahannya tidak signifikan. Hasil analisis menggunakan MANOVA terlihat bahwa tingkat kelas dan jenis kelamin tidak mempengaruhi peer acceptance. Tingkat kelas hanya berpengaruh pada post-test peer acceptance terhadap tunarungu (p=0.04 kurang dari 0.05). Abstract. Schools that have not accepted students with special needs have the potential to affect the development of their learning process in inclusive schools. The form of relationship with peers is the acceptance of the individual in the peer group (peer acceleration). So, the need for psychoeducation methods to provide knowledge of the privileges of students with special needs so as to increase student peer acceptance of students with special needs. The population in this study were students who attended SD Negeri 05 Kembangan, West Jakarta. The sampling technique used was nonprobability sampling with a convenience sampling technique. The sample used in the study was 78 students, consisting of levels 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, but those who followed it to completion (following research activities to post-test) were 69 people. This study aims to determine the effect of psychoeducation with the theme “Temanku Istimewa” on peer acceptance of regular students in inclusive schools. This study compares the average peer acceptance before and after treatment. The results showed that the Psychoeducation theme “Temanku Istimewa” was significantly effective in increasing peer acceptance of regular students towards students with special needs with Down syndrome, autism, and hearing impairment. However, students who experienced slow learning about “Temanku Istimewa” psychoeducation showed an increase in peer acceptance of regular students, but the change was not significant. The analysis using MANOVA shows that class level and gender do not affect peer acceptance. The class level only affects post-test peer acceptance for deaf people (p = 0.04 less than 0.05).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara beban psikologis dengan kualitas hidup yang dimoderatori oleh koping religius pada caregiver wanita dengan kanker payudara. Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 70 responden yang merupakan caregiver keluarga wanita dengan kanker payudara di Ruang Instalasi Kanker Terpadu “Tulip” RSUP Dr. Sardjito. Terdapat tiga alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian diantaranya WHOQOL-BREF yang sudah diadaptasi sebelumnya ke dalam bahasa Indonesia untuk mengukur kualitas hidup, skala beban psikologis untuk mengukur beban psikologis dan skala koping religius untuk mengukur koping religius yang mana kedua skala merupakan skala yang sudah digunakan dalam penelitian sebelumnya dan dimodifikasi. Analisis data menggunakan Moderated Regression Analysis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa beban psikologis secara signifikan memprediksi kualitas hidup (B= -0,388, p kurang dari 0,01) dengan sumbangan efektif sebesar 15,0 persen, sedangkan koping religius tidak terbukti memoderatori hubungan antara beban psikologis dan kualitas hidup (p lebih dari 0,05). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah beban psikologis dapat mempengaruhi kualitas hidup pada caregiver wanita dengan kanker payudara. Koping religius tidak memoderatori hubungan antara beban psikologis dan kualitas hidup pada caregiver wanita dengan kanker payudara. Abstract. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between psychological burden and quality of life moderated by religious coping among caregivers of women with breast cancer. A total of subjects in this study were 70 family caregivers of women with breast cancer in the Intensive Cancer Center “Tulip” Dr. Sardjito Hospital. Data were collected using three scales such as WHOQOL-BREF to measure the quality of life which has been previously adapted in Bahasa Indonesia, and Psychological Burden Scale to measure psychological burden and the Religious Coping Scale to measure religious coping were both measurements from a previous study which was modified to fit the subjects of study. Analysis of data using Moderated Regression Analysis. This study showed that psychological burden significantly predicts the quality of life (B= -0,388; p less than 0,01) with effective contribution 15 percent, whereas religious coping was not proven to moderate the relation between psychological burden and quality of life (p more than 0,05). In conclusion, the psychological burden could affect the quality of life among caregivers of women with breast cancer. Religious coping did not moderate the relationship between psychological burden and quality of life among caregivers of women with breast cancer.

Abstract

This study aimed to determined and explained the impact of celebrity worship on impulsive buying of idol merchandise, in this study specifically on BTS merchandise. A sample of 303 respondents were teenagers aged 13 – 21 years who loved the idol group, BTS. The sampling technique uses a snowball-sampling technique. The measuring instrument used is The Impulse Buying Tendency which has been modified with the Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient of 0.862 and the Celebrity Attitude Scale which has been modified with the Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient of 0.901. The result showed that celebrity worship had an effect on impulsive buying on BTS merchandise with an R2 value of 0.278. The results of the study that celebrity worship has an effect on impulsive buying on BTS merchandise can be seen from the t count of 10.765 more than 1.967 with a significance value p less than 0.005. The conclusion is celebrity worship has an impact on impulsive buying on BTS merchandise for teenagers who are fans of BTS. Further research can be carried out on random idol groups other than BTS, so it can be seen whether celebrity worship really affects impulsive buying of idol merchandise in general.Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menjelaskan pengaruh celebrity worship terhadap impulsive buying pada merchandise idola, dalam penelitian ini khususnya merchandise BTS. Sampel sebanyak 303 responden merupakan remaja dengan rentang usia 12 – 20 tahun yang menggemari grup idola BTS. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik snowball-sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah The Impulse Buying Tendency yang telah dimodifikasi dengan koefisien reliabilitas cronbach alpha sebesar 0,862 dan Celebrity Attitude Scale yang dimodifikasi dengan koefisien reliabilitas cronbach alpha sebesar 0,901. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa celebrity worship berpengaruh terhadap impulsive buying pada merchandise idola dengan nilai R2 sebesar 0,278. Hasil penelitian bahwa celebrity worship berpengaruh terhadap impulsive buying pada merchandise idola dapat dilihat dari t hitung sebesar 10,765 lebih dari 1,967 dengan nilai signifikansi p kurang dari 0,005. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa celebrity worship memiliki pengaruh terhadap impulsive buying merchandise BTS pada remaja penggemar grup idola BTS. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat dilakukan pada random grup idola lain selain BTS, sehingga dapat dilihat apakah celebrity worship benar mempengaruhi impulsive buying terhadap merchandise idola secara umum.

Abstract

Beberapa tantangan dalam penelitian kuantitatif yang masih belum bisa diatasi selama ini adalah validitas ekologis pada penelitian eksperimen dan recall bias pada penelitian survey. Guna menjawab permasalahan tersebut, penulis tertarik dengan penggunaan Diary Study/ Experience Sampling Method (ESM). ESM merupakan metode pengumpulan data secara berkala yang bersifat real-time di latar alami partisipan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode systematic literature review untuk menganalisis definisi, prosedur serta kelebihan dan kekurangan ESM. Berdasar hasil telaah pustaka, ESM diketahui dapat menggambarkan proses inter maupun intra-individu, memiliki validitas ekologis yang bagus, meminimalisasi recall bias dan mendapatkan data yang beragam. Sayangnya, penggunaan ESM masih terkendala beberapa hal seperti self-selction bias, atrisi, motivasi serta kompleksnya managemen maupun teknik analisis data yang digunakan. Hal-hal yang dapat mengatasi permasalahan tersebut telah didiskusikan. Abstract. Some existing challenges in quantitative research are ecological validity in experimental psychology and recall bias in the survey study. In order to answer those questions, the author was interested in the experience sampling method (ESM) or diary study. ESM is a research method that collects data frequently in participants’ real-world settings. This study performed a systematic literature review to analyze the definition, procedures, as well as the benefits and drawbacks of ESM. According to the literature review, ESM is known to describe both intra-individual (within-subject) and extra-individual (between-subject) processes, has better ecological validity compared to experimental research, can minimize recall bias, and was able to obtain various data. Unfortunately, there were some drawbacks such as self-selection bias, attrition, motivation, also the complexity of its data management and analysis. Some procedures to minimize those issues have been discussed.
