Abstract

Non-physical DAK for pharmaceuticals is one of the APBN budgets given to districts/cities in the pharmaceutical sector with a menu of distribution of drugs, vaccines and medical consumables (BMHP) as well as support for the use of information systems or drug logistics applications and electronic BMHP as a government effort to guarantee availability of drugs in primary health services. The focus of this research is the implementation of non-physical DAK pharmaceutical BOK implementation policies at the Purwakarta District Health Office. The performance of policy implementation needs to be analyzed in order to evaluate to generate feedback for the next policy development process. Data collection techniques are through in-depth interviews with key informants, observation, and document review. This research uses the Van Meter and Van Horn policy implementation model approach. The results of the research show that it is still necessary to improve the understanding of implementers in planning activities and the low compliance of reporting on the realization of Non-physical DAK in accordance with the established technical guidelines

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a condition in which the pancreas cannot produce enough insulin for the body. The number of people with diabetes mellitus is estimated to continue to increase around 578 million people in 2030. Management of diabetes mellitus is through pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies. Pharmacological therapy is considered quite expensive and causes side effects, so they started to switch to using herbs, including bay plants. Bay leaves have antidiabetic activity, containing flavonoids. The purpose of this study was to summarize the mechanism of bay leaf extract (Syzygium Polyanthum) as an antidiabetic in several scientific articles. The method used in this article review is to conduct a literature study on scientific articles published in 2011-2021, in English or Indonesian, and pre-clinical trials. This journal search strategy was carried out using keywords: "Syzygium polyanthum, diabetes mellitus, hypoglycemic, hyperglycemic". There are 5 articles that are appropriate and reviewed. The results of the review show that bay leaf extract has activity in lowering blood sugar through several mechanisms, inhibiting ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species) free radicals through electron transfer and inhibiting peroxidation reactions. The conclusion of this study is that bay leaves have antidiabetic activity through the mechanism of inhibiting free radicals of ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species).

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a disease with metabolic disorders that are often found in Indonesian society. One of the natural components that can be used as antidiabetic are several plants from the genus pothos. In this study, using the results of the fraction of one of the plants of the genus Pothos, namely Pothos junghuhnii de Vraise and testing the inhibitory activity of the -glucosidase enzyme with Acarbose as a comparison. Antidiabetic activity test using microplate and analyzed with Elisa reader. The inhibitory activity value (% inhibition) was obtained at a concentration of 1000ppm for the n-hexane fraction, which was 7.2%, while for the ethyl acetate fraction, it was 48.6%. From the results shown, it has not been able to inhibit 50% of enzyme activity so that it is included in the weak category when compared to the inhibitory activity value (% inhibition) of acarbose which is 97%.

Abstract

The main vector for the spread of dengue fever is the female mosquito Aedes aegypti. In Indonesia, chemical larvicides are commonly used to control Aedes aegypti larvae. Bioinsecticides made from plants are one option for environmentally friendly larvae control. Leaves and flower of breadfruit Artocarpus altilis contains toxic compound that can function as larvicides. This experimental study used combination of leaf and flower of breadfruit expect that the combination of the two extracs was synergistic and it was more effective in killing Aedes aegypti larvae. The third instar Aedes aegypti larvae was used and divided into control group and test group with concentrations 1000, 2750, 4500, and 6250 ppm and replicated in 3 times with observations every 6, 9, and 24 hours. To identify the significant difference, the mortality data was analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan's test. In probit analysis, LC50 value of breadfruit leaf extract was 1871 ppm with LT50 was 4.2 hours. LC50 value of breadfruit flower extract was 2531 ppm with LT50 was 10.8 hours. LC50 value of the combination of breadfruit leaf and flower extract was 903 ppm with LT50 was 3.7 hours. Based on these studies, it may be indicated that breadfruit leaves and flowers was more effective in killing Aedes aegypti larvae than single extracts

Abstract

Dengue fever (DF) and its severe form, dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD) and dengue shock syndrome (DSS) have become major international public health problems. Over the past three decades, there has been a dramatic global increase in the frequency of dengue fever (DF), DENGUE and DSS and their epidemics, with concurrent increases in the incidence of the disease. This study is an observational analytical study, intending to analyze the relationships between variables. The research design used is cross sectional. The study used semi-quantitative methods with medical record data. Statistical tests (Fisher's test) are conducted to analyze the number of leukocytes as a predictor of thrombocytopenia worsening. From the results of the test obtained p = 0.009 (p<0.05) which means the number of leukocytes can be used as a predictor of worsening thrombocytopenia in pediatric dengue fever patients.  Conclusions that can be drawn from this study there is an influence between the number of leukocytes and predictors of thrombocytopenia worsening with a significance value (p) of 0.009 < (α) 0.05 which means there is significance between the number of leukocytes and the worsening of thrombocytopenia, so that the number of leukocytes can be used as a predictor of worsening of thrombocytopenia in pediatric dengue fever patients
