Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain a description of the problem-solving grade IX SMP Labschool UNTAD Palu in problem-solving solid figures in terms of visual-spatial intelligence. This study used a qualitative method that is based on the problem-solving steps proposed by Polya. The results showed at the stage of understanding the problem (1) student of high visual-spatial intelligence was drawn objects contained in the problem and make an example at the points in the image according to their own understanding to identify the information contained in the problem. As well as these students can mention all the information that exists correctly. (2) student of mid visual spatial intelligence was to draw objects in the problem to identify information contained in the problem. As well as these students can mention all the information that exists correctly. (3) student of low visual spatial intelligence can mention all the information that exists correctly. At the stage of making a plan (1) student of high visual spatial intelligence prefer shorter and less common strategies to solve problems, namely to find the area of all upright sides in the pyramid and add to the area of the beam without a roof. (2) student of mid visual spatial intelligence are choosing a very common strategy for solving problems, namely looking for the surface area of the beam, adding it to the surface area of the pyramid. Then the sum of results will be reduced by the area of the base of the pyramid and the area of the roof of the beam. (3) student of low visual spatial intelligence experience difficulties and are incomplete in determining problem solving strategies. At the stage of carrying out the plan (1) student of visual spatial intelligence can implement strategies to solve problems correctly. (2) student of mid visual spatial intelligence are able to apply strategies to solve problems correctly. (3) student of low visual spatial intelligence experience difficulties when working on problems and cannot solve problems correctly. At the stage of looking back (1) student of high visual spatial intelligence is very thorough in re-examining the work step by step and reexamining the results that have been obtained. Student believe the truth of the answer by recalculating and concluding the results obtained correctly. (2) student of mid visual spatial intelligence is not re-examining the results that have been obtained because they have believed the truth of the answer. (3) student of low visual spatial intelligence do not re-examine the results that have been obtained because of doubt.

Abstract

This research was intended to get a clear description of the difference learning result in relation to student self-efficacy by applying the cooperative learning model types of student teams achievement division and numbered head together. The research design was a quantitative approach. The sample of this research was students of SMP Negeri 18 Palu, Grade VIIA and VIIB as the first experiment classes and the second experiment classes were VIID  and VIIE. This research applied an experimental method with a factorial design was 2 x 3. The research instruments administered to collect data, questionnaire of self-efficacy, and test for the students’ results of learning. Data analyzed used test Anova two lines and test t-Scheffe. The findings of the research were (1) there was a difference of students’ result in learning mathematic by applying student teams achievement division (STAD) and numbered head together (NHT); (2) there was a difference of students’ result in learning mathematics to students who have high Self-efficacy, middle self-efficacy, and low Self-efficacy; (3) there was no interaction between learning cooperative model with self-efficacy in relation with the result of students in learning mathematics; (4) there was a difference of students’ result in learning mathematics by applying student teams achievement division (STAD) and numbered head together (NHT), especially to high self-efficacy, middle self-efficacy, as well as low self-efficacy.

Abstract

The research aims to analyze the effect of the implementation of the academic supervision on the performance of junior high school science teacher in the District of South Parigi, analyze the effect of pedagogical competence on the performance of junior high school science teacher in the District of South Parigi, and analyze the effect of implementation supervision of academic and pedagogical competence on the performance of junior high school science teacher in the District of South Parigi. The method employed was quantitative descriptive, with a population sampling technique or sampling saturated. The Variable observation is the implementation of the academic supervision, pedagogical, and the performance of teachers conducted by the supervisor. The research result indicated that the implementation of the academic supervision conducted by supervisors was no real effect on the performance of teachers, pedagogical competence possessed by the teachers' real influence the performance of teachers, and the implementation of academic and pedagogic supervision simultaneously real effect on the performance of teachers.

Abstract

The background of this study is that students in the SMP Kristen GPID Palu have different levels of mathematics anxiety, some are very fond of mathematics, but not a few are anxious and tend to be afraid of mathematics. This is an interest to study in order to obtain a problem-solving profile of students who has mild, moderate, and severe anxiety levels. The purpose of this study was to obtain a problem-solving profile of class VIII students on the material in a linear inequality with one variable that was viewed from the level of mathematics anxiety in SMP Kristen GPID Palu. The question that will be answered in this study is how the problem-solving profile of class VIII students on linear inequality with one variable in terms of mathematics anxiety level in SMP Kristen GPID Palu. The researcher conducted a qualitative descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Data was collected by giving an anxiety questionnaire according to HARS, problem-solving test, interviews, and field notes. The result of this study showed that students with mild anxiety levels were able to solve the problem that was given well, students with moderate anxiety levels were able to solve problems that were given quite well, students with severe anxiety levels were able to solve problems that were given poorly.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of student motivation and outcomes learning through the application of cooperative learning model type of STAD combined with presentation media camtasia studio in class XI MIPA at SMAN 1 Sigi Biromaru. Subject of this research was two classes of XI MIPA1 as much 22 students as the experimental class and XI MIPA2 as much 22 students as a control class determined by Purposive Random Sampling. Data was collected use questionnaire instrument of learning motivation and learning result test. Testing data of research result using t-statistical analysis of t-test (Independent Sample t-Test) with prerequisite test that is normality test and homogeneity test. The average score of students learning motivation in the experimental class was 81 and the average score of students learning motivation in the control class was 67. The average score of students learning outcomes in the experimental class was 85 and the average score of students learning outcomes in the control class was 74. Based on the hypothesis analysis with t-test motivation of learning motivation obtained value tcount = 7.670 and it was located in the region of rejection of H0 between -2.018 and 2.018. Hypothesis analysis with t-test result statistic obtained value tcount = 8.056 and it was located in the region of rejection of H0 between -2,018 and 2.018. The result shows that there is effect of application cooperative learning model type of STAD combined with media presentation of studio camtasia toward the student motivation and outcomes learning in class XI MIPA at SMAN 1 Sigi Biromaru.
