Abstract

Pharaa Market is the main market in Hinekombe Village, Sentani District, Jayapura Regency. High market activity has a direct impact on the production of quite a lot of waste, and if it is not handled well, it has the potential to make Pharaa Market a dirty place and reduce consumers' interest in shopping. This will hinder the circulation of the economy and people's income. Therefore, the aim of this community service activity is to increase the village community's understanding and skills in utilizing waste to create organic fertilizer. The methods used are socialization and training. The results obtained indicate that the community has gained a new perspective on the potential of waste and has developed excellent skills in managing waste to produce organic fertilizer.

Abstract

The incidence of suicide cases among teenagers is on the rise in Indonesia. The purpose of this community service is to offer psychoeducation as a form of psychological first aid to prevent suicide cases among adolescents. The partners for this initiative are students from SMAN 1 Pengasih. Community service activities involve providing psychoeducation and training to prepare them as peer counselors. Initial assessments revealed that participants had an interest in suicide cases but lacked the initial knowledge and skills required to address suicide-related issues. The outcome of this activity is that participants have gained knowledge about recognizing signs of suicidal tendencies, an understanding of what can and cannot be done in cases of suicide, and have acquired first-aid skills to support peers with suicidal tendencies. The knowledge and skills acquired by the students in dealing with the issue of suicide can prove invaluable in preventing suicide cases among adolescents.

Abstract

Water is the primary necessity for rice fields, and if not managed effectively, it can pose challenges. Rice fields in Namang village serve as both a source of sustenance and a cornerstone of the community's economy. The objective of this community service program is to promote the use of appropriate technology in the form of a breastshot wheel to address water supply shortages. Additionally, it aims to bolster the growth of agrotourism in Sawah Pelangi Pelawan. The program unfolds in various stages, program planning, public awareness initiatives, tool assembly and tool testing. The evaluation findings underscore the high satisfaction of Namang village residents with the adoption of this appropriate technology, as the advantages of the breastshot wheel directly meet the water requirements of rice fields and enhance agrotourism attractions.
