Palmyra Fiber as Additional Materials on Solid Concrete Brick of Aggregate
ISSN : 20399340     EISSN : 20392117     DOI : 10.36941/mjss
The use of waste as an additional material on the building work was increasingly actively developed, such as straw, styrofoam, bagasse, cow manure. The key drivers of the use of waste is the potential for waste is increasing, due to the depletion of non-renewable resources. Papyrus rod diameter 60 cm, length 30 meters, has a volume of 5,652m3 as well as the edges of the Rods that can be used for construction with a thickness of 3 cm has a volume 0,942m3, Pith and fiber volume content of the stem 4,71m3/rod, then in one rod, there are 2 to 3 bunches each fruit bunches yield as much as 20 to 30 items for one harvest, by weight of fruit fiber 101.2 gram / fruit, Fiber characteristics are round and smooth is expected to reduce cracks in solid concrete brick and also can reduce the use of sand. This study aims to determine the compressive strength of the composition of the additional material of Rods fiber content and Fiber of palmyra fruit with a percentage 3%, 6% and 9%, mixing ratio; 1 cement and 5 sand in the manufacture of solid concrete brick. Rods fiber content used the average Ø1,031mm with a tensile strength of single fiber 39,305N / cm and fruit fiber to an average value Ø0,40mm with a tensile strength of single fiber 33,691N / cm. Making test specimen with a length of 20cm, width 10cm and thick 8cm. The test results of compressive strength after 14 days with the lowest value at 3% of additional material combination of fiber content of 6% fiber stem and fruit by 70,384Kg/cm²with a water content of 15,254% In weight position 2,935Kg as well as the highest value on the combination of additional material 0% rods fiber content and 3% fruit fiber by 98,821Kg/cm² with a water content of 15,031% In weight position 3,058Kg. While N (without additional material) with a compressive strength below the average id 63,704Kg/cm2 with water content of 10,167 in weight position 3,072Kg. Research result of solid concrete brick with additional material of rods fiber content and palmyra fruit fiber was included on the type B70, the average value of the compressive strength of 78.57 Kg / cm² (SNI-03-1348-1989) with a water content of <25%.

Abstract

This work aims to describe and analyze the new socio economic phenomenon of waste-based circularity. To describe this process of recovery and transformation of waste, which represents the basis of circular economy, it is necessary to understand the complex articulation of the production of goods and materials, their yield and their capacity of transformation. At the heart of all this is a series of human behaviors and habits dictated by legal rules and economic and cultural approaches. If we manage to better understand these behaviors, we can activate a series of processes which could help us to determine and encourage more sustainable behaviors from an environmental, economic and social point of view. Abstract

The Paper investigates objectivity of Mass Media in the Middle East. The researcher chooses the most prominient news channel in that turbulent area of the world, namely Al-Jazeera Arabic news channel and examines its journey to claim its assumed objectivity. The paper gives analysis of objectivity in different cultureal contexts. It shows the ways Al-Jazeera established itself as an objective voice and how it presented itself as an alternative view to the dominant western perspective of global news. At the end the paper takes an intersting turn by bringing objectivity back to its "stallwart" – American journalism, where it was openly dropped in the face of national threat. The study realizes that the same conditions which gave Al-Jazeera Arabic its objectivity, in the eyes of its viewers, were the ones that its competitors used to disclaim its objectivity. Conditions can easily change if circumstances or attitudes changed. The paper concludes that Objectivity, in its bright side, is an elusive ideal that can never be achieved in our turbulant world. Abstract

Different scholars are of different opinions regarding the time when the entity of the Albanian traditional law known as “Kanuni i Leke Dukagjinit” was compiled, precisely the law which reigned supreme in the highlands of Northern Albania. They offer their arguments based on historical data, mainly but also tapping other sources. In order to resolve such a mystery, we can obtain important data through the analyses of the language and terminology used by Father Shtjefen Gjecovi, when he gathered and compiled the Albanian oral tradition of Kanun. The time when Kanun began to govern the life of the inhabitants of Northern Albania is quite important as in this way we can gauge the evolution of the terminology used in the Kanun up to the point that the oral tradition was gathered, compiled and written down by Father Shtjefen Gjecovi at the beginning of the last century. Such a terminology helps us to come to the conclusion that in spite of the fact that Kanun existed many centuries ago, there are a lot of different strata in it up to the modern times ones. Abstract

The aim of this paper is to explore and review the role and contribution of Elbasan city in the well-known cultural and musical tradition of Albania. Referring to documents, this tradition dates back in the 16th century with the creation of the first musical bands, characteristic of that time, known otherwise as fanfarat or tajfat. During Ottoman invasion, especially during the 16th-17th century, oriental influence on Albanian folk music has been quite evident. Some musicologists think that this impact has been more evident especially in the music of the middle part of Albania. It needs to be emphasized that this influence has not been absolutely strict, since in most songs it appears either as a collaboration or a parallel version. After the 17th century in Elbasan, as well as in its surrounding regions, there was born folk music, firstly as the music of beano, and later on as a typical civic folk music accompanied by the orchestra. Ethnomusicologists think that prior to folk city music, there used to be country folk music, in the north eastern part of Elbasan, in the villages around Zaranika estuary, where old songs were sung, and very soon they were spread even in Elbasan. Meanwhile, by the years 20s and 30s of the 20th century in Elbasan there was spread civid folk music whose founders were the trio of: Isuf Myzyri, Leksi i Vinit as well as Mustafa Bodini. Folk songs of Elbasan belong to the musical style of the middle part of Albania; since they are sung in the dialect of Elbasan, they are considered as the civic folk songs of Elbasan. There needs to be highlighted that even during the first half of the 20th century, a great role in the musical and cultural tradition was played by the social and patriotic clubs, such as “Bashkimi” (1908), “Drita”, Vllaznia (18 April 1908) as well as the creation of patriotic society known as “Afërdita”. The latest one, in 1917 reestablished a musical band as well with the same name “Afërdita”, which existed before. This band besides various marches, it used to play hymns too by using wind instruments, folk music not only in Elbasan but even in other towns in Albania. The band “Afërdita” functioned until the early years of World War 2. Received: 6 February 2021 / Accepted: 20 April 2021 / Published: 17 May 2021

Abstract

In sub-Saharan African countries, school-going single mothers are a rapidly growing new form of family. However, this pervasive phenomenon and its influence on child development have caught miniature thought. It is in this context that this paper sought to gain insights from a literature perspective on challenges confronted by rural Zimbabwean school-going single mothers in child nurturing. This is a documentary review of information considered relevant to the issue under investigation. In this context, the literature method was used in generating, data from purposively sampled sources. Against this background, the analysis revealed that school-going single mothers encounter numerous challenges, such as the difficulty to maintain discipline and authority in their ‘new’ family setting, social ostracism through school-going single mothers, and their children's experience of adverse stances in social, emotional and economic obstacles. Thus, single mothers in these rural societies take on all the chores, child upkeep and in most cases are susceptible to social separation, which forms a situation, which does not bring up children’s social and cognitive development. In this context, it can therefore be concluded that these detected challenges influence how school-going single mothers in the rural Zimbabwe context nurture their children. It is against this background that we recommend that school-going single mothers are encouraged to find means of exercising positive parenting that ensures that their children are well-groomed and provided for. Abstract

In this work we have highlighted why sustainability should be analyzed as a cultural concept. The sociological analysis of the last decades on the social environmentalist movements has concentrated his attention on the reasons that pulled the activists on adopting pro-environmental behaviors. These analysis have always considered the reasons of the movements as actions moved by the fear of environmental crisis. This paper contributes on conducting an analysis on sustainability with a different approach based on new paradigms.   Received: 2 May 2021 / Accepted: 15 June 2021 / Published: 8 July 2021

Abstract

Existing literature falls short in that it fails to directly recognise the potential that lies within scent marketing and its influence on consumers’ behaviour, especially in high-end fashion stores. The study aimed to explore the influence of scent marketing on consumers’ approach and avoidance behaviour in the high-end fashion industry. The study was qualitative in nature and followed an exploratory research design. A non-probability snowball sampling method was used to recruit participants. Data was collected by means of three focus group sessions. The collected data was analysed by using the Morse and Field approach, and by making use of ATLAS.ti qualitative data analysis software. SPSS software was also used to analyse the demographic results. The results indicate that consumers’ response stimuli often depend on emotional stimuli they experience, which will lead to an approach or avoidance response. Scent marketing can boost approach behaviour, if implemented correctly. Based on the results, it is recommended that retail stores, more specifically high-end fashion stores, should make use of scent marketing to attract consumers to the store, keep them browsing for longer periods, enhance purchases and make them feel comfortable. Scent can have a positive influence on consumer’s evaluations, reactions and the intention to visit and revisit a store. This can result in consumers spending more time and money in the store. Furthermore, if scent marketing is implemented correctly, it could also boost brand identity and create a competitive advantage for that specific store.   Received: 27 February 2021 / Accepted: 15 June 2021 / Published: 8 July 2021

Abstract

According to the 2008 IOM Report on Migration in the World, circular migration is "the fluid movement of people between countries, including temporary or long-term movements, which can be beneficial to all entities involved, if it happens voluntarily and if it is related to the labor market needs of the countries of origin and destination.” The already 30-year experience of emigration of Albanians to Italy has shaped new models of migration. The historical migration between the two countries, as well as the long migratory experience after the fall of the communist regime, has enabled the circulation of many individuals between the two countries. The purpose of this study is to explore through the experiences of migrants moving between Albania and Italy, their contribution to themselves, as well as for the host country and that of origin. This paper is based on a combination of data obtained from secondary sources, such as: studies and research by foreign and Albanian authors, reports and literature focused mainly on circular migrants, but not only, as well as primary data obtained from direct interviews and focus groups with 15 circular migrants. Based on the perceptions generated by the migrants themselves, who participated in this study, there seems to be a threefold benefit from this migration process, despite the fact that migrants' perceptions take on different nuances in relation to these benefits that sometimes lean more towards themselves, sometimes from the host country and sometimes from the country of origin. Throughout the interviews it was noted that migrants did not know policies in support of this category, either from the host country or from the country of origin, which can be considered as an important step to be taken in the framework of interstate cooperation, to increase the triple benefit from this type of migration.   Received: 5 May 2021 / Accepted: 14 June 2021 / Published: 8 July 2021
