Abstract

This study aims to determine cognitive conditions before and after fulfilling religious information needs as a concern (gap) in the One Day One Juz (ODOJ) community, as well as to find out the ways ODOJers achieve to reduce or eliminate cognitive anxiety (cognitive gap) information. Subjects and methods: The sample stratification is 100 ODOJers in the Surabaya area with qualifications to participate in NGAOS/KOMINEX activities at least 4 times a month, take part in ODOJ online studies at least 4 times, and they are 15 years old. The conclusion is, there is confusion among ODOJers before the fulfillment of information occurs due to the large and varied data. This was immediately resolved after the fulfillment of the information needed (applicable) and disseminated to others. There is satisfaction that is achieved after the fulfillment of religious information needs.

Abstract

This research examines how anxiety influences fulfilling users' information needs at the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Library. This research uses a quantitative method using a sample of 100 active student respondents at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta with a purposive sampling technique. The analysis results show that the anxiety variable's coefficient of determination on meeting needs is 0.642. These results show that the influence of anxiety on fulfilling information needs in the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Library is 64.2%. The nature of the impact of these two variables is positive, where the simple linear regression equation is Y = 4.203 – 0.334X. The results of hypothesis testing show a rcalculate of 13.268. These results show results that are greater than. This research concludes that library anxiety significantly and positively influences meeting information needs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze using the seven pillars theory in interviews with students while working on class assignments. The seven pillars theory is a framework used to develop information literacy skills. Qualitative research methods use in-depth interviews as a data collection instrument. Interviews were conducted to understand how students use the Seven Pillars theory steps in collecting, evaluating, and using information when doing their coursework. The study results show that students tend to understand the Seven pillars theory steps well. They recognize the importance of identifying information needs, finding relevant sources, and selecting the most essential information for their task. However, most students face difficulties evaluating the reliability and sustainability of the information they find. In terms of information, students tend to use the information they see in their assignments. However, there were some challenges, such as difficulties in synthesizing and integrating disparate information into their task framework. This study's findings indicate that using the Seven Pillars theory in interviewing students while doing coursework can help them develop better information literacy skills. This study recommends improving teaching and learning approaches in tertiary institutions by emphasizing the use of the Seven Pillars theory in developing students' information literacy skills.

Abstract

The library service is the backbone of the library. Without services, the collection of library materials cannot be optimally utilized. One of the services provided by the Library and Archives Department of Dumai City is storytelling services. Storytelling service is a service conducted to convey a story through words, pictures, photos, or sound. Challenges arising from the impact of the pandemic have resulted in the library services being less optimal. Nevertheless, the Library and Archives Department of Dumai City strategically conducts activities as a form of prime service to library users through innovative storytelling services. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive. Data collection is done through observation and survey, including direct field monitoring and interviews with the research subjects. The research results state that the strategy and innovation of storytelling service activities during the pandemic are effectively carried out online by utilizing social media. When there are policies related to easing activities in the new normal, face-to-face interactions can provide a very interesting impression and receive a very positive response, even when adhering to health protocols.

Abstract

Archivists can play a role in realizing the National Movement for Aware and Orderly Archives initiated by ANRI. This study aims to understand the role of archivists in record management as an effort to enforce the National Movement of Awareness and Orderly Archive in The Institute of Witness and Victim Protection. The type of research used is a case study with a qualitative approach. Techniques in data collection include observation, interviews, literature studies, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation, triangulation, and conclusions. The results of this study revealed that archivists play a role in all stages of record management, creation, usage, storage, and disposition, as well as acting as a trigger in initiating the declaration of the National Movement of Awareness and Orderly Archive. Efforts made by archivists in dealing with the problem of archivists are accommodating internship activities to assist the work in managing archives, improving the quality of self by following the archiving training, discussing with leaders related to the implementation of archiving policies, and creative thinking while continuing to carry out their work despite obstacles.
