Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the extent to which the information quality and source credibility affect the use and the process of information adoption, especially among upper secondary school students as Twitter users who are prone to hoaxes and fake news. Research subject and method: The stratified sample was 100 upper secondary school students in Surabaya who used Twitter and had read or followed threads. The respondents were asked questions to test their dependence on Twitter and their social media behaviour that affected the information adoption process. Information quality has a significant effect on usability, in contrast to source credibility which does not affect the usefulness of information; however, these two dependent variables have a strong relationship which intervenes in the information adoption process among upper secondary school students.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi membuat banyak perubahan yang banyak menggeser dan menghilangkan fungsi pekerjaan serta institusi tertentu, tak terkecuali Perpustakaan. Menghadapi perkembangan jaman dengan kemutakhiran teknologi, perpustakaan harus meningkatkan layanan dengan menggunakan pendekatan emosional yang mampu mengikat pengguna (pemustaka) dan mempertahankan eksistensinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari hubungan pengaruh antara Emotional Branding terhadap loyalitas pengguna (pemustaka). Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif-ekplanatif, berusaha menjelaskan hubungan antar variabel independen dan dependen. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa terdapat adanya hubungan positif dan pengaruh yang signifikan antara emotional branding dan loyalitas.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana sistem keamanan yang diorganisasi secara informal bekerja di Jawa Timur, dan menjadi bagian tidak terpisahkan dari sejarah panjang Indonesia pascakolonial. Artikel ini menggunakan metode sejarah yang terdiri atas heuristik, kritik, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Tulisan tentang sistem keamanan swakarsa sebenarnya telah disinggung oleh beberapa peneliti, akan tetapi pembahasan yang secara lebih khusus mengeksplorasi peristiwa di Jawa Timur masih kurang. Artikel ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem keamanan swakarsa menjadi bukti bahwa masyarakat Indonesia memberlakukan sistem yang secara normatif tidak hanya tergantung kepada hukum negara yang positif dan detail, melainkan juga kesepakatan kesepakatan informal antarmasyarakat dan aparatur negara untuk membuat situasi masyarakat lebih kondusif. Sepanjang periode tersebut, sebagian masyarakat Jawa Timur percaya bahwa sistem keamanan swakarsa yang hampir tidak pernah tertulis dengan jelas merupakan modal penting bagi pembentukan keteraturan di masyarakat. Dinamika sistem ini menunjukkan bahwa banyak golongan masyarakat yang berkepentingan, baik secara politis maupun tidak, memfasilitasi pemerintah untuk memegang pengaruh. Sistem keamanan swakarsa pada gilirannya menginspirasi pembentukan pamswakarsa yang memiliki kecenderungan lebih militeristis. Tulisan ini menunjukkan bahwa topik historiografi tentang sistem keamanan masyarakat perlu ditinjau secara lebih dalam.

Abstract

The rise of cafes with various concepts is a response to the change that occurs in urban society today. What is meant by the change is the increasingly modern lifestyle of urban society. The lifestyle of urban communities, which is getting higher, has also caused cafe businesses increase. As a response to the urban lifestyle changes, many thematic cafes are now mushrooming. One of them is a library themed cafe, namely Libreria Eatery Cafe in Surabaya. Libreria Eatery combines a cafe as a place to eat and a library as a place to provide information and entertainment. Using a qualitative approach from the perspective of culture studies, this study observed the background of cafe business people who have commodified library that it turns into a libcafe as the impact of urban lifestyle change. The study found (1) the library was used as the interior design ornament of cafe, (2) the library was its main supporting business, (3) the library raised its image as modern entertaining information center.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on a person’s life, both physically and mentally. With the amount of information available, people can use this information to overcome the anxiety they face. This study aims to identify the information behavior of COVID-19 survivors and the role of libraries in social media as information institutions during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method used is quantitative descriptive. Data collection was carried out through a survey using Google Forms. The number of data collected was 148 respondents. The location was East Java, including Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Tuban, Bangkalan, Magetan, Blitar, Situbondo, Jombang, Gresik, Kediri, Ponorogo, Lamongan, Madiun, Ngawi, Banyuwangi, and Tulungagung. The results show that most people fulfill their information needs regarding the treatment of COVID and its development (48.6%), as well as a healthy lifestyle (15.5%) through social media. In accessing information, a small number of respondents experienced obstacles such as the amount of hoax information (6.1%), the available information was considered incomplete (5.4%), limited internet quota (4.1%), and problematic network signal (4.1%). Based on these results, we need the role of libraries that are able to provide information to meet the information needs of users.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Shopee is one of the most popular online shopping (e-commerce) platforms in Indonesia compared to other similar platforms. This platform offers the same functionality and usability as its competitors but still tops the list of the most used ones. This study aims to explain the influential factors in determining the process of adoption and recommendation of the Shopee platform among students in Surabaya. The research method used in this research is quantitative-explanatory using the theory test of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT2), and by using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) data analysis, the research objects are students. The location chosen in this research is Surabaya City, which is one of the big cities that do a lot of online shopping in Indonesia. This study adds another variable that is rarely used, namely the habit variable. The data analysis used in this approach consists of two (2) evaluations, namely the evaluation of the measurement model, or outer model, and the evaluation of the structural model, or inner model. The construct in this study is a reflective construct, assessed by looking at the results of calculations for convergence validity, average variance extracted, and discriminant validity. The findings show that habits and perceived trust have an effect on behavioral intentions to adopt. This is what ultimately affects their desire to make a recommendation to other people in their social environment. Kata Kunci: (e-commerce), perceived trust, college student, behavioral intentions, UTAUT2   ABSTRAK Shopee adalah salah satu platform belanja online (e-commerce) yang paling popular di Indonesia dibandingkan dengan platform lain serupa. Platform ini menawarkan fungsi dan kegunaan yang sama dengan pesaingnya, namun tetap menampati urutan paling atas yang paling banyak digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh dalam menentukan proses adopsi dan rekomendasi platform Shopee pada kalangan mahasiswa di Surabaya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan di dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif-eksplanatif dengan menggunakan uji teori penerimaan dan penggunaan teknologi (UTAUT2), dan dengan menggunakan analisis data Partial Least Square- Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM.), objek penelitiannya adalah mahasiswa. Lokasi yang dipilih dalam penelitian adalah Kota Surabaya, yang merupakan salah satu kota besar yang banyak melakukan pembelian secara online di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menambahkan satu variabal lain yang masih jarang digunakan, yaitu variable kebiasaan atau habits. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam pendekatan ini terdiri dari dua (2) evaluasi yaitu evaluasi model pengukuran atau outer model dan evaluasi model struktural atau inner model. Konstrak dalam penelitian ini adalah konstrak reflektif, dinilai dengan melihat hasil perhitungan dari convergence validity, average variance extracted, dan discriminant validity. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa habits dan perceived trust berpengaruh terhadap behavioral intention to adopt. Inilah yang pada akhirnya mempengaruhi keinginan mereka untuk melakukan suatu rekomendasi kepada orang lain di lingkungan sosial mereka. Abstract

This study aims to determine cognitive conditions before and after fulfilling religious information needs as a concern (gap) in the One Day One Juz (ODOJ) community, as well as to find out the ways ODOJers achieve to reduce or eliminate cognitive anxiety (cognitive gap) information. Subjects and methods: The sample stratification is 100 ODOJers in the Surabaya area with qualifications to participate in NGAOS/KOMINEX activities at least 4 times a month, take part in ODOJ online studies at least 4 times, and they are 15 years old. The conclusion is, there is confusion among ODOJers before the fulfillment of information occurs due to the large and varied data. This was immediately resolved after the fulfillment of the information needed (applicable) and disseminated to others. There is satisfaction that is achieved after the fulfillment of religious information needs.

Abstract

The spirit of Article 4 of Law No. 43 of 2007 is regulated by Article 5 paragraph (3) of Law No. 3 of 2017 is concerning to increase users interest in reading by converting printed books into electronic books. However, this breakthrough also brings new legal issues, namely the potential for reduced economic rights of creators or copyright holders of printed books as well as the decentralization of authority to convert printed books into physical books by libraries even though these requirements have been regulated by Article 27 of Law No. 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright; there is still room for illegal duplication and even piracy. There are two methods used in this research. The statutory approach is used to review statutory regulations primarily and the conceptual approach is used to support the narrative text presentation with relevant scientific literature. The results of this research indicate a need for special regulations regarding the conversion of printed books into electronic books by libraries by paying attention to the Economic Rights of the Creator or Copyright Holder of printed books. In addition, conversions must be carried out under the supervision of the relevant institutions and submitted centrally to the National Library to ensure standard procedures and conversion quality, and reformulation of previous regulations is necessary.
