Abstract

Increasing productivity is very important for companies to gain success in their business processes. This paper describes a case study of a manufacturing company that produces packaging products. PT BMJ is one of the companies engaged in the packaging industry. Low productivity and increased product demand for Offset machines becomes quite an important issue in the company, so that it becomes the objects of this research. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is one of the methods that can measure machine effectiveness with three assessment factors, namely: availability, performance, and quality. Measurement of the OEE value and analysis of six big losses are carried out as an effort to increase the OEE value of machines and improve the production system in the company. The root cause of the problem is identified by using a causal diagram to be able to provide several suggestions for improvements. Based on the results comparison of OEE value before and after the implementation of improvement on the Offset machine, these improvements can increase the OEE value by 7.13% in two month implementation. Although the increase in OEE has not yet reached the criteria for World Class OEE, the proposed improvement has been able to reduce six big losses and increase the value of OEE.

Abstract

The construction service business world always wants the best results in every project activities carried out. One of the best desired outcomes is the timely completion of a construction project, but this is often not achieved for several reasons, one of which is occupational health and safety incidents that occurs in a construction project. Based on the background of the problem and the results of a literature review sourced from 40 journals from 2011-2021, the journals collected and reviewed discussed occupational health and safety in construction projects. Therefore, it is very necessary to implement an OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) management system during construction work. Occupational health and safety aims to create conditions that support work comfort for workers, so as to improve risk management. Using sources based on previous research, the following will identify the types of occupational safety and health risk factors that most often occur in construction work. The types of risks that will be discussed here will be divided into three types based on internal risk, external risk, and project risk. Types of risk are divided into two types, namely technical and non-technical risks. Based on data from a total of 40 studies that have been reviewed, there are 22 studies that have Project Risk as the risk that causes 76% of risk in a building construction project.

Abstract

This paper establishes how the process engineer in a machine shop could capture the uncertainty and the transition of process parameters to improve the surfaced finish of bored work material (carbon steel IS 2062 GR E250 plates) and select the best parameters to achieve the aim. The fuzzy analytic hierarchy process method incorporating geometric mean and a novel Markov chain oriented weightage scheme were used as inputs into three multicriteria methods of weighted sum model (WSM), weighted product model (WPM) and weighted product model and weighted aggregated sum-product, assessment (WASPAS) model. Published literature data were used to validate the methods and their integrations. The novel Markov chain model borrows ideas from the orthogonal array, random number generation and the transition states of parameters. Finally, the optimal parametric setting idea is used to interprete the final results based on an initial response table determination, which are the averages of the signal-to-noise ratios summarized. The most important results are obtained from the fuzzy AHP-Markov WASPAS method. These are the feed parameter (preference score of 1.624) as the best parameter and the depth of cut with the preference score of 1.188 as the worst parameter. The findings indicate that process engineers should attach the most important interest to the feed rate as it is the most effective controlling parameter of surface finish during the boring operation of carbon steel IS 2062 GR E250 plates. Machining shops can employ the framework to evaluate and predict system performance before financial resource commitment to operations.

Abstract

PT. Riken Indonesia is a company engaged in PVC Compound that is specially designed to meet the needs of industrial markets such as automotive construction, household electronic toys, and high quality disposable medical devices. The sample chosen was line 5 The purpose of this study was to analyze the value of OEE including the Availability, Performance rate and quality rate. The method used is Overall Equipment Effectiveness with analysis of Six Big Losses. For the analysis of six big losses to the OEE value, namely the setup & adjustment value of 86.27%, the breakdown value of 9.06%, the idling & minor stop value of 2.67%, and the defect value of 2.01%. Set up & adjustment are the main thing from the problem of six big losses, the biggest setup and adjustment is influenced by cleaning time of 61.61%, startup/shutdown of 37.65%, and adjustment of 0.74%. Based on the analysis, the Availability rate of 76.72%, a performance rate of 84.66%, and a quality rate of 99.89%. The OEE is consists of availability rate, performance rate and quality rate, the OEE value was 64.88%, which means it was below the standard value that is 85%. So it can be said that the engine performance in line 5 PT. Riken Indonesia has not been effective and requires maintenance or continuous improvement.

Abstract

Basic quality seven tools help any organizations to improve their capability and process to fit into update situation and condition base on optimum choice they can select, in first step data need to be collected over the time upon agreed to get baseline data, as a visually how often data will emerge is a important also to compile it into some interactive graph of variations, if there any analysis can made and resulted as a listed problem occur from process have been finished, we can grade it as well to see which one impactful to our process and will be the top priority to improve, and this paper is targetted to see is the seven tools of quality is the comprehensive tools that can figured out any result that bridge us to varius group of result and easy to determine any conclution to make improvement for future plan tahat create continuous significant optimization to sustainability process to help any industry acheive a good analysis to growth over the years to come.

Abstract

In the industrial transformation of animal feed for chickens, downtime analysis is a crucial part of the plant's operations. Unfortunately, the literature on downtime analysis has a serious shortcoming; it fails to link downtime with Taguchi method’s optimization and ranking. To correct this deficiency, this paper proposes a new method that couples the Taguchi scheme with the weighted sum method (WSM), weighted product method (WPM) and weighted aggregated sum product assessment (WASPAS) method. A new model was developed to contain downtime factors, levels, orthogonal matrix, signal-to-noise proportions, normalisation indices, criteria weights and preference scores. The results of the Taguchi-WSM, Taguchi-WPM and Taguchi-WASPAS show that workstation 2 has the highest rankings of 0.8446, 8.9090 and 4.8770 for the Taguchi-WSM, Taguchi-WPM and Taguchi-WASPAS, respectively. Also, the lowest rankings of 0.1553, 6.7990 and 3.4800 were recorded for workstation 1 using the Taguchi-WSM, Taguchi-WPM and Taguchi-WASPAS methods, respectively. However, from literature reports, WASPAS has been associated with the best results compared to WSM and WPM. Hence, from the various results of prioritizing workstations 1 and 2, the results of the Taguchi-WASPAS method are recommended. This is the first time the downtime problem for animal feed processing equipment will be approached by a joint optimization and ranking with the Taguchi scheme, WSM, WPM and WASPAS multicriteria methods.
