Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has the largest geothermal potential in the world because it is in the ring of fire. Indonesia's geothermal energy reserves are 29,4 GW. However, until 2022, geothermal installed capacity in Indonesia is only around 2,175 GW, which is still far from its true potential. Geothermal energy development is needed for Indonesia to empower sustainable energy systems, so as to achieve the target of 3,1 GW based on the 2017 RUEN. To achieve the RUEN target, better development is needed through the role of the oil and gas industry. Geothermal development is seen as a complex dynamic system, with complex challenges to achieve this goal. This paper aims to understand the complexities of geothermal energy development. For this purpose, this paper analyzes geothermal development with a holistic and systematic approach using the conceptual stage of the system dynamics approach. The conceptual model shows that there are many factors that underlie the development ofgeothermal energy in Indonesia.

Abstract

The fried meatball chips industry has experienced significant growth in recent years, driven by consumer demand for convenient and tasty snack options. Packaging for these products often lacks innovation, leading to issues such as poor product protection, limited shelf life, and lack of brand differentiation. This study aims to develop an improved packaging solution for fried meatball chips that addresses these challenges while taking into account sustainability and consumer preferences. The study used a mixed methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative techniques. Initially, a comprehensive market analysis was conducted to understand consumer behavior, packaging trends, and industry best practices. The final packaging solution was tested for its effectiveness in terms of product protection, shelf life extension, and consumer appeal through various laboratory and field tests. In addition, a life cycle assessment (LCA) was conducted to evaluate the environmental impact of the proposed packaging solution and identify opportunities for further improvement. The findings of this study contribute to the existing body of knowledge in the field of packaging design and development, specifically for the fried meatball chips industry. The proposed packaging solution offers improved product protection, shelf life extension, increased brand recognition, and improved sustainability, ultimately benefiting both producers and consumers.

Abstract

In 2020 PT. X produces approximately 220 thousand packaging, this causes the paper raw materials used to exceed the maximum limit or exceed the insheet determined by the company. So that there is a loss to the company, both in terms of material and time. There are 3 types of waste or damaged products that are most dominantly found using lean manufacturing methods. The three  most dominant wastes are excess insheet, non-standard color and excess glue. The application of lean manufacturing is expected to reduce waste in 2020 and maximize the profits obtained. In implementing lean manufacturing, it is supported by using value stream mapping methods  and process activity mapping which is expected to get factors that cause waste. Waste that occurred in 2020 averaged 7.82%, greater than the standard set by the company with an average of 5%.

Abstract

Yogurt is a dairy product made through a fermentation process. Currently, yogurt packaging uses bottle-shaped plastic material. The current problem with yogurt packaging is that the visual image of the packaging, packaging shape, material thickness, packaging size and completeness of the packaging label is still low, so it is considered that it does not meet customer needs. Currently, yogurt packaging uses bottle-shaped plastic material. The problem of yogurt packaging is that the visual image of the packaging, packaging shape, material thickness, packaging size and completeness of the packaging label is still low, so it is considered that it does not meet customer needs. This research aims to identify a list of customer needs, a list of technical characteristics, directions of improvement, and the priority of technical characteristics of Yogurt product packaging. The research methodology uses the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) technique with the House of Quality (HOQ) matrix. The research generates 5 customer needs which were interpretated into 7 technical characteristics with directions for improvement, namely increased material thickness, fixed packaging volume size, reduced packaging length, reduced packaging width, reduced packaging height, improved visual image design, and increased label component completeness. The House of Quality produces a priority order of improvement, with the weight of importance of each technical characteristic, namely packaging length (90), packaging width (90), packaging height (90), packaging volume size (60), visual image size (60), completeness of label components (60), and thickness of packaging material (45).

Abstract

In the current era of global competition, many companies were looking for alternative solutions to compete with other companies in order to survive in competition, one of which is by improving product quality. Product quality can be seen from the number of defective products produced by the   product.   This   study   aimed   to analyze Channel C defective products at PT. Sinarindo Megah Perkasa in order to improve its quality. The data used is Channel C production from 2015-2022 with a total production of 3,860 products with 73 defective products. The results showed that the causes of defective products in Channel C came from several factors which were analyzed using a fishbone diagram including machine, human, environmental, method, and material factors. The DPMO value obtained was 56,735.75 with a sigma level of 3.0828. The recommended improvements were to carry out regular maintenance on the machine, make notes on the size of the machine roll, add people for Quality Control , make Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and provide detailed training to operators after the SOP is implemented.

Abstract

Skilled construction workers are one of the most important aspects of development. Repetitive work over a short period of time will result in musculoskeletal complaints. One of the tasks performed by skilled construction workers is stirring and carrying cement to ongoing construction, work is carried out for 8 hours a day manually. Therefore, researchers want to identify musculoskeletal complaints in skilled construction workers using the Nordic body map method. Based on the results of the Nordic body map questionnaire, it is known that the parts that experience pain are stiffness in the lower neck, left and right shoulders, waist, left and right hands, left and right knees, and left and right feet. This musculoskeletal complaint is caused by a work position that is bent and done repeatedly. The proposal given is to change the working position, use transport tools, and stretch before transporting cement.

Abstract

The open mining method has the potential for the formation of mine water. Mine water is characterized by a high degree of acidity which affects the life of organisms and the quality of the environment indirectly or directly, therefore it needs to be managed. This study examines mine water management at PT Adaro Indonesia. The methods used in the research were field studies and laboratory experiments. Grab sampling is used to take water samples, with the test parameters being pH, Fe and Mn metals and total suspended solid (TSS). Data analysis was carried out quantitatively and descriptively. The mine water management used is in the form of a settling pond. The settling pond consists of several compartments, namely sedimentation pond, safety pond, treatment pond and mud pond. The quality of mine water management through a series of settling ponds obtained changes in pH to 6.07, Fe metal 0.0465 mg/l, Mn metal 1.3513, and TSS 35 mg/l with an efficiency of more than 50%. The quality of mine water produced after going through management has met the established regulations, namely Decree of the Minister of Environment and Forestry No. 1347/MENLHK/SETJEN/PLA.4/12/2022.
